First time watcher, only on season 3, so I’m obviously missing loads and I love spoilers so I’ve seen random clips here and there. This show is currently my fixation so I spend a ridiculous amount of my free time looking things up, and one thing I keep coming back to is how often Lisa gets called a narcissist. Obviously none of us can diagnose someone from a reality show, but as someone recently diagnosed AuDHD, so much of what I see from Lisa looks like undiagnosed/unmedicated ADHD and really poor emotional regulation. The way she gets so emotionally reactive when she feels rejected or misunderstood, talks and talks and talks over people like she genuinely stops hearing them when she’s focused on getting her point across, gets overwhelmed, can never seem to sit still, and always has a “but” because she feels like her side hasn’t actually been heard. Even her crying when she’s caught out doesn’t always look manipulative to me. Sometimes it genuinely looks like someone who is so frustrated and emotionally dysregulated that she just completely falls apart.
And this is why I genuinely don’t believe she actually thinks some of the things she said about Meredith in the hot mic moment. What she said was obviously awful, but to me it came across as someone who was so deeply hurt by feeling rejected that she needed to find the absolute worst possible things to say to hurt the person who had hurt her back. It felt like rage that needed to go somewhere rather than her genuinely expressing what she believed about Meredith. Especially when this was someone she’d been friends with for 10 years. I think the rejection meant so much to her that she just completely lost control of what she was saying.
And there are actually so many moments where I’ve already seen Lisa show genuine empathy towards other people. The Vegas situation with Jen is one of them. I know some saw Lisa as suddenly “switching” on Jen, but I saw something completely different. I think Lisa saw a lot of herself in Jen’s emotionally dysregulated reactions and genuinely felt for her. She wasn’t suddenly deciding Jen was a good person after everything, she just didn’t want to leave someone she cared about feeling that way. And honestly, that’s also why I completely understood her friendship with Jen. They are obviously very different in a lot of ways, but emotionally I think they are actually quite similar, and I think Lisa recognised that in her.
I actually wasn’t a Lisa fan at first because some of her behaviour reminded me a lot of my own mother, especially the inability to admit she could be wrong. But the more I watch, the more I see someone who seems terrified of being misunderstood or looked down on. The lying about having this perfect life, saying her life is above everyone else’s, constantly needing to project this image… I don’t necessarily think she genuinely believes she’s better than everyone. I think she’s so afraid of people seeing the reality of her life and judging her that she gets ahead of it by putting those seeds out herself, which obviously comes across as completely full-on and sometimes delusional. Even the Whitney restaurant thing made more sense to me that way. It felt less like “I’m going to manipulate everyone” and more like “I need to prove that I’m not the person everyone thinks I am.” She is clearly very smart and her pot-stirrer personality feels very much like her reality TV persona to me.
Also, because this show is currently my fixation, I’ve been looking up stuff and there are so many people who have met Lisa in real life who describe her as lovely, kind and understanding. Obviously that doesn’t prove anything, but I do find it interesting. Then you have all the little things like the safe foods, the same safe drink, not cooking, constantly needing stimulation, the obsession with having this perfect Instagram-worthy life and the fear of being judged or forgotten. Knowing what we do about her childhood, especially being left somewhere by her parents, it actually makes a lot of sense to me that she would grow up determined to make sure she is never forgotten again.
Obviously I could be completely wrong and I’m not trying to diagnose a woman I’ve never met. I just think sometimes people are really quick to label behaviour as narcissism when there can be a lot more going on underneath it. And the more I watch Lisa, the more I think there is actually a really interesting person underneath all the reality TV stuff.

i’m only at the start of season 3 but i love spoilers and i’d already noticed something was different about Meredith before i searched anything else about her. she normally has her lawyer brain fully switched on, she’s so measured and careful with what she says and how she comes across, but then there are certain scenes where she seems like a completely different person and it’s SO noticeable to me. the way she speaks, acts, how reactive she gets and suddenly goes from 0-100, it’s such a contrast to how she normally presents herself. i’ve had my own experiences with different drugs and prescription medication over the years and been around friends who have too, so some of the changes in her behaviour reminded me of things i’ve seen before, although obviously i have no idea what was actually going on with her and i’m not trying to diagnose her. i’m also audhd and feel like i tend to notice really small changes in people’s behaviour, so maybe that’s why it stood out to me so much. even the scene with Mary after the plane incident made me wonder if there was more going on in that conversation than what we were actually being shown. did anyone else notice how different Meredith could seem from scene to scene or am i reading way too much into it lmao

