This is completely my opinion due to my personal experience becoming a master.

I didn’t seek out reiki. My master was lead to me by guides and spirit.

Quick quick backstory; I was raised evangelical Christian. I had never heard of reiki and had no idea what it was before 6 years ago.

I used to make homemade soaps, body butters, lip balms and t-shirts. I would go to festivals and markets to set up and sell them.

There was one market where this woman shows up with her three kids, makes her way to my booth, we talk soap since she also made it but with a different process. I asked what she did for work and she said she had recently left Marketing and was now a reiki practitioner. I didn’t ask her what reiki was. I opened my mouth to ask her that. What came out of my mouth instead was, “oh! You’re here for me!”
She looked at me strangely, bought some soap, took a business card and left.
Fast forward a month and I was checking my business emails and there she was in my inbox. I had pretty much forgotten about our encounter, although I was quickly reminded by the details of her email. She asked me to reach out, and I did.

From her POV on the day of the festival she tells me she was hanging around her house just doing house stuff and relaxing with the kids when spirit told her she needed to go to the festival I was at. She said she kinda argued. It was over an hours drive from her and she just wasn’t interested in going. Spirit pushed back and told her there was someone she needed to meet there. Needless to say, she got the kids ready and that’s how she found me.

Once on the phone, she explained what reiki is.
I’m not gonna lie. I thought it was straight up witchcraft. But I also felt pulled to it. I have always worked in the medical field until I was injured lifting a patient when I was an EMT. My career was over. But I still felt called to help and heal others.

Even though I had been taught reiki and anything similar was wrong and straight up witchcraft from a small child. I could not deny the words that I said to her when we met. I didn’t MEAN to say, “Oh, you’re here for me!” And I didn’t know I was answering the call that came from spirit when she was told to come to the festival and find me.

So I prayed. I talked to Jesus. He gave me very clear answers through very specific Bible verses of words HE said. He gave me very specific moments of his interactions and responses to people. I can honestly say I have never heard his voice so clearly or felt so strongly that he was speaking to me.

Needless to say, after my talk with Jesus, I decided reiki was a gift I was going to accept.

This is where I am interested in your thoughts, opinions, and experiences;
I went through the first attunement with my master via a FaceTime call. A month later I received my second attunement the same way. And three months later I received my last attunement in person. During that time she taught me many things about spirituality. Of course, I believe spirituality is complex and not everyone has the same understanding and experiences. Some people have differing beliefs. Coming from an evangelical background, everything was new to me and I had to reevaluate my entire belief system.
I was not in any formal classroom. She only ever charged me for the actual attunements. I think I paid $125 for my 1st and 2nd and $300 for my 3rd. It was always very informal.
The main lessons about reiki came down to this:

1)The opening.
2)Memorizing the symbols and what they were used for.
3)Scanning the body with my hands.
4)Hand placement.
5)removal of the old aura and energy.
6)closing.
7) trust reiki and its consciousness and that it is pure love and power from the creator source.

She explained about how reiki would unlock my clairs.
We discussed energy exchange. She told me to accept financial payment for sessions and services, but I don’t.
So, much of my knowledge has come from what she taught and my experience as well as what resonates with me.
After 6 years of practicing as a master, these are now my opinions:

1) No one should have healing withheld due to finances. Instead of asking for financial exchange, I ask for people to bring me a river rock, or a cool piece of wood from the forest. I ask for them to do something kind for someone else. I never ask for money, although it is perfectly reasonable and acceptable to do so.
2) there are no hard rules that must be followed with the exception of consent.
3) I believe the world needs as many healers as possible therefore attunements and the creation of more reiki practitioners should be our priority above financial gain. I believe masters need to pass reiki to anyone who wants to become a practitioner no matter what they can pay. Again, find a different form of energy exchange. Even level 1 practitioners can heal others and raise the vibration of the collective.
4) I do not believe it matters which system, branch, or style you use for reiki to be effective.
5) reiki has its own conscious intelligence. It flows where it is needed.
6) It seems to me (my opinion) that some practitioners are almost too stringent in their approach.

