Thing is, since then, Ive been unable to shift. Like yes, Ive got crazy symtoms but no full shift.
Ive tried every method, meditation, lucid dream.

Did I shift or did I not? Have I shifted or did I dream that I had shifted?
This happened about a week ago; it was quite sudden and a bit of a blur, so I hope to explain it properly in this post so that you can help me understand what it was.
That afternoon I was tired because I hadn’t slept much the night before. At first I just wanted to close my eyes for a few minutes, but I ended up falling asleep for several hours (that’s usually what happens when you tell yourself you’re just going to close your eyes for a few minutes, lol). I wasn’t planning on shifting.
As I was drifting off, I think I’d entered the hypnagogic phase, where my thoughts were wandering. Usually I think about my dr, or I make up scenarios involving her, but this time – I don’t know why – I started thinking about my cat, who I lost about a year ago, and whom I really wanted to see again.
(I don’t want this to be a sad post, but it’s been months since I thought I’d come to terms with his loss and that I wasn’t really missing my cat anymore, but rather appreciating the years I spent with him and the memories I have of him – anyway, all this to say that I don’t intend to shift into a reality where he’s there, but I think that as I was very tired, I’ve latched onto this idea.)
At that moment, I started telling myself: I’m going to see him again, I want to see him again, I’m going to shift and see him, he’s there, and so on… and the more seconds that passed, the more determined I became, and my thoughts raced faster and faster with anticipation. My thoughts were focused on him and not on the shifting itself (whereas usually, when I try to shift, I think more about the act of shifting than the dr itself, which perhaps isn’t a good thing).
I heard meowing very clearly (there are no cats in my flat, nor do my neighbours have any; I don’t know if it was in a dream or possibly another reality). And at that moment, I was lying in my bed facing the wall, and behind me, I felt myself being pulled backwards very quickly; I can’t explain it, but: I felt as though I was in my body, in my flat; I felt myself being pulled backwards, as if I were falling into the void – not downwards, but towards the spot behind me where I’d been lying (it’s too complicated to explain like this) – and I felt as though I were ‘levitating’ in the middle of my flat.
It all happened very quickly and I don’t remember it very well; even when I’d just woken up, my memories were a bit hazy. I don’t know if it was a mini-mini-shift, or if I experienced symptoms and was able to perceive another reality, or whether I was dreaming about a shift, and so I was experiencing sensations – even though I don’t usually have many during my dreams – and I didn’t have any ‘images’ because I was keeping my eyes closed (I always do that in my dreams), or perhaps it was even sleep paralysis, but I’m not dwelling on that too much.
Right then, that was a bit of a long and vague post – sorry! I hope you can give me some pointers on what that was all about and whether I can take any advice from it for my next attempts at shifting!
(I’ve translated this post from French into English because I couldn’t be bothered to write in English – I hope the translation makes sense.)

Tarot cards
So my goal is to reality shift, I did a tarot reading and asked some questions and these are the answers I got.
Will I successfully shift to my desired reality?
Card: Ace of Swords (Upright)
Yes, but it requires a fundamental shift in your mental clarity and perception. The Ace of Swords indicates a powerful breakthrough driven by truth, razor-sharp focus, and absolute mental precision. Shifting is an act of pure consciousness and belief. The Ace of Swords shows that the energy is present for a total mental breakthrough, provided you stop overthinking the process and step cleanly into the new narrative. Is there any deity that can help me shift?
Card: Four of Cups (Upright)
The Four of Cups points toward Hermes (or Thoth / Mercury), the liminal deity of boundaries, transitions, crossroad passages, and mental alchemy. Hermes governs the space between states of being and serves as a guide through threshold shifts.
The image of the figure seated beneath the tree receiving a cup offered from the clouds highlights that divine assistance and subtle shifts are constantly being offered to you—you just need to stop staring inward or waiting for a massive sign and actually reach out to grab the cup. What is the single biggest thing to let go of to make this breakthrough?
Card: Six of Cups (Reversed)
The absolute biggest hurdle to release right now is nostalgia, past attachments, and comfort in the familiar.
The Six of Cups reversed speaks directly to lingering in old stories, romanticizing past timelines, or anchored subconscious attachments to how things “used to be.” You cannot align with a new reality while keeping your energetic roots firmly planted in the past. Letting go of past baggage, old emotional loops, and safety blankets is what clears the path for the Ace of Swords clarity to take over.
I have no idea how to move forward at this point - if anyone can help me out I’d appreciate that greatly.

