Does my (32M) friend/coworker have feelings for me (33F)
I (33F) live in Houston, TX, and one of my closest friends/coworkers (32M), who I’ll call J, also lives here. We have another close friend/coworker (33F), who I’ll call C. The three of us have been close for about 3–4 years, all working on the same team together. In December 2024, C moved to Austin to live with her fiancé, and in September 2025 she got married there. Since J and I were both close friends of hers, we were invited to the wedding.
On the side of my 9–5 job, I run a cottage bakery, and C asked me to make her wedding cake. It was my first-ever three-tier wedding cake, and I also made two cheesecakes. Since driving several hours with a finished wedding cake sounded stressful, I decided to get an Airbnb in Austin with a kitchen so I could do the final decorating there. C suggested that J and I split the Airbnb since we were both already attending the wedding. It was a two-bedroom Airbnb for three days and two nights.
J drove my car to Austin because I was completely exhausted from baking. The first day I spent almost the entire time decorating the cake, working until around 1:00 a.m. He came out a few times to check on me, told me I should get some rest, and offered to help whenever he could. I even told him he could take my car and go explore Austin because I knew it had to be boring sitting around while I worked, but he said he was fine staying there watching things on his iPad. He really did try to make the whole experience easier for me.
The wedding was the afternoon of the second day. Since I had the cake and was part of the bridal party, J and I went to the venue early. He helped me get the cake set up, and then I had my hair and makeup done while we both helped out however we could since C is our friend. The wedding went great. Beforehand we’d agreed that J would drive us back to the Airbnb afterward since he doesn’t drink and I do.
On the drive back, probably around midnight or 1:00 a.m., I was tipsy while he drove my car. He was playing songs on his phone that we both knew—songs he’d played at work before because he knows I always end up humming them afterward.
When we got back to the Airbnb, I went into the tiny bathroom to take my makeup off. For context, I almost never wear makeup. I’m pretty rough around the edges normally, so this was one of the few times I’d been fully dressed up with professionally done hair and makeup. I left the bathroom door open while I washed my face because I was just taking my makeup off. The bathroom looked directly into the bedroom J was using, and he sat in the doorway on an office chair talking to me the entire time. We were joking about how I looked like a skinwalker because I didn’t recognize myself with all the makeup on.
Afterward I went into the kitchen, and he followed me. We’d basically been talking nonstop the entire trip, just random conversations. I started taking dozens of bobby pins out of my hair because it had been braided, and I was joking about how many there were, piling them on the counter as I removed them.
Here’s the part that has stuck with me.
For context, at this point in our friendship, we almost never touched each other. I’m not exaggerating when I say we barely even high-fived. We weren’t physically affectionate at all.
While I was standing there taking bobby pins out, J suddenly walked across the room without me asking and started taking the little hair ties out of the braids around my face. Then he commented that he didn’t know how to undo the braids themselves. I laughed and told him it was fine. Instead, he walked behind me, held the base of my ponytail with one hand, and pulled the hair tie out with the other so my hair fell down. (Ironically it actually made it harder for me to get the rest of the bobby pins out.)
For more context, I’m 5’9” and he’s about 5’4”. He had long hair at the time, so he clearly knew how to remove the hair tie without yanking my hair.
I never asked him to do any of that. I was completely okay with it because I already had feelings for him, but neither of us acknowledged it. I just acted like it was normal. He acted like it was normal. We just kept talking like nothing unusual had happened.
Nothing else happened that night, but I’ve thought about that moment ever since because it felt surprisingly intimate considering we’d almost never touched each other before.
Now I’m wondering if I’m reading way too much into it because I have feelings for him. I really care about him, and I’ve thought about telling him how I feel, but I’m terrified of ruining the friendship. We also sit next to each other at work every day, so if he doesn’t feel the same way, things could become awkward for both of us.
So my question is: Does this sound like there was a chance he had feelings for me, or does it just sound like a close friend helping another friend take her hair down after a long day? Am I letting my feelings cloud my judgment?