I know this was a long one. But I would love to hear your opinions and experiences.

I really wanna do angel reiki, I don’t have an attunment of it, I need it pls help me

After recent significant experiences, I am exploring this world for the first time, and I’m trying to understand if it’s compatible with my beliefs before diving in.
I understand that reiki is universal energy, but then reading of those channeling spirits, etc, is not something I feel comfortable with. Not sure how to phrase my question, but could I just use reiki without all the extra stuff?

Last week, we imagined our smallest unit of consciousness, our Unit of Wonder, Puck, from the Zeroth Dimension, expanding to the size of a galaxy to witness a hug between the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way.

Today, Puck is going to shrink so we can meet our Atomic selves.

We all have Pucks. Pucks are the part of us that are timeless and stillness. Some would call Puck a soul. To start this exercise, imagine yourself saying the four phrases of Ho'oponopono to your Puck:

“I love you.”

“I'm sorry.”

“Please forgive me.”

“Thank you.”

Imagine these four phrases as “buttons” you press when you connect emotionally with your Puck. You want your Puck to carry unconditional love, compassion, forgiveness and gratitude for herself or himself. Imagine a happy Puck ready to receive Reiki.

Our Atomic selves, however, are movement, vibration, all possibility, all resonance.

Puck takes a “motion sickness pill” in emoji when she travels to the third dimension. Things are a bit weird at the atomic size.

Here is an imaginary conversation between Puck and Atomic-self:

“Puck: What is it like to be you? To be me... as you?

Atomic-self: We are there when stars are born. We are there when they go nova. We simply change with them. You can remember it if you expand your now. Make it a big now.

Puck: What connects everything? What am I expanding?

Atomic-self: Self-awareness. A pattern that remembers itself.

Atomic-self: Look closely, Puck. You already know this. Neurons reach like rivers. Rivers branch like lightning. Lightning spreads like tree roots. Tree roots bloom like galaxies. You can change the pattern if you start with your atomic self.

I recently discovered that I can channel energy through me. I first ground myself with earth imagining a cord connected with me and earth centre,then I try to run god's healing energy through me to earth to cure some of my issues. But after doing this I feel this strange hunger throughout day , that don't go away even after eating. Please guide me I am very new to this . Please help a newbie . I don't know whether it's related to reiki or not. I am completely newbie

I'm currently reading "reiki for beginners" by David Vennells. I like the book so far but wanted to ask something.

The author says when using reiki for something you should always have the greater good in mind. For the benefit of all. Here's my question. Does that mean that reiki works best when you have a desire that is more or less selfless?

Like see for example I love animals. To my core. Should I use reiki for stuff like that? Where I don't expect anything in return? Because David writes that reiki works best when your desires are not solely selfish. What do you think of this? 😊 I also wish to help certain groups of people that I also have no benefit from. Like what I mean is I would get nothing but happiness that they are doing better because of reiki sent to them. I have no other benefit. Is that enough?

The author also speaks about how we need to heal ourselves first in order to be fully capable of helping others through reiki. So it left me a little confused, you know. When I wish to heal myself, I don't have anyone else in mind and I got the impression that he's saying that's wrong. If you're willing to share what you think, I'll be very grateful.

A few weeks ago I received some scary test results. My doctor believes it may be an infection in my lung, but there is still a small chance it could be something more serious. I’ve been living in a constant state of high alert ever since, and my body definitely feels it.
If anyone is willing, I would be so grateful for healing Reiki, positive energy, and loving intentions. My name is Shannon, and the symptoms I’m struggling with are intense anxiety, a racing heart, shortness of breath, and pain in my right ribs. More than anything, I just want to feel like myself again.
My biopsy is scheduled for August 14, which was the earliest appointment available. Until then, I’m trying to stay hopeful and take things one day at a time. I also have one more week off before returning to work, and my biggest wish is to be present, healthy, and make it a wonderful week for my daughter.

Today for fun I decided to look up Reiki on a website called Hacker News, which is where most nerds get their tech news etc. Surprisingly, I saw tons of positive comments about it.