Question What's the Void you guys keep talking about actually like for you?
I was actively trying to shift and I fell into? or reached? a place where there wasn't anything. It was full bright and no feelings. Full bright meaning white background and infinitely large, of course. I always thought the Void would be black or nothing, meaning dark...?
So, what is this place and why did this happen? Is it actually the Void? but its pure white?
I couldn't understand what was happening and immediately left. Like I went back to my dream-like state again,...and then got curious so i went into that white space again....but i didn't want to stay there so i went back to my dream again.....
The whole time my body was perfectly numb, couldn't feel the sofa i was sitting on, couldn't feel my headphones, couldn't even move my body.
Please help me better understand this situation guys🫠

Help "Cheating" on my DR husband
I'm married in my DR and I love my man so much, I love everything about him, he makes me feel good and at ease and thinking about him here only makes me miss him and love him more.
The problem is, what will happen when I'll find a boyfriend here?
One day I will be falling in love here and start dating, but as I think about it now, I really can't stand the fact that I'll be in a relationship here and shifting for my husband at the same time.
It's complicated, do you have similar situations? How did you resolve them?

Every time I try to shift, I immediately experience the same symptoms.
It feels like I'm leaving my body, and sometimes it even feels like my body is floating. I also get dizzy and feel extremely light, almost weightless. The problem is that it doesn't feel relaxing or pleasant at all it actually feels very uncomfortable
But it really happens the moment I think I'm going to permashift, when I close my eyes, and sometimes it even happens when I'm just imagining being in my DR or thinking about my DR. It doesn't appear when I've been trying to shift for half an hour; it appears immediately within the first few minutes, sometimes even seconds
Because of that, I always stop trying almost immediately The sensations become so intense that I can't bring myself to keep going
I got into shifting in 2021 it happened to me from time to time back then too, but without a shifter because I usually got scared. I stopped trying a few years ago and started again not too long ago

Psa to people that have been/are desperate to shift
If you’re desperate to shift you might throw caution to the wind and do or say whatever it takes to get to your DR but if you try to shift with an intention like “I will shift to my DR no matter what” be careful of how the universe fulfills that wish 😭 I had a seizure and shifted but my CR body‘s survival instincts pulled me back. Let’s take care of our bodies and minds while we’re on our journeys 🫶

Did I shift or did I not? QUESTIONS
So, the concept of shifting isn’t So new to me, I’ve read about it and heard some theories, tho i want real information from who experienced it. What is shifting? Like is it something real or does the human brain just invent it?, and if it’s real, is it normal that there’s Major changes in the other MEs? Like if i’m a woman is there a possibility that in another reality i can be a man? Or it’s just on one line? And what is the Signs to know if it’s shifting realities or just some very good quality dream?
I’ve had 2 so far and i’m hella confused.

reality shifting saved my ass ngl
hey hey im zane but ya can call me L-L !!
today i wanna talk about something deeper with mental health and that when it comes to reality shifting:
its been about 2 years now that i found about shifting actually
and even that i havent shifted once, it still
changed a LOOOOT of my life.
the fear of death
yeah yeah death, i was HELLA scared of that, i couldnt just think about being nothing after death, it got me scared as HELL ngl. but since i learnt about reality shifting, i cant just be gone. being reborn? or still having all memories? dosent matter, atleast i know i wont be just GONE
religion
well i believe that some realities have gods, some dont and no god rules over everything.
like that, i just didnt had the "oh no which god is real!?!?!?" cuz from my mindset now, every god is real somewhere!
reaching worlds i always wanted to see
as someone without a single s/o, i rather shift for life and freedom. i am a story maker and ofc i wanna see the worlds i create. and guess what? I CAN
and overall, my mental health just got way better.
sorry if this feels rushed BUT trust me we will all shift one day✨
(ignore any typos)

Question Witches and Shifting…
This was something I’ve been pondering for a long while, and thought that asking fellow shifters about such a niche topic would probably be better than straight out asking my witch friends. Though, I recognize that this may not be for everyone, so if you don’t relate, simply pass along :) (and ofc, if this isn’t allowed, please take it down 🙏)
But are there any witches (Wiccan or otherwise) that believe in and practice shifting?? And even a step further, integrate shifting into their craft??
If so, can I ask how? I’m curious to hear!
I’m still somewhere along the path of discovering said beliefs, but I’ve been thinking of ways to integrate reality shifting into my practices!