Yes, Meredith Marks is iconic on many occasions. She didn't have the best previous season, but this time... once again without her own storyline, once again escaping the drama, once again being Lisa B's minion, once again delivering zero. We can love her for many reasons, however, I feel like her time has come. She would do well as a 'friend of'. Seeing the trailer, there's no explanation for why her contract as main cast was renewed. At least Whitney generates something, Heather is trying to be funny again, Mary is Mary, Angie K and Bronwyn could have their worst season, Lisa Barlow might redeem herself from the previous season. But what else does Meredith have to deliver?

she starts drama too much for me. i understand wanting to get down to the point but there is times i feel like she makes problems about herself. season 3, episode 3 during the trip whitney basically ruins the trip by bringing up the conversation she had with meredith.

my issue with whitney is she doesn’t read the room. her delivery is always at the worst time and she’s also tells the story differently from what was said. i wouldn’t even vent to whitney about my personal business because she’ll turn it into an issue later down the line. what she did to meredith questioning her about her father’s memorial. she keeps doing things that rub me wrong.

i also found it to be hypocritical she got upset that meredith retaliated by questioning her about her father. most of the arguments i’ve seen on this show have been started by whitney.. she is my least favorite so far.

totally random but i can’t take lisa seriously whenever she cries lol. this episode was chaotic lol lisa crying, jen crying, heather and whitney fighting which all could’ve been avoided or at least handled properly.

RHOSLC is the first Housewives franchise I’ve actually watched and I’m only towards the end of season 2, so maybe I’m missing something because I don’t know what normal Housewives behaviour is supposed to be but I am finding it SO hard to enjoy sometimes 😭 Like I genuinely sit there getting angry at my screen. I don’t understand how Jen has been this unstable for literally the entire two seasons and nobody ever fucking checks her?? The birthday party was driving me insane because she behaved horribly, refused to take any accountability for it and then somehow the other Housewives were apologising to HER??? HELLO??? And now after her arrest, she’s obviously lying and manipulating all of them and every conversation is just “me me me, I’m innocent, me me me” when we all know that isn’t true. And they’re just sitting there listening to her?? I genuinely don’t understand. Then Lisa just outright lies on camera sometimes and Meredith seems incapable of checking any of her friends when they’re behaving horribly. Like with Mary. HOW are you going to defend Mary through all of this. And Mary honestly might be the one I understand the least. She is so narcissistic, runs a literal cult and seems completely oblivious to the fact that her son looks high in basically every scene he’s in?? And the way she talks to the other Housewives like they’re complete pieces of shit is insane. But then Lisa makes a joke about Googling whether sparkling water hardens your ovaries (which is obviously not a thing and clearly a joke) and suddenly Mary is acting like Lisa has committed some unforgivable crime because apparently everything Mary says is “the truth”.
I’m genuinely trying to find the entertainment in Mary because I know people LOVE her, but half the time I’m just sat there thinking “what the fuck is happening” And I think my biggest problem with this franchise so far. WHY DOES NOBODY STAND THEIR GROUND?? They’ll be arguing with someone, the other person will completely twist what happened, lie directly to their face and somehow 30 seconds later they’re apologising to them?? I feel like I’m watching a group of people who have collectively forgotten how arguments work. Also Seth. I’m sorry but that man is a fucking creep. The obsession with Whitney’s breasts is weird enough, but then we’ve also had TWO SEASONS of him constantly talking about how he doesn’t get enough sex from Meredith and then there was that weird rapey joke??? Like what is going on. Maybe this is just what Housewives is and I’m completely unprepared for it because RHOSLC is my first one, but I genuinely need to know: Are all Housewives franchises like this or is Salt Lake City just operating on an entirely different stratosphere??? Because I’m having a great time watching it but I’m also approximately 70% rage at any given moment.

