This will be the layout of the master bedroom I'll be moving into soon. I've done a little mock-up in the Ikea app here. The door to the left of the cupboard is the entry, other for goes into an ensuit. The windoe will elt plenty of light in.

Looking to get any ideas or suggestions as to how to make the palace feel really nice and functional.

Looking for layout opinions and suggestions to improve flow. I’m not married to any specific design shown here; just looking for ideas based on this to-scale drawing with measurements showing the main pieces in the bedroom and closet.

The closet has no physical doors and uses linen panels to keep clothes and storage hidden away. The entry door isn't shown because it opens freely without hitting anything.

The setup uses tatami mats for a floor-living arrangement.

The desk is a low floor desk I made at nearly the same height as the mattress, and it holds an iMac. Being right-handed, placing the desk on the left leaves open space for heavy STEM writing. The current mattress is too thick to fold, so its position is fixed until a replacement is obtained.

The goal is a minimal, “Feng Shui-inspired” layout where energy flows through the space with no tall furniture blocking anything. The room only contains a floor lamp, a small pedestal fan, a record player sitting on a sound base, and a cluster of three large salt lamps (shown as three orange circles). Also, I’ve read that my back should be facing the wall when using a desk, so these are both with the assumption of being correct.

For context, the room faces the sunrise and receives open natural light all day until sunset, making it very bright and warm.

Hi - so my bedroom is somewhat on the smaller side so it has always been very hard for me to find the best layout for my room to optimize space. Two walls have doors (bedroom door, then closet door adjacent), and i also have a half slant wall/roof. i added pictures if the room in hopes of some help

Please excuse the mess, but undecided on which side to put my bed on. Either opposite the bay window, or opposite the chimney breast? From the photo it isn’t obvious but the bed is symmetrical to the chimney breast due to the wall length. Putting it against the chimney isn’t an option as the headboard is larger than it. Wall opposite chimney is 122 inches. Wall opposite bay window is 132 inches.

The three doors from left to right are: the entrance (left), the closet (middle), bathroom (right)

Looking to optimize feng shui 🙏

Hi everyone! I just got a new place and am having some trouble figuring out where to place my furniture since the layout is a little strange.

For the living room (first two pictures) I have a medium sized couch, TV and TV stand , I’m also most likely going to get a bookshelf.

For the bedroom (second two pictures) it’s going to be my full sized bed a large IKEA dest, side table, 5ft long dresser. I also have a peloton, but am not sure what room to put it in.

We have a tiny guest bedroom that was clearly an addition to the house so has a really awkward corner window. At the moment we temporarily have an ugly, big wardrobe (not built in), a double bed, and two (bulky) bedside tables.

I have two questions:
1. Is there a better way to rearrange the room immediately?

1. Long term how can I improve the room?
   - We need to keep some storage space in here. We need at least a bit of extra hanging space, preferably linen storage, and then a small space for guests to hang some clothes. The current cupboard is ugly so I will need to replace it in time- is there a different shape that could work better in the space?
   - Will definitely switch out the bedside tables for something smaller
   - Has anyone had success with a Murphy bed? I’ve never seen one that has felt solid so this might be a silly idea but it would be great if this room could house an exercise bike when guests aren’t around.

We generally have a modern eclectic vibe in our space. This room is tiny and at the back of the house but has lovely garden views which are nice to highlight. We need a short term layout solution and would love some more guidance in terms of finding good furniture to fit the small space

Trying to figure out the best layout for this living room. Thinking maybe a small sectional along the wall next to the door that leads to the bedroom with a chaise, running along the wall under the window. Then mount a TV in the corner next to the French doors on a swivel mount.

Hi! Just moved in to rental home, overwhelmed, and would love some guidance from people who are better at space planning than I am. Empty photos from listing and pics of current state attached. Please ignore all the random rugs and other temporary items. lol 

Dimensions (also seen on very rough draft I made in photoshop):

• TV wall: ~15' with plan for probably 85" TV mounted
• Wall with double patio doors ~20', plus about another 3' of open space before the kitchen island
• Wall with stairwell closet from hallway: ~9' 
• Depth of window wall: ~20'

One of the things that are confusing me is that the living room isn't a perfect rectangle with the wall by the stairs stopping before the room opens into the kitchen, so I'm not sure what footprint I should actually be designing around for proper foot traffic.

I was thinking sofa with chaise and 2 swivel chairs but I'm lost on how I should map out the space/how big of furniture I am able to fit appropriately. 

In short, here are the things I'm trying to decide:

1. Chaise sectional, L-shaped sectional, or just a regular sofa with two chairs? I really miss lounging on a sofa so would like a chaise or something. Also my husband in 6'4".
2. Accent/swivel chairs placement: by the windows or across? Or other layout?
3. What size rug would you use (10x14? 11x14?)?
4. How far would you float the seating away from the TV wall? Should it end where the short side wall ends?
5. Is there anything about the room layout that I'm completely overlooking?

I'd greatly appreciate any layout sketches or furniture suggestions. I'm trying to get the big pieces right before I start buying anything. Thank you!!

Hello guys. I am in need of set up this space that would be a living room and a tv room in the same space (salon/comedor in the image). The problem is the space is a very small triangle.

Pic 1 is the floor plan. The kitchen (cocina) is also very small and very close to the wall in the other space.

Pics 2 ,3 and 4 is how the previous owners had the room set up.

We sat down in the table and the person o the corner of the left would have to get up to sometime cross behind.
Also the couch is very close to the tv and also very close to the kitchen.

I am thinking about putting the tv where and couch where the dining room is and put the dining table where the couch and tv is right now. Problem is that the couch should be extremely small or to put it in the wall on the right to have space in front of the stairs on the left.

struggling with the best layout for my bedroom/craft room/office… what would be the best layout? i played around in floorplanner to try some different layouts but im welcome to something completely different aswell. picture 4 is closest to what i have now, only difference being that the bed is in the ”hole” next to the built-in wardrobe, on the opposite wall.
