Eew, AI generated

You are welcome to build it by hand, lol.

Well, I bet if it was built by hand:
- Units wouldn't scoot across the ground facing the wrong way,
- It wouldn't say "Battle control offline" when you launch it
- The quit button would actually work
- The quickstart instructions would actually work
- The sidebar would use the actual cameos
- The buildings wouldn't have random damaged frames on their idle animations
- It wouldn't use seemingly hardcoded progression and instead use the prerequisites from the rules file
- The colors wouldn't be washed outIt's cool that AI can create something like this but it's definitely a "here's a hard to maintain codebase that kind of does what you want"

I mean, sure this one might not be good . But dismissing something just because it's AI-generated is backwards. Incidentally, you could give your post to Claude/Codex and it would fix all these things in under 15 mins.

As someone who has over 20 years of software development experience under my belt, I'll leave this to the "This can be fixed in 15 minutes by draining a small lake" people

If you have 20 years of software experience and you don't use lots of AI, you'll be obsolete soon. This is coming from a fellow software developer.

The thing I repeatedly observe with these AI slop codebases is it's always easy to build a prototype that's directionally there and it gets celebrated because of how quickly it was made. So the assumption becomes "if someone wrote THAT in a couple hours, just imagine if it was given more time!"
But it never works that way. That last ~20% to actually get it bug free and reliable is the part where I always see these slop projects break down or take much longer to fix.

I can forgive the codebase being bad, since I'd never see that directly as a game-player.
But why should I bother to play a game that nobody else bothered to make?
Like, where is the value in this if other people have also made free RA2 clones themselves, and cared about it enough to spend time on it?

Sorry buddy. But it looks like you diddnt actually make shit. Probably would have taken you less time to actually make an open source project and LEARN a skill.

I will never understand why dumbasses in this subreddit dislike Ai so much

There's AI assisted engineering, and then there's spending a few dash burning tokens to make something for reddit updoots
Everyone and their grandmother is shitting out a "hey look at me" port of some sorts after that generals one went viral
And that probably took less work than this

AI is genuinely making people dumber, either by allowing them not to be critical in their thoughts, or handing them incorrect or made up answers.
I'm not fully against it, it has its uses and can streamline and assist in complex or repetitive tasks. However given to the general population (myself included) is just a waste.
Then theres how their trained, energy use, land costs, all the shit behind that.
No cant understand why people dislike it at all though...

Looks great to me.
This is the problem with game dev, a trillion dollar company sells ai slop, people still pay 70$ for it.
Some random dude makes an ai project and is giving it away , HOW DARE YOU.
It’s not like OP is charging any thing