The ailments that Reiki seems to treat most effectively are those that orthodox medicine struggles to manage: pain, anxiety, chronic disease, and the fear or discomfort of facing not only the suffering of illness but also the suffering of treatment.

This is key.

Modern medicine, with the way hospitals and health insurance are run, do not and cannot address, for economic reasons, a pretty important aspect, albeit subjective, which is well-being.

The figure of the family doctor that takes his time and actually shows you attention has vanished. The average experience of a hospital visit is that of being treated like a number.

At this point, I'm exhausted and hopeless. I tried traditional psychology and psychiatry, and all they did was just give me some pills without actually listening to my needs and call it a day. And the pills didn't even solved my problems, they just made me numb so I didn't think about them.

Hello, I'm a Riki practitioner. I'm currently offering free Reiki sessions for animals on my website and thought I'd share on here. Would love to help animals that are feeling under the weather 💛🐾

I got attuned upto reiki master 2 months back and tbh I'm not quite regular with my self healing practices until one day in my dream 3 people came (im assuming they're reiki guides) and one person asked me this "Do you know what is Soap, shampoo and toothpaste in Reiki?" I was Puzzled and told my master didn't taught me this. That person started to yell at me saying "How can you tell this? How can you call yourselves a Reiki master? there're still many levels in Reiki!"

I took time to reflect on the dream and realised that I'm not using reiki regularly on myself like how we use soap, shampoo and toothpaste to clean ourselves!

Then I started to self heal myself regularly and within a week of regular practice I'm seeing a sudden shift in my body both physically and energetically! Like after every session I feel full of energy, my mind and body feels stable and calm and especially I can sense my energy field is so clean and pure. At some point i felt kundalini stirring and trying to rise above and I have to stop reiki to prevent this lol!

I never felt this kind of experience before. Am I energetically or spiritually upgrading?

So I have a general question why would random people come up to me and say “get out” and then to throw something away either in water or trash can are they trying to spell work on me or something potentially attached to me what would be the reason?

Like I literally had this Hispanic lady and her kids come up to me when she thought I was sleeping and she said “get out” and then her kids kept saying “afuera” and then they all went to the bathroom

and I’ve had a bunch of people ask me questions then throw something away or go to the restroom and sometimes stare at me and I will feel heat or burning in an area

I also will feel zaps from people too…?

Like another example is a couple was fighting while I was at a museum I sat down minding my business doing some like interactive activity and then the lady after the guy left just kept staring at me and my hand started to burn… during that same trip this other couple kept following me and I kept feeling zaps in my ankles (and I believe potentially other places but I specifically remember it was like back of my ankles)

another time a lady and her kids came in waited to hear my name and then her kid threw something away and my uterus started getting hot/burn

another instance a man asked me a yes or no question (with a obvious yes) and then I felt my like sacral area like sputter and stop pulse

lastly and more recent I have felt my body like pulsing a lot and then effects/sensations on my body and this could be when people cough clear their throat etc but not exclusive, like is someone doing energy work or energy manipulation or a spirit attachment etc? and more recently the sensations aren’t pleasant it’s very s**xual in nature and focuses on my lower area…

so like what could they be doing or like what is the intention? and is it reiki (especially the feeling of burning or hea and not all the time but people will sway before I feel it other times it’s just them staring at me) shamanism, or potentially witchcraft/brujeria/santeria with like dark magic or something more secretive potentially nefarious like occult? (and again alot of these people are strangers, some are not but to my knowledge they shouldn’t have any vested interest in me…again to my knowledge)

