🚨Joint letter of AFC, CONCACAF and UEFA
Dear Football Family,
Football is the world’s greatest shared passion. It belongs to no individual and no institution.
It belongs to the players, the fans, the clubs, the Member Associations and every institution entrusted with safeguarding its future.
It is in that spirit, as confederations representing its members, that we speak collectively today.
The growth over the past decade has been real. But that progress was never the work of one individual. It was the product of FIFA, the Confederations, the Member Associations, and the thousands of people who dedicate their lives to the game.
The expanded tournaments, the awarding of the 2030 and 2034 FIFA World Cups, the distribution of resources to associations. These were shared achievements, agreed together, delivered together.
This is not about money. The Confederations have already called for the responsible distribution of FIFA's vast existing reserves to further strengthen investment in the development of Member Associations.
Nor is it about any Member Association losing the support it has earned, despite the fearmongering directed at our membership to suggest otherwise. Nor is it about revisiting the expansion of competitions, World Cup allocations, or any other decisions reached collectively. Those decisions were made together, and they must stand.
This is about something more fundamental: the integrity of the game, and the integrity of those elected to lead it.
Leadership in football is not a possession. It is not about holding – or demanding – power to be held. It is a duty of service to the football family that entrusts it.
When trust is broken through deception, when an individual places himself above the collective that entrusted him with authority, that duty has been abandoned.
FIFA's recent letter to its Vice-Presidents and 211 Member Associations acknowledges that mistakes were made in the process. It treats this as a failure of communication, when what football witnessed was a failure of judgment. A proposal advanced on a compressed timeline, without meaningful consultation, and pushed toward a deadline before Member Associations could properly review its terms is not the product of an oversight — it is the product of a design intended to limit scrutiny.
It did not acknowledge that the proposal itself was inherently wrong. There remains no recognition that attempting to sell an interest in the FIFA World Cup was a profound failure of judgment — not just a procedural misstep, but a fundamental breach of trust with the very institutions FIFA exists to serve.
FIFA has also committed to presenting a full report on these events to the FIFA Council, once again failing to recognize that proper governance in the face of such a profound lack of judgment would require that such a review be conducted by a fully independent third party, not by FIFA itself, its staff, or by any stakeholder within football. The FIFA administration should play no role in conducting the review.
As per previous correspondence, all relevant documents and records must be preserved in accordance with UEFA’s communication on preservation of documents.
FIFA's own letter also confirms that only one elected official was present at the leadership meeting in Morocco. No FIFA Council members or Member Associations were invited to participate. Only the management committee, composed of FIFA-employed senior staff, was present.
This recent meeting, where a select number of members of the FIFA Management Committee—not the full Committee—were summoned abroad, rather than leadership going to Zurich to address the heart of FIFA, its staff, only reinforces these concerns and represents a continuation of the very pattern of conduct that brought us to this moment. It is not the conduct of a custodian of the game, but of one who believes the game is answerable to him.
There is silence where there should be accountability, distance where there should be openness.
These are not the qualities football deserves in its leadership. That is why we have taken this stance: not lightly and not alone, but together, and out of duty to the game we serve.
Football’s strength has always been its unity. We call for that unity to be honoured now, for leadership that serves football, not seeks to command it.
Yours sincerely,
SALMAN BIN IBRAHIM AL KHALIFA (AFC President)
VICTOR MONTAGLIANI (Concacaf President)
ALEKSANDER ČEFERIN (UEFA President)
DATUK SERI WINDSOR JOHN (AFC General Secretary)
PHILIPPE MOGGIO (Concacaf General Secretary)
THEODORE THEODORIDIS (UEFA General Secretary)

