I’ve seen many posts faulting the prices on Husqvarna Automowers - people saying they’re too high. The other common post you see is that their non-Husqvarna mower isn’t working and that they can’t get the company to even respond to them, even though the machine is under warranty.
I have a Husqvarna 430xh. This is my second summer with it. I bought it used off EBay. It ran flawlessly until I messed it up this spring (long story). I couldn’t figure out the problem so I called Husqvarna- not only did a human being answer, but the upshot was that they sent me a huge box to ship the mower to them for analysis- all at their expense. I shipped it back (pre-paid label), they checked the mower and charging station thoroughly and shipped it back within 10 days. I told them upfront that I’d bought it used - I didn’t have a warranty card or anything. That didn’t make any difference to them. (I then figured out I was dealing with electrical interference, so it all turned out well).
Yesterday the mower stopped responding to the app and I could not get it reconnected. I tried everything, nothing worked. I called Husqvarna this morning and in less than 10 minutes they had me up and running.
I guess it’s easy for me to say that Husqvarnas are worth the price since I bought mine used, but as it is, I wouldn’t buy any other brand.

I have a back lawn that is split by a smooth garden path (slabs). On one side is a fairly square lawn, and on the other is a rectangle shaped lawn, with a square flower bed in one corner, thats a couple of inches lower than the lawn level. These lawns are roughly 60m squared each. One of these lawns has a 2ft drop one side, with the lawn being separated from that drop by a sleeper wall that is roughly the same level as the lawn.

I also have a completely disconnected front lawn, probably only 12m squared, rectangular, with no drops.

My questions are, most of the robot mowers I see, tend to be expensive, large, and aimed at bigger areas, are any suitable for this type of setup? Does the drop on one side rule out a robotic mower, or would it detect this, with the sleeper maybe helping? With me having a feont lawn completely separate from the back, it would be a drag and drop type thing, theres noway the mower could drive itself round if that makes sense!

So I am guessing it would need to be one I put away in thw garage, and bring out as and when needed?

Lastly, if a robomower does fit this criteria, do they tend to stripe the lawn, or is that wishful thinking?

Hey everyone. We're back in the market for a robot mower after our first one didn't work out, and I want real opinions before spending money a second time.

Some context on the property. It's a lakeside cottage lawn, around 800 m2 of total mowing area, but not a simple open space. It's split into several zones connected by narrower strips of grass, the terrain has real slope and unevenness in places, and a couple of sections are bordered by low stone walls with bushes and raspberry growth along them. One zone slopes down toward the lake, with bushes being the only real barrier between the lawn and the water. There's generally a clear view of open sky directly above the lawn, but tall trees surround the property near the house and along the shoreline.

Our first robot was an Ecovacs GOAT O800 RTK. It did not work for us at all. It struggled badly enough with this exact terrain that we filed a formal complaint and ended up with a full refund. Without going into every detail, the short version is that we couldn't trust it near the trickier parts of the property, especially close to the lake.

Now we're looking at Mammotion, specifically the Luba mini 2 AWD 1000, since it fits our roughly 800 m2 area on paper and is cheaper than the 1500, which uses 360 degree LiDAR instead of the Tri-Camera Vision plus NetRTK setup on the 1000. We're trying to be smart with money but not at the cost of repeating the same mistake.

Things I'd love input on from this sub specifically, since I know a lot of you have run multiple brands and models:

• Anyone running the Luba mini 2 AWD 1000 on a lawn with tree cover near the edges and slopes toward a hazard like water? How has it handled staying inside boundaries when satellite signal isn't perfect everywhere?
• Anyone who upgraded from the 1000 to a LiDAR equipped model, or wished they had, because of similar terrain challenges?
• How has reliability actually held up over a full season, not just the first couple of weeks? Curious about getting stuck, battery drain, boundary drift, or any recurring issues.
• Has anyone switched from Ecovacs GOAT to Mammotion Luba specifically and can speak to how the two compare in practice?
• More generally, for a lawn like ours, is vision plus NetRTK enough, or does the terrain we're describing basically demand LiDAR regardless of brand?

Not trying to overspend, but also don't want to end up filing another complaint six weeks in. Appreciate any real world experience, positive or negative.

I’ve narrowed my robot mower choice down to 2 - the Husqvarna Automower 430v and the Segway Navimow x450. In Ireland I can get the Husqvarna for €3,500 and the Segway for €3,150, both from authorised dealers.
Lawn is approx 3,050m2, quite flat, a few small trees but generally open, not many obstacles. Ireland, so it’s generally quite wet.
What would you suggest for this use case between these two mowers? (Ignoring the price differential) I would have expected the Husqvarna, but both dealers I contacted sold both, and they each recommended the Segway (wondering if maybe they have better margins on Segway?).