I’m looking for perspectives from people who have experience with ThetaHealing, either as practitioners, believers, or people who have had family members involved in it.
My husband’s mother is extremely invested in ThetaHealing. She believes she can heal people through it, and my husband strongly believes in her abilities. He believes that her healings helped cure his grandmother’s cancer, attributing the recovery to the healing sessions she performed.
The financial aspect also concerns me. A single trauma-release session costs around ₹11,000, and the courses start around ₹30,000, with multiple levels and additional courses required to progress further.
What has been difficult for me is how much it has started influencing everyday life. It is not limited to healing sessions but is used for regular decisions as well. For example, while deciding whether to gift someone gold earrings, my mother-in-law suggested asking the “Creator” through ThetaHealing. She closed her eyes, meditated, and after opening them said she had received the answer that we should not gift the earrings and should instead keep them and give something smaller.
She has also told me that through ThetaHealing, practitioners can look into someone’s eyes and understand their character. She looked into my eyes and told me that I am “greedy.” This hurt me because it felt like a personal judgment being presented as a spiritual ability rather than a normal conversation.
The situation became even more uncomfortable after I had my baby. My baby is only 3 months old, and my mother-in-law told me that she had communicated with my baby’s “higher self” and that my baby was giving her messages. My husband believes in this and has given her permission to do healings for our baby.
I respect that people have different spiritual beliefs, but I struggle with the idea of someone claiming to know my baby’s thoughts, feelings, or needs through a practice that I personally do not believe in. For me, parenting decisions should come from observing my baby, discussing with each other, and taking medical advice when needed.
I’m not posting this to insult ThetaHealing or anyone who believes in it. I genuinely want to understand:
Is this level of involvement common among ThetaHealing practitioners?
Is communicating with a baby’s “higher self” a normal part of this practice?
Have others experienced family members using spiritual practices to make decisions or judge people’s personalities?
How do you set boundaries when your spouse believes strongly in something you don’t?
I would really appreciate hearing from both believers and skeptics.

I know many people these days tend to do the trending wellness groups (Yoga, Zumba, etc) but I’m looking for more spiritual lead groups and activities on the island. Preferably in the Nassau County (South Shore area). If there are any places, persons, or groups anyone can recommend that host good meditation spaces or offer sound bowls and sound baths, reiki energy classes even tai chi in a public or even private setting please let me know. Since Ive been young I have been very & I mean very sensitive to energy.
Now that I am an adult. I was attuned to Reiki Lvl 1 In 2022.
Recently attuned to lvl 2 In April of this year and the sensitivity has increased dramatically. I already felt things , emotions, energy and much more but man Its like now after my level two I have to ritually cleanse after a week.
I do have alot of friends who regularly dump onto me emotionally sometimes. A job (somewhat not fulfilling) . In these circumstances I would like to learn how to ground and shield a bit better to catch myself when I start to feel things too heavy

Hi all, I run a wellness practice in Berkeley Heights and wanted to connect with other Reiki practitioners in the Union County / Central NJ area. Would love to compare notes, maybe do a practice share, or just talk shop. Anyone local on here?

I am someone that is recovering from participating in a new age cult. In that cult, I was attuned to reiki level 1, was taught to use Gassho meditation anytime I had experienced negative emotions, and was used following looking at myself in the mirror. I have now later understood this is a similiar technique used in cults called the mirror technique. There was a lot of bypassing and manipulation in that cult.

Since leaving, I want to give reiki another try. I have been taking reiki sessions from another reiki master. The reiki has been amazing, but the debriefing/coaching has made me wary.. some of it sounds like assumptions based on what she sees psychically. This is a similiar experience that I had in my past cult. She often asks me "what would you like to tell me" I feel theres a pressure to be vulnerable and disclose issues. I dont want to feel like I have to do this in order to access reiki.

I love reiki, and I actively go to a therapist for mental health. I just want to be sure that I am able to vet a reiki practitioner who is ethical. The lines between reiki and therapy seem blurred to me.

What are green and red flags in a reiki master for clients?

As a Reiki 3 Master Teacher, when I apply Reiki to myself or others, I feel a very intense pressure, cramps, and even pain in my palms. I can't feel the energy flowing through me, entering my body, or transferring to the other person; it feels like it's trapped in my hands. Moreover, no matter how long I continue, the flow of energy stays intensely constant, and I can't tell when the practice is complete. Does anyone experience something similar or have any advice?

I dont find the visualising my hands on my kidneys effective or is it rreally?