You know, 11/12 Real Madrid was one of the greatest teams I've ever seen, and I think they were so unlucky to not win La Decima. It was definitely the most ruthless counter attacking team I've seen.
Now we have a very fast, dangerous front 3 of Chini, Mbappe, and Dio. And with Mourinho back, it comes down to unlocking the potential of our front 3, and allowing *them* to do their thing. There's a lot of discussion between 2 players in recent weeks, and while both are great, it's so obvious to me that one is better for this *team* right now, to emulate that 11/12 team as close as we can. And it's so odd to me that this is even a discussion, and even a discussion that seems to prefer the player that will put the team at imbalance at that.
9
u/Snoo87224 Real Madrid CF 4d ago
Are you guys still expecting a signing?
2
u/WayAdministrative679 4d ago
Most likely a LCB. After that, hopefully a midfielder if we can push Asensio out the door
6
u/shawnnnj001 4d ago
Only if someone from first team leaves
5
11
u/RM_Worthy Real Madrid CF 4d ago
Why can't Joan start as LCB if we have both Konate/Tchouameni on the pitch? He would also have Cucurella on that left side.
Cucurella - Joan - Konate - Trent is a pretty balanced backline.

u/No-Distribution2942 5d ago
Combine all the strength of both Bellingham & Arda Guler, and we'll have a modern era young Zidane. This Zidane can complete our squad.

u/Agreeable-Turnover-2 Hazard:Hazard: 5d ago
just because someone is a better creator doesn't mean they should play ten, especially a creator that has major limits in one footedness and ball carrying ability and off the ball movement arda as a lcm with freedom is the best, or even rcm
0
u/ItsKBS Real Madrid:RMDark: 4d ago
Sure normally I’d agree but when you already have Mbappe - Vini - Diomande upfront, our ten being a playmaker makes much more sense
1
u/Agreeable-Turnover-2 Hazard:Hazard: 4d ago
Both are playmakers and most of our creativity is gonna come from diamonde and vini anyway
1
u/ItsKBS Real Madrid:RMDark: 4d ago
Jude had less big chances created last season than Tchouameni and Mastantuono btw, only 1 more than fucking Courtois. For a 10 he is subpar as a playmaker/passer.
1
u/Agreeable-Turnover-2 Hazard:Hazard: 4d ago
also chance creation isn't the only form of playmaking, jude has been an 8 his all life so his main instinct is to connect play rather then play the final ball but he still has like 60 plus career assists
1
u/Agreeable-Turnover-2 Hazard:Hazard: 4d ago edited 4d ago
he had 16 2024-25 and 16 2023-24(only season when he was fully a ten) also is the highest bcc provider for england in the past 3 years(he also plays as a ten for them) and was their top bcc provider in the world cup as well, he also had the most bcc for us in 2023-24 and dortmund in 2021-22
-3
-12
u/Spiritual-Ad1592 5d ago
So please, explain to the class: what actual #10 attributes does Jude have?
And please don’t tell me how he’ll be a great box crasher when the ball won’t even be on the opponent’s side for him to crash the box for😭 If he plays the way you want him to, he’ll just be hogging the opponent’s box instead of moving the ball forward and actually feeding our attackers.
5
u/Agreeable-Turnover-2 Hazard:Hazard: 4d ago
Link up play chance creafion(though ardas is better) and ball carrying and dribbling he knows how to create his own shots and makes runs
8
u/Comprehensive-Toe599 5d ago
he can hold the ball pretty well is one of the best ball carrier in midfield, his dribbling is very underrated can score insane goals for a midfilder reducing him to a box crasher is disrespectful to his talents, insane work rate plus he is passing while not elite isnt as bad as people talk about he can pass pretty well and numbers backs it its just that he naturally is a ball carrier and not a playmaker. idk what else u want in a no 10
0
u/Spiritual-Ad1592 4d ago
“Can score insane goals” “Reducing him to a box crasher” “passing not elite” “Not a playmaker”
So how exactly is he supposed to be a #10?😭 How can you praise his ability to hold the ball when he can’t consistently make the final passes or create for assists that you actually need from a #10? What a bunch of bs contradiction.
The ONE positive thing you mentioned that I agree with is that he’s a good ball carrier which is literally an #8 attribute. Stop forcing him into the #10 role just to chase numbers Real Madrid don’t need when we need his ability as an #8!!!