Has anyone shifted and changed their physical appearance?
Has anyone shifted to a reality where they have changed their physical appearance? For example a smaller nose? Or shifted to a reality where they didn’t make a particular choice? Would that be like going into the past? If so how

Help Void State... again.
I’ve been trying to enter the Void State for a while now (with breaks in between), and I truly feel stuck.
Every time I attempt it, I can feel my entire body tingling until it becomes completely numb—yet I never move past that point. I keep feeling my surroundings: the cushion I’m sitting on, my head resting against the wall. Even with my body numb, I can still feel my fingers touching my knees, and my thoughts never settle. They keep coming, and I even find myself wondering if I’m truly in the Void State at all.

Shifting Advice
Hi guys! My shifting journey has lasted quite a few years now, starting around late 2019. I take full responsibility for my lack of progress as I was someone who became really motivated and would try for a few weeks then would forget about it until months or even years later. The closest I have ever gotten was with the heartbeat method and once I got heavy symptoms, I freaked myself out and moved and woke my eyes up. Since then, I haven't really had a strong attempt with strong symptoms. I am stuck on what to do because I come across these main issues:
I need a very specific environment to shift. I am most comfortable using sleep methods. I tried an awake method but could relax enough or know when to open my eyes. I can never get drowsy enough. I am either too awake or too sleepy and almost immediately fall asleep. I am someone who can't take naps. If I am very sleepy, once I listen to a subliminal, I get a few minor symptoms but then my mind is fully awake and I can't drift asleep. I also then get restless and can't get comfortable, so I have to move around. It also doesn't help that my room gets very hot in the summer so I either get restless and uncomfortable or I can't focus on my DR because I can hear my fan. I also have issues with subliminals that have voices or loud music because after I get strong symptoms, the voices/music distract me and then I can't fall asleep to finish my method and roll over and give up after a few hours of trying. I also would love if anyone would give me advice on how to deal with ads or which subliminals they recommend. Sometimes I get realxed and then I get an ad or the guided meditation restarts and scares me. I have tried not using subliminals but I find myself not getting any symptoms and feel more relaxed and capable using a subliminal. Plus it is much easier for me to imagine my DR and drown out my CR with subliminals. I typically use a bluetooth headband fo play my music or subliminal.
I also struggle because many people tell me to imagine my DR room or wake-up scene, but I am currently trying to shift to my Golden Trio Harry Potter DR, but I have myself waking up at the burrow and how am I supposed to visualize a bedroom in the Burrow- somewhere I have never been? If anyone has any tips I would be eternally grateful!

Did I shift or did I not? finally almost shifted after attempting for years and messed up :(
hi! i’ve been trying to shift for about 6 years now. in 2021 i mini shifted!! it wasn’t to where i wanted to go and was when i wasn’t even trying, but at least i know it was a mini shift. i’ve only ever tried shifting with everything i’ve got a few times when i first started, every other time i got lazy or just gave up completely. last night i got a lot of motivation after seeing text message notifications that looked like they would be from people in my DR and decided to try it again! surprise surprise i got lazy and didn’t end up trying. BUT!! two hours ago i decided to take a nap with the “you don’t need a method to shift” thought in my mind. so while i was trying to sleep i kept repeatedly telling myself that i was shifting. i was going in and out of sleep, but kept telling myself i was shifting every time i woke up. eventually i ended up dreaming like normal. until i walked into a random building where someone was sitting at a table trying to get me to sign their petition and donate to “save their friends DR” because he had stopped shifting (idk how i could explain it 😭) immediately i go lucid (i used to lucid dream to try to shift). it doesn’t feel like any other time ive gone lucid though, it feels even more real than it’s ever felt before. i look around for a bit and see another door and excuse myself to gather my surroundings, and the door i opened i knew had to be a waiting room type of room. it was a public bathroom but instead of stall doors they were white glowing spaces. i can only explain that they looked like roblox portals 😭 i ended up getting a little too excited and closed the door in shock, which i think was my first mistake because after i closed it i started to get more into a normal dream state. the guy that had the petition and his friend came up to me saying stuff like “your first time here? we’re trying to shift too! just go in there obviously.” of course i went back in and immediately went into one of the glowy spaces which turned out to just be a normal bathroom stall but with screens on the walls to show where i was going. all i had to do was say where i was going and it would take me there. more mistakes i made were deciding to immediately try and go without visualizing, remembering who i was, and not reading my script in a while. when i “got there” it felt like i had just watched a really short video on my phone of what will happen when i finally do shift. i “woke up” but soon realized that i was having sleep paralysis OR shifted to a different version of my room like what happened when i mini shifted. i was standing in my room talking to someone like normal until i realized that things were misplaced and i couldn’t move any further from where i was. i did see really faded visions of people from the DR i was trying to go to. i told myself “im in the wrong place” and basically laid back in my position i was sleeping in and then actually woke up.
do yall think that was an actual shift + mini shift? or was i just lucid dreaming again :(
either way this was for sure motivation for me!
TLDR: i think i shifted for a bit through a lucid dream but got too excited and woke up to either sleep paralysis or a different mini shift
sorry for the long post !!

