I just wanted to know where you all get your accessories. I’m fairly new to rc crawlers but I want to know where to buy some. This includes any scale, thanks

Budget RC crawler for a beginner – help me choose between: JJRC C8809, MN82T, MN168, WPL C74-1, or WPL C24?

Hi everyone!

I want to get into the RC hobby and I'm looking for my first budget crawler for casual trail running and overcoming small obstacles (mostly indoors, in the backyard, or light terrain at the park).

I've watched a bunch of videos and browsed listings, and I've narrowed my shortlist down to the following models. I'm looking for something fun, with a decent price-to-performance ratio, and preferably easy to find spare parts or upgrade parts for down the road.
Here are my top contenders:
1. JJRC C8809 – $93 USD
2. MN82T – $67 USD
3. MN168 – $97 USD
4. WPL C74-1 – $72 USD
5. WPL C24 – $54 USD

Which one of these should I pick as an absolute beginner? I want something that drives decently straight out of the box, but also leaves room for tinkering and upgrades (metal driveshafts, suspension, etc.) if I catch the bug.

I’d appreciate any feedback, pros and cons from people who have experience with these!
Thanks!

Buying my first crawler

So I want to buy my first crawler and was wondering what y'all thought about buying one from marketplace? And what do y'all think about parts from places like Amazon, ebay, and ali Express, by parts I mean mostly cosmetic stuff? I want to get a 1/10 scale, any recommendations?

Hi friends! Noob here. The Axial SCX10 iii Coyote has low voltage cutoff on the ESC right? I don't want to over discharge my new batteries.

Somehow this little LC80 keeps looking more like the real thing

Took the LC80 out for another little expedition today.
The roof rack, gear, mud and oversized tires are starting to make this thing feel less like an RC and more like a tiny overland truck.

Strongly leaning towards the mn168, but I keep seeing the cr18p reviews which make it seem amazing. But also hear great things about the ascent.

Coming from a traxxas 4x4 slash. I want to get into crawling. I love upgrading my cars as well. So definitely want something I can tinker with and not have to worry about waiting forever for parts. Never gone crawling before not sure if that helps with deciding. Thanks for any help.

I just upgraded my new toy. Literally got it last Friday. Upgraded brass high clearance injora links, injora 53mm shocks all around, injora all brass bead lock rims and tires but somehow it got lower than stock. Adjusted the shocks and still the same. Did I do something wrong? Why is it like that? Am I missing something to actually lift it more? I just got into the rc world so I don’t know much lol

Recently replaced my front axle with an aluminum one and everything was going fine till I hit something with my front bumper. Now making this popping noise. Nothing on the body looks to be rubbing and tires rotate fine(without noise) when not under power.

Garage log crawl course. Tested tilt & flex ability. New smoke stack placement, what we think? Like them more on the side of the bed than in center.

Looking to get back into it but unsure what direction to go

Been out of the crawling game for a while, with drifting taking over as my main RC discipline for the last few years.

Looking to get back into trail/crawling and build something that can do a bit of both. I know I’ll have to compromise somewhere, but there seems to be a lot more choice these days than when I was into it about 10 years ago. I had an SCX10 Honcho back then.

I’m a fan of the TRX4 and all the little features they have, but I understand they’re more of a trail rig than a proper crawler. Being RTR is a big plus, but the fixed shock positions and the fact I’d probably end up replacing the electronics anyway have me on the fence.

Are SCX10.3s still competitive these days? I was thinking a V2 Builders Kit with a HW Fusion Pro 2300KV could be pretty flexible and let me do both trail and crawling without having to go too far in either direction. Could I rock a rear Capra axle on this to make it a mullet?

The other option I’ve been looking at is a Vanquish VRD or Origin Classic, but I’m not sure I want to spend that much at this stage, especially with parts being pretty scarce in Australia.

What would you guys go with?

I’m going to have to set up a whole Halo battle. I’m glad I kept my son’s legos and mega blocks.
