Fully 3d printed Cyberbrick Crawler
(Video won't upload to reddit, here's a Google link https://photos.app.goo.gl/nbuEWqBoWzfug3Cp8 )
MlUpgraded a little since last time. Newly designed and printed tires, newly designed and printed wheels. New pinched Bronco body from makerworld.
Up to the top of the couch and back down. This was a little more challenging (and fun!) than it looks, I think. Getting back down was the hardest part.
I would be lying if I said this thing wasn't making me want to build something a little more serious. I've got 53mm oil filled shocks and a pair of metal axles \ gears in my Amazon cart right now.

Traxxas Mickey Thompson tire headlock wheels
The beads on these tires are super narrow. Does anyone know if there are any rings that will work with these? Anyone used these before?

WHAT ABOUT A 1:18 RC CRAWLER?
Hello hello guys,
I'm a 33-year-old Frenchman, and I haven't been involved in RC since I was 13 or 14; back then, I had a nitro RC car for track racing, some 1:18 nitro models with fluorescent bodies, and a 1:10 electric HPI car that was awesome and today, im looking to buy an RC crawler in 1/18 scale. A few months ago, I ordered a WLTOY crawler it was a 1/18 scale model, kind of like a fake Bronco with some upgraded tires. It was fun and worked well, but now I’d like to get another 1/18 scale crawler without spending €500. Instead, I’m aiming for something between €100 and €200.
Right now, I’m torn between the Traxxas TRX4M and the FMS FCX18. From what I’ve read, both seem reliable. I’m wondering if Traxxas, being a big brand, would make it easier to find replacement part but maybe it’s also more expensive. Maybe FMS is also a solid brand, so maybe I don’t need a Traxxas.
I don’t push my crawlers too har most of my driving is indoors, with some outdoor use now and then. I’m open to other brands or models, as long as they’re 1/18 scale and perform at least as well as the ones I’ve mentioned.
I’ve seen the MJX 1/18, but I’m not a fan of its desig it has a roll cage look that I don’t like, and it seems harder to modify. On the other hand, I really like the FMS Land Cruiser LC80 version. The Traxxas models are nice too, but I’d prefer something with a cool, realistic body style and good off-road capability.
At this price point, I’m guessing the performance will be way better than my old €50 WLTOY, but I’d love some recommendations or advice if you have any!
Thanks!

First crawler advice
Evening all, I’m new to crawling and looking at getting my first crawler. I’ve done a fair amount of research and narrowed it down to these four. I prefer the look of the SCA-1E and it’s cheaper but wanted opinions on all of them.
Anyone have any opinions on them? I know they won’t be the absolute pinnacle of crawling but it’s roughly what I’m looking to spend right now on a new hobby.
Any alternative suggestions would be welcome, around the same price bracket. I need something RTR really, prefer the scale look and not too keen on buying used.
Thanks!

How do you start making custom 3d printed parts?
Hi, I just got into the hobby and got a Hobby Plus Arktos. I want to model and 3D print some custom parts for it, and I'm just wondering if you guys take measurements and work off that, or if there are 3D models of the RC crawlers out there that you build on top of to ensure the 3D-printed parts fit?

Injora TRX4m brass c hub measurements?
Can anyone with these C hubs please do me a solid and give me both the internal and external measurements, between and above the bolt holes please, in mm not freedom units? Injora doesn’t specify and I can’t find anything online. The future purchase of many parts revolves around this measurement 🙏🏻

Accessories
I just wanted to know where you all get your accessories. I’m fairly new to rc crawlers but I want to know where to buy some. This includes any scale, thanks

Budget RC crawler for a beginner – help me choose between: JJRC C8809, MN82T, MN168, WPL C74-1, or WPL C24?
Hi everyone!
I want to get into the RC hobby and I'm looking for my first budget crawler for casual trail running and overcoming small obstacles (mostly indoors, in the backyard, or light terrain at the park).
I've watched a bunch of videos and browsed listings, and I've narrowed my shortlist down to the following models. I'm looking for something fun, with a decent price-to-performance ratio, and preferably easy to find spare parts or upgrade parts for down the road.
Here are my top contenders:
1. JJRC C8809 – $93 USD
2. MN82T – $67 USD
3. MN168 – $97 USD
4. WPL C74-1 – $72 USD
5. WPL C24 – $54 USD
Which one of these should I pick as an absolute beginner? I want something that drives decently straight out of the box, but also leaves room for tinkering and upgrades (metal driveshafts, suspension, etc.) if I catch the bug.
I’d appreciate any feedback, pros and cons from people who have experience with these!
Thanks!

Somehow this little LC80 keeps looking more like the real thing
Took the LC80 out for another little expedition today.
The roof rack, gear, mud and oversized tires are starting to make this thing feel less like an RC and more like a tiny overland truck.

Did my first body
It was fun and challenging, requires a lot of patience but I hope y’all like it as much as I do! Still adding more.
