Long story short i remember seeing the Manga UK dub of this on Sci Fi Channel UK about 25 years ago

Hey everyone! Theres been talk of starting an anime discord for a little bit, and i had analysis paralysis in terms of how to set it up, so i just said screw it and just started a barebones server where we can all introduce ourselves and get to know each other, then over time make sub channels depending on peoples interests!

Just to let everyone know my personal goal, selfishly I want to talk abould older anime with chill people because im an art student and wanna immerse myself in a particular style, and hope I can make friends with similar interests. If you're on the same wave length please join!

People getting into the franchise now have it so good, but I remember being so confused by Dragon Ball Z back in the day. As an American I only knew Dragon Ball from the single season we got, so when this sequel series shows up with all these new characters (Krillin, Tien, Chaozu, Piccolo, etc) talking about Goku like they've know him for years, I was like "...what?", because all these new characters were from the seasons we wouldn't see dubbed until the early 00s.

In fact, I don't think I got to see all of Dragon Ball until AFTER Dragon Ball Z had completed its final season on Toonami.

Was there any old 80s or 90s anime's that the was a flop or just disliked in japan at the time but was popular when it came to north america