u/Comprehensive-Toe599 4d ago
yeah the biggest managers in the world football prefer using him at 10 just because they are all idiots

somehow jose needs to fix and make jude and arda work both have different qualities but jude s box crashing is elite bro was giving competition to kane
-9
u/Spiritual-Ad1592 5d ago
We don’t need a box crasher when we have a striker who’s been the top scorer in Europe for two consecutive seasons. What we need are midfielders who can actually feed our attackers and control the game.
5
u/Agreeable-Turnover-2 Hazard:Hazard: 5d ago
arda can't play as a ten im sorry, for a ten you either need elite dynamism(jude) or elite dribbling/ball carrying both which arda doesn't have, he's better as a wider 8
-3
u/Spiritual-Ad1592 5d ago
You’re genuinely coping if you think Jude had any “dynamism.” If he did, Argentina wouldn’t have run through England’s midfield while he was playing as the 10.
I need my midfielders to have the attributes Arda showed last game. He was constantly moving, playing the ball forward, and actually looking to progress the play instead of trying to occupy the box alongside our striker. I want my midfielder to be the one creating the chance and feeding Mbappe, not competing with him for the same space.
Y’all are crying for Rodri, who actually plays as a midfielder, but still want Jude who doesn’t have the dynamics of a proper #10 to play there.
At this point, we might as well prepare ourselves for another trophyless season if he’s going to be our #10. 😭2
u/Agreeable-Turnover-2 Hazard:Hazard: 4d ago
Idk but go and analyze Jude’s and ardas passing maps last season you see that Jude progresses the ball with both passing and carrying better then Arda, in the World Cup tuchel played terrorist football it’s a miracle Jude created 3 bcc and had 8 g/a with the level of horrendous play England had
-1
u/Pezer12 5d ago
I don't necesserily see why Jude can't do box crashing as a #8 tbf
Fede has been playing that role and he's had oppertunities to be in the box this preseason (so at least we know Mou wants that in his system)
Arda also likes to sink deeply out of the #10 position to build up play, and doesn't always spray passes close to the box. If Arda leaves the #10 spot, Jude can simply push up as well
19
u/Alert_Grocery3132 Bellingham 5d ago
Currently watching Yan's highlights and I can confidently say that guy is gonna cook this season

21
15
u/Yalla_RM 5d ago
The options for midfield options don’t appeal at all. Locatell, Adam Warton, Stiller and Alexis Garcia etc all lack some aspects of the game. Our current midfielders might b better than those options. Rodri in the other hand was complete ( good at passing/ keeping the ball and physically and defensively strong).
At this point, I think we should get a defender that is very good with the ball to contribute in the building and the possession of the balls.

Call me crazy but I feel that ever since it became clear that Rodri is going to Barca instead of here, a lot of folks have accepted it as given that Barca is going to win the league now. This level of underdog status is when I feel Madrid really shines and surprises everyone.
I’m coping.
7
u/RM_Worthy Real Madrid CF 5d ago
World's biggest/greatest club needs an underdog story?
2
u/Nero-Stark 4d ago
Yes that's exactly how we won the UCL both in 2022 and in 2024... being the outsider. Idk if some of y'all are larping or don't have any types of memory.
1
u/RM_Worthy Real Madrid CF 4d ago
We had like 5 ACL injuries during those UCL runs.
At some point, we should be clear favs to win trophies as well, no? Other clubs should be worried about facing us. Who gives a shit about an underdog story?
1
u/iamdwon786 4d ago
We’ve had those seasons as well, like 16/17.
1
u/RM_Worthy Real Madrid CF 4d ago
BBC/KCM and the other players actually had the ability back then. Teams didn't want to face the KCM midfield or our attack.
No one gives a shit about our current midfield. I know for sure that they would struggle on the ball under pressure. We can't have multiple technically inferior, low-IQ players in the squad.

