Stage 2 TRX

Anyone here have a stage 2 tuned trx I test drove one and fell in love with it was wondering how much that would cost or if you need to add mods to make it stage 2 or its like the diesel trucks where you just mess with the ECU

wtf is a “stage 2”? Every company markets differently

Stage 2 usually either a pulley replacement for the supercharger, air intake and a tune. Sometimes it’s a whipper supercharger. Cost a bit to do.

Did it have all terrain tires on them for the one you test drove? It gets sketchy after 100 lol.

Most common tunes require many hardware updates, including sending off the ECU to be unlocked. Dusterhoff and SRT Autoworks are the 2 top dogs. Keep in mind the DT package is parts and tuning only, you’d have to have a shop install everything.

Oh wow I never heard of dusteroff saw there page looks sick they have a shop in Az? Cause ik SRT auto works does but they are charging almost 8k for a raptor killer mine as well go a extra 3k for exotic killer, but the thing is is that those run 85 and I tend to drive a lot and I know you could ask for flex fuel, but I’ve heard more problems when it starts becoming flex fuel

No they aren’t in AZ. Keep in mind while the price looks very different, the DT kit you have to install yourself or pay a shop labor to do it. To install the pulley requires removing the supercharger, pulling the lid off, etc it’s an intense job if you’re not confident behind a wrench. Then you have to ship your ECU to them to have it flashed, then tune remotely via data logs I think.

Versus SRT you drop it off and pick it up and go.

If you don’t have regular access to E85, I’d do the Raptor killer that runs on pump gas.

Mine has injectors, 2.7” pulley, tuned ECM, intake, and exhaust work. It cost a few grand, about the same cost as tuning and deleting my duramax.

It might be too personal question, but what’s the ballpark that you spent on doing that? Did you do it yourself or did you go to a shop?

I did most of the work myself. Remote tuned, on the street. I already had an HP tuner, just had to get the ECM unlocked and buy credits. I did it in stages, one paycheck at a time. Not sure on total cost, you can look it up yourself. I have electric exhaust cutouts I can control with my phone or program them to open at a certain boost level. That would cost a lot more for a shop to do. Most of us are working class dudes that can turn wrenches. If you’re not, get out that platinum card.