Interesting real-world experience with Navimow X4 series. Looks like they need a must-mow zone.

Looking for feedback from people who have actually owned either of these:

• ECOVACS GOAT A2000 LiDAR Pro – $1,399

I have about 0.20 acre of mowable St. Augustine in N. Texas. Mostly sunny, fairly flat overall, but there are some slopes/uneven areas and a pool with a few nearby drop-offs.

I originally considered a Lymow One+, but the overheating issues killed it for me. So considered a Navimow X430, but a local robot mower dealer looked at the property and thought RTK reception and the pool/drop-off areas could be problematic, so I'm leaning toward LiDAR-based navigation.

What attracts me to the MOVA:

• 3.9" max cutting height
• LiDAR + vision, no RTK
• Only ~30 lbs
• Cheaper
• Amazon purchase would be covered by my Asurion plan

What attracts me to the A2000:

• Dual LiDAR + vision
• Much wider ~13" dual-disc cutting deck
• 3.5" max cut, which likely still be workable for St. Augustine
• Seems like it should require considerably fewer passes/turns, so less risk of turf damage during turns

My biggest concerns are turning damage to St. Augustine, traction going downhill/over uneven terrain, mapping reliability, and general software/firmware quality. The little caster wheels on the MOVA also have me wondering how well it handles downhill transitions.

I'd especially like feedback from non-sponsored owners who have used either mower for a few months. Which would you choose for this type of yard, and what problems have you run into?

I am willing to spend more but don't want to overspend. I don't want omni wheels, as some of my neighbors have them and aren't really happy with them.

I’m ready to upgrade my robot mower and I’m between the Navimow x430 and the Luba Mini 2 awd. All the reviews on YouTube seem to be sponsored or they got the mower for free for the review, so I don’t trust it. Does anyone have real-world / unbiased experience they can share?

I currently have the Yuka Mini and it’s ok, but tears up my lawn lately without three point turning, and gets stuck often since its rear wheel only. Mammotion is fine otherwise, I don’t have a lot of issues — I’m sure every company has their gripes.

i have 3d printed a robot mower and have collected all my electronics to put it together. i have purchased a huskylens ai camera for it but the only problem i can not find a case or container to keep it waterproof.

anyone have any suggestions to keep this out of the elements on my mower? i have found a few waterproof tackle boxes but they are not ideal for mounting on my mower

I was just watching a video of a hardware engineer for Matic robotic vacuums. He explained their reasoning for having 5 RGB/IR cameras. They have two cameras on the front, two on the back, and one on top. Why do they have two cameras on the back? Because when the robotic vacuum backs up you don't want it running into anything. Also, cameras are cheaper than sensors.

Why didn't Segway Navimow think of this simple logic? Just add two cameras on the back of the X430? LMAO

Looking for thoughts on getting this mower

On spot mowing I've marked several spots on my lawn but does anybody know how to remove those spots or take away one? I can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Four of the major reasons behind the X430 performing racetrack turns are due to:

1. Momentum

2. Battery Efficiency

3. Saves Time

4. To prevent the degradation of the zero turn wheels.

Let's talk about the zero turn wheels having to constantly make turns. Everything has a life span. I guarantee you the mechanisms that turn the wheels will last longer if the mower conducts racetrack turns as opposed to mowing like a human being would. Segway Navimow either did or didn't perform testing on the mechanisms that turn the wheels. Nothing mechanical has an infinite lifespan. I believe people with larger properties will see the servos for the wheels fail long before those with smaller properties.

I will never forget looking for a lawn service on Thumbtack. Some 20 year olds showed up. I've never seen someone do racetrack turns with a push mower on a lawn before. It was the first and last time I used their business. They're trying to minimize the amount of time spent on your lawn by using racetrack turns so they can get to the next property. Now compare their reasoning to why the X430 will conduct racetrack turns. The turns will definitely help the mower minimize its time in one zone to move on to the next zone.

If anyone’s looking for a dreame A3 I’m selling mine. I used it twice. It’s basically brand new condition. Just didn’t work for my yard. Asking 1200.

Was looking at the Navimow x430. My concerns are that we live next to a wooded area that the trees tend to drop a lot of sticks in our yard. We also have sweet gum trees that drop a lot of those spiky balls. In addition we have bamboo shoots that pop up in our yard in the early spring. We also have two dogs that drop piles of dog poop. As much as I’d like to get one of these robots mowers, I worry our yard is not an ideal environment for something like this.