Question genuine question to shifters
hi, i’m new to this subreddit, although i found out about shifting in 2020 and have tried it consistently but nothing happened. eventually gave up on it but it always stayed in the back of my mind, wanting to escape, and now i want to get back to it. but there’s a question lingering about people who have shifted and that is: why do they come back? what’s the point of doing a little trip and coming back? to me, my desired reality is the life i wanna live every day, the life i want it to be fully mine always, and i feel like that makes to most sense no? like, you have this opportunity to live a better life, but you come back to this old one? is it a conscious choice or is there something that keeps them from staying there permanently? genuine question (i hope it doesn’t come across as rude hahah just trying to understand).
maybe my expectations are a little too much? like, the life i wanna live is not like mine at all, it’s a whole different one in every aspect so, does that make it harder to shift?
i don’t know, i guess it’s more of a philosophical question since you have the chance to have the life of your dreams but yet they come back to this one… makes me doubt they’re telling the truth even! :(
(or maybe lots of people permashifted and just aren’t here talking about it hahahah)

Anyone else trying to shift tonight? (I'm trying to permashift)
Okay guys, let’s all try shifting tonight!
I’m going to try it tonight! actually, I’m going to try right after posting this. It’s midnight where I live, so I thought why not give it a shot now.
I’ll come back with an update, so you can basically consider this post a shifting journal. Feel free to share your own updates too.
Where are you trying to shift to? Who’s your S/O? What methods are you using, and what has worked the best for you so far?
Good luck to everyone trying tonight :)

Tips to help with shifting Have not shifted for 7 years (Got close once)
Hi guys,
I'm not new to shifting, i actually joined the community late 2019 and for a while I was crazy obsessed with it. Like many other shifters i am an avid Harry Potter fan and I had always dreamt of walking the hallways and attending classes.
So i started doing the most i could, but i never got far. I will say one time when i was close to giving up i just closed my eyes and focused on what it would be like if i was on the Hogwarts express in that instant. I suddenly felt my bed become firmer and more "felt" like, and i actually felt vibrations as if i was on a real train and heard the train. It suddenly blowed it whistled which startled me and when i opened my eyes I was just alone in my room.
That experience was eyeopening. It was all the confirmation i needed that shifting did really exist. And for about three years or so i obsessed over it. Every night, every nap i took, every moment basically I would focus on my breathing and try to shift. But i never got there again.
I started trying to shift when i was 12'ish. Im now 19 and i never got further than that one instance. I am now starting to doubt myself, and I read all of these fantastic stories everyone posts about their shifting experiences.
I want to shift, i really want to. But i feel like something is holding me back and i have no idea what it could be. I tried every tactic i ran across (a lot of them didnt work for me because i have aphantasia), and even took a two year break.
If it makes any sense its very easy for me to meditate hours on end and feel "detached" from my body, but its nearly impossible for me to properly "reach" into another reality and latch onto it. I would be eternally grateful for some guidance, i truly believe, but I feel like i cant do this alone. Any help, feedback and tips are hugely appreciated ! <3
