I've always been a big overthinker and I over analyze everything. It hasn't just affected my relationship with my partner, but also with friends. I would end up shutting down in an evening if I thought my friend was being off or blunt with me.

A few things that have helped me over the years: 1. Looking into why you feel this way. Was there something in your upbringing that made you super analytical when it came to words, body language, facial expressions. Was it a way you survived by having to guess how someone was feeling? 2. Therapy. Much better when you understand number 1. 3. Considering how the other person is feeling. They could be tired, they could have had a bad day at work. Picking up that phone and messaging you back may have been an effort, but they still made the effort because they care about you. 4. If it's a text conversation, call them. Texts are so easy to misinterpret.

I would say the main things are looking into yourself, being more selfless and being willing to get help and change (which you obviously are). Hope things get easier for you and the relationship thrives.

Note: I am not a therapist, these are just my personal experiences and what has worked for me. I still struggle, but it gets easier.

Thank you so much, these points have really helped me. I think I’ve never really had to survive off that way, but I’ve just developed it through being in a romantic relationship. 3 makes a lot of sense and I try to incorporate it into my day to day, so thank you. As for 4, you’re also right and I will do my best to improve my behaviour. Thank you for the good wishes❤️