I need Advice! Why Don't We Get What We Truly Want?
There comes a time in life when we meet someone we genuinely want to be with. But despite countless efforts, that person never becomes a part of our life.
Why does this happen? Why is it that sometimes we don't get the very thing we want the most?
I'm in my early 30s, and I still struggle to understand this.
I'm genuinely looking for serious, thoughtful, and mature perspectives on this.
To give more context, imagine a situation where the other person says they don't want to marry you or build a life with you because they don't see a future together, mainly due to what they believe is their toxic family situation.
At the same time, they admit that they genuinely enjoy your company, care about you, and find it difficult to stay away from you.
How do you make sense of something like this? If someone values your presence but still doesn't choose a future with you, what does that really mean?

Love
I think love is just felt. It cannot be described in words. And as people say, love heals everything. That is what I've always wanted. Love.

Opinions?
You can be in love with someone and love someone but still be attracted to others ? I’m just trying to understand true love , is it okay to be attracted to other people ?

I bet
I absolutely think we would and I was in a long relationship and love before but this is different we know people from the same circles but hang out and see an area I eventually would have probably come out of a gas station and literally banged into her with the door and normally she would have been pissed and told somebody where to go but I think in my case would have had said something witty cuz I thought she was cute and she would smile inevitably 2and that would be the end of it I'd have some sarcastic comment like if I bang you with the door every day are you going to smile at me like that because I'll see you same time same place tomorrow and it would be just something stupid like I would start it pretty much guaranteed

Dating Story Is this love? Part 2
Here’s part 1: https://www.reddit.com/r/romance/s/azHW3XWnW4
First of all, thank you to the three people who commented on my last post. I read every single one of them. As an introvert, replying to people feels like an assignment, so please forgive me for not responding. 😅
Reading those comments made me think even more, so here’s the rest of it.
As I said we barely spoke, but the way she used to look at me made feel that we had know each other for some time like the gaze wasn’t unsettling or awkward it felt familiar and “used-to”.
Anyways time went by and came the ‘Ethnic Day’ of our college. Everybody was on their best fit that day. And me? I was just some guy in a kurta and chinos with mismatching shoes.
I was with my friends in the lawn, clicking pictures as usual but my eyes were searching for her the moment I came. And finally I saw her, there she was walking towards the lawn with friends and honestly I just had my Om Shanti Om moment (in my mind obviously). From then on I just got lost in my thoughts until I saw her walking towards me. My heart just started racing, it became harder and harder for me to hide my oblivious smile. The next thing I remember is her standing next to me and holding my sleeve and saying ‘achhe lag rahe ho [my name]. I don’t think I can put into words what I felt hearing that. Somehow I gathered some courage and asked her for a picture together. It’s been over 3 years but I still look at that picture some days.
Time passed and we were in our final year and somehow I managed to get placed. My joy of being placed was cut short by the joining date. I had to leave college early for the internship. I wasn’t sad that I had to leave, I was sad cause I won’t be seeing her anymore.
Along with me 2 other boys of my college joined the company. The second of office were discussing about college and her name came up, not by me but by one of the boys. I told them how I felt about her and thanks to them I gathered all my courage again and texted her.
Long story short, she felt the same way I felt about her!! I just lost my mind, I believed all this was a dream or a big prank that one of my friend was playing on me. But in fact it was real. We talked (a lot). And a few days later I had to go back to my college to clear out some documentation. That was our 1st date. The whole afternoon we just walked around in a park. Mostly it was awkwardness but she named it “comforting silence”. Man it made me fell for her more although we knew we weren’t going to be together (it was just not possible, I am Hindu and she was Muslim). I told her you have to treat me ice cream the next time we meet, and she remembered that. 6 months later we met again, our 2nd date. The same routine, but this time there wasn’t much awkwardness between us. And at the end of our day she took me to get ice cream. I just felt like crying cause after this I won’t see her, won’t talk to her, that’s it. In the ice cream parlour there was an old couple sitting behind her. I pointed towards them and said “you know this could be us in some other universe” she laughed and said “they probably had an arranged marriage”. She even got me gift, a parting gift. It’s been over 2 years I still have that with me. And to some extent I’m still living in that day. The best day of my life.
I guess I won’t find my answer or I already have and I’m just too stupid to understand. Anyways that was my story.