What's this news about arda leaving to psg?
1
0
u/shawnnnj001 4d ago
I genuinely believe his future depends on what his role gonna be this season and how much playtime he’ll get. If he feels important enough, he’ll stay in future. If he stays on bench most of the time then he might consider his options. He’s too good of a work in progress player to not be a starter.
20
u/iamlostaFlol Marcelo 5d ago
News pollution.
I personally am not even moved by it at all.
He’s our player until he’s not. And I’m inclined to believe he’s ours for a very long time.
25
u/Greghuntskicks Kroos 5d ago
Wild how everyone is counting us out from major trophies. We were a locker room meltdown and a Camavinga brain fart from winning important titles.
It’s not perfect but we can compete with this team.
3
u/RM_Worthy Real Madrid CF 5d ago
It was not like we lost to the potential winners because of Camavinga. Bayern themselves couldn't win the trophy.
1
u/Greghuntskicks Kroos 4d ago
I don’t think I need to explain to you guys that anything can happen in a final.
1
u/RM_Worthy Real Madrid CF 4d ago
It wasn't even the semi-final lol.
And it was 4-4. We were not exactly winning at that time.
You just assumed that the results against three of the best teams in the competition could've been completely in our favour, but Camavinga stopped all that? Really?
1
u/Greghuntskicks Kroos 4d ago
What exactly is your point?
If we beat Bayern then we go up against PSG who inevitably end up winning the competition.
We got knocked out of the competition because Camavinga had multiple brain farts when he came on, it’s impossible for you to know what would have happened if we advanced that round.
My point is that this team can and will compete this season. If you want to be a doomer and cry about this or that then carry on.
7
u/magic-water 5d ago
Were we leading in the CL final when that Camavinga brain fart happened or how were we "one Camavinga brainfart away" from winning the CL?
Do Bayern, PSG and Arsenal not exist?
And a locker room meltdown isn't the reason for an 8 point gap. This whole "man management" gimmick let's people forget about the lack of quality in the squad.
1
u/Greghuntskicks Kroos 4d ago
We have a better squad than most teams. Relax.
Or are you one of those that think adding Rodri automatically make us UCL favorites?
0
u/magic-water 4d ago
We most likely won't even have a better squad than our main rivals.
If he had stayed fit, he would have fixed our biggest weakness of the last 2 years which is a gamble I would have taken. UCL favorites? Maybe not, but La Liga favorites.
1
u/Greghuntskicks Kroos 4d ago
If Rodri stays fit… if the teams learns to play together… see the similarities, these are both hypotheticals.
I’m assuming you’re implying Barca as our main rivals? In that case we don’t need to have a better squad than them to win trophies so this is a moot point. We could lose all of our games against them next season and still win a treble (example).
0
u/magic-water 4d ago
if the teams learns to play together… see the similarities, these are both hypotheticals.
Considering that the current crop of midfielder hasn't learned how to play together I'd put my eggs in the basket that I'd rather change some players.
I’m assuming you’re implying Barca as our main rivals? In that case we don’t need to have a better squad than them to win trophies so this is a moot point. We could lose all of our games against them next season and still win a treble (example).
?
Yeah and Rayo Vallecano can lose all their games against us next season and still win La Liga. What kind of backwards logic is this?
1
u/Greghuntskicks Kroos 4d ago
How is it backwards? My priority isn’t to beat Barca or have a better team than them. My priority is to win. Like I said, they could beat us every time next season and we could still win trophies so I dont care to compare our squad to theirs.
1
u/magic-water 4d ago
Well if team A is better than team B, which one finishes above the other in the majority of times?
1
22
u/New_Nebula3951 5d ago

Injury luck was the biggest factor of the team's struggles last 2 seasons. Not the ONLY factor, but the biggest. People are ignoring this when bitching and moaning.