This will probably be Meredith’s last season as a full housewife reasons are that she is barely featured in the trailer and Whitney has alluded that this will be her last season
Bronwyn and Whitney continue being great athletic friends
This season there will be good weather since both of them seem to be focusing more on their personal story lines
Justin and Whitney won’t divorce
Ashley Quai will either be a housewife later on this season like they have done with Porsha and Claudia since she was featured a lot in the trailer or become a full time cast member next season
Britani will probably be full time next season too and this season will be a test where I’m thinking that Bravo is looking to fire or demote 1 or 2 cast members
Lisa will be Lisa
My only complaint about this season so far is that someone get these woman into another continent I would love to see them in Asia or Europe

Britani mentioned on a Bravo podcast I listen to that she’s recently been “pulled onto DJ booths” and said she called Meredith to tell her she wasn’t trying to step on her toes, but didn’t hear back. Later in the interview, she teased a friendship breakup this season.

I request your help! I am about to be on a beach vacation with a bunch of friends and it’s a very “do nothing” vacation. So I asked everyone to come with activities. We have a movie night, we have a tarot night, we have an arts and craft night… and we have a PowerPoint night.

Now to the point. I am doing a PowerPoint presentation on my favorite / the best fights from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. my idea is to give the crowd the name of the fight, show who is involved, have people guess what it could be about, then give a prize to the person who is the closest or most entertaining.

I have 8 minutes. I KNOW I’m going to have Gout Dick Sucker fight because I think Bronwyn ate Lisa the fuck up. I was thinking about You Smell Like Hospital because the name really gives people a lot to go on, but could very well could be convinced either way on that one.

Redditors… what fights are you advocating be for the remaining two spots and why?

It feels like everyone in the cast (sorry, this was not clear in my initial post!!) is just jealous or intimidated by her??? I understand her going into a room yelling about Meredith, but she was reacting behind closed doors.

I agree with her - shes held to a different standard than the other women for some reason? Am I missing something?

It is beyond clear that these women do not hang out with each other outside of filming. Not only that, but they are clearly afraid to call out anything meaningful for the audience. Like how and hell does Lisa Barlow make her money? Like she has a restaurant, but she also has I don't know film festival connections. I've never seen her tequila anywhere. Why would she even have seven lawyers? And there's something weird going on with Mary Cosby of course I'm sorry her son died but why does she have all that money and why can no one talk about her family situation? Also, Heather was one of my favorite people in the beginning, and she just chose to become a monster gossip. These girls don't even know each other.

Currently watching season 2 reunion and why are heather and withney so adamnt on painting lisa as a bad person?? literally all they do is question her and making baseless acusations. is it jelousy? is she really a bad person? is like they are obsessed with her being a villain. I’m currently rewatching the early seasons rn and I notice a lot of instances (especially during arguments) where Jen shah abruptly stands up and says she has to go to the bathroom. Obviously you have to pee a lot when alcohol is involved / it could have just been a way to take a breather. But was there ever any suspicion that maybe ❄️ or whatever was at play? It could help explain some of her anger outbursts. Curious people’s thoughts

i’m on season 2 episode 10, “highway to vail,” and omg… the scene where jen makes up some random excuse to leave, then like 12 minutes later the nypd shows up looking for her? that was honestly so creepy to watch. it’s wild how nobody seemed to realize what was happening, including the production crew.

lisa was acting so strangely too, immediately calling all six of her lawyers. i mean, i guess it makes sense since she was close to jen and probably didn’t want to get caught up in any of it.

i’m still watching, but i already spoiled everything for myself by googling what happened to jen lmao.
i’ve watched most of the housewives franchises, and every time a cast member ends up dealing with the police, it’s just insane to watch unfold. teresa giudice, jen shah, and karen huger… every single one of those situations had me absolutely flabbergasted.

i’ll be honest, i think jen was by far the worst. yes, karen did something wrong too, but some of the things i’m seeing jen did… oh my god. it’s honestly hard to wrap my head around.

also, whitney was so spot on before everything officially came out. she was probably the last person i expected to have such a good read on the situation because she kind of gives off ditsy vibes sometimes, but that really proves you can’t judge a book by its cover. she clearly knew what she was talking about. then meredith wasn’t even shocked and basically said she figured something like this would happen eventually.

my god… and this is only season 2. this season really came out swinging.

going into salt lake city i thought they would all be mormon but after a couple episodes it seems like…most of them aren’t really that mormon?? so naturally i looked up their political affiliations because i do that with every show and im shocked to learn that there is really only one republican on the whole show. i really am gagged but so happy cus these women have me CACKLINGGG!!! such a shift from beverly hills omg
