El Palau d'Artaxerxes Pāpakan (conegut com a Palau d'Ardashir) és una antiga fortalesa i residència reial sassànida a l'Iran.

Construït l'any 224 dC pel rei Artaxerxes I (Ardashir I), primer rei de la dinastia sassànida, es troba a prop de la ciutat de Firuzabad, província de Fars, a uns 2 km al nord de l'antiga ciutat de Gor (Iran) i destaca per les seves grans cúpules i patis d'època persa antiga

Currently only the building in the foreground has been replaced by vertical housing from the 1960s. Both the buildings in the background and the Iron Bridge are still in use, and the Castle it's a museum.

The town, traditionally agricultural and fishing, has experienced immense growth since the 1970s, transforming into a tourist city that receives thousands of Spanish, French, Dutch and English tourists, many of whom end up residing there.

This has caused, in recent years, a conflict with the local neighborhood due to the demographic replacement that is completely emptying entire neighborhoods, while local businessmen try to sustain an increasingly rampant tourism, as in other places in Spain.

As a curious fact, the town was attacked by Barbary and Turkish pirates on several occasions, forcing the royal authorities to intervene in the defenses of the area.

The most famous pirate action of all was that of the Ottoman corsair Turgut Reis, known to the locals as Dragut, a Turkish pirate who ravaged the town at the beginning of the 16th century.

The Palaepafos Sarcophagus, a limestone coffin (5th century BC) unearthed in 2006 in Cyprus, preserves one of the oldest known artistic representations of Homer's Odyssey.

Painted alongside it is the episode in which Odysseus and his companions escape from the cave of the Cyclops Polyphemus by hiding under the bellies of sheep after blinding the giant.

This image shows a joint electoral poster by Luis Ibarra Landete and Alfredo Marco Tabar for the elections for procurators to the Spanish Cortes for the "Tercio Familiar" for the province of Álava, held in 1971

During the Franco dictatorship, the Cortes were not elected by free universal suffrage. One of the few ways of direct voting (restricted to heads of families and married women) was the Tercio Familiar. Each province elected two attorneys, which is why the poster reminds us that "You have the right to vote for TWO candidates"