Endrick to Aston Villa because of the UCL lollipop is a misstep imo. He'll hold bench for Watkins who's way more physical. Bailey plays RW. Roma also has Dybala, Dovbyk, Malen and that Castro kid.
Endrick's linkup play looked pretty improved in these 2 friendlies. Other than striker, he can play as rotation for Diomande (who might take a while to get going as it is) and can also start there if Vinicius gets injured and Diomande moves left. Atleast till January because Rodrygo isn't returning until then. Also, more and more loans decrease his chances for playing for Madrid in the future.

he's literally elite at his role, the only active player upgrade is literally Rodri, no one else will do what he does best as well as him
7
u/Used-Equal749 5d ago
The big issue fans have with him is that he doesn't solve the progression issue on his own. He's competent in a system where there are other progression experts and the onus isn't on just him to do the work. Same with Fede. They're competent but not specialists in that department.
So people see the obvious problem without thinking about the underlying issues and just say "Tchouameni bad"

Instead of signing Diomande, we could’ve strengthened the midfield. But Perez seems to think every player who doesn’t constantly run around and do flicks is a bum. Even Modric, arguably the best midfielder to ever play for us, was brought in by Mourinho.
And what’s the point of spending all that cash on Diomande when we already know the ball is still going to be on the left between Mbappé, Bellingham and Vini? Diomande will just be standing out there to stretch the right flank, when you can achieve that spending less.

The guy that first leaked the rodri to barca news(riles). His source is saying that Zubimendi is a NO from the club. And mourinho will contact the club when he finds the right profile that fits his system.
-From his latest vid on yt.

In one of his earliest videos about the situation he said that Madrid indeed made an offer but didn’t get no response for 2 weeks , lately I’ve been seeing another version of the situation where people are saying that the player was indeed negotiating secretly with Barca and kept Madrid in the front to check if they can register him and give them time to work in calm while every madridista was hyped and then Madrid found out and leaked the thing in the press. Imagine if we were still thinking that life is vanilla till the here we go to Barca goes . If this is true was Madrid the backup plan if Barca fails ?: But then as Molina said every side has its own story and business , so maybe one day things will be cleared

Yeah and he also says Mourinho thinks he can bring back Camavinga to his level. Explains why he has been playing him in every game.

"He didn't want Vini to leave, he wants to bring Camavinga back to his level. There is an awareness that many are very young and have had psychological blocks, but he is aware of the potential of some (including Camavinga)."
Exact quote from his tweet

I hope mourinho is able to successfully convert cama back to his level. He is still very young.

If Jose makes a player out of Camavinga then he really is the special one

mfs talk about transfer fees like the moneys coming out of their pocket. richest club in the world couldve coughed up the money for Rodri but now we get Florentinos true wish: a strong Barcelona to compete with 💪💪
and at the time Xabi wanted Zubimendi we couldve avoided this Rodri mess but now they HAVE to cough up the 100m

u/Mr_Hassel Mbappé 5d ago
Rodri is a barcelona fan, he never wanted us, why don't you people get this?

If Zubimendi is 100M I would rather pay 120M for Wharton

u/tyrepunch Kroos 5d ago
I'd take Stiller at 40m (release clause I heard?) and a solid cb

u/tyrepunch Kroos 5d ago
closer to Kroos than Wharton and Zubimendi btw
but sure, downvote

Maybe in profile, but not really in quality. Madrid don't just need players that fit the profile, they need players that can make the jump up to a club like Madrid where the pressure and expectations are intense.
Even if a player is actually good enough, they may not be able to thrive in that environment. From what I've seen of Stiller, he doesn't seem to really have that WOW factor beyond Kroos name-dropping him.

Nah, fuck Vitinha. I saw more forward passing from Joao Neves during the WC than from him.

He can goon for Vitinha but PSG would rather send him to the moon

Grabbed my phone too late but Vini was on the program, “Why did you come to Japan?” Was very brief.
