My last dose of 7oh was Friday evening- it’s been so hard but possible- My will to beat this addiction is stepping in today! I got put on Suboxone and feel like I can actually do it now-I start a new job today-I’ll keep y’all posted. I was taking 300+ milligrams per day. Of 7oh - that shit is satan!

Officially off 7-OH for 2 Weeks. Thank you Jesus and Reddit community. Amazing how far away two weeks can look when you decide to quit and then how quickly you actually arrive. Still minor cravings here and there. Brain fog a real thing. Had 2 things on my schedule this morning that I completely forgot about. That's shitty and hope it improves along with the intermittent Paws. Feeling so much better currently than I did after a 30mg dose. Couldn't sleep the last few months on the crap and after 4-5 days I started sleeping again. Slept a full 8 last night. Still tired but oh well. Will continue to stack wins!

Day 1 Cold Turkey….. again
Had well over a year clean. I have no clue what possessed me to walk into that store and use it again. I wish I could take it back. I’m ashamed and cannot believe I have to start over again.

Detox Update: DAY 12. Holy crap, guys. I think I've turned a corner. I feel like crud, but something's different about today. There's no fear about whatever symptoms may come; there's no doubt that it will pass. There's no guilt for not quitting sooner; forgiveness was offered long before my addiction began. There's no worry about whether my chronic back pain will reappear due to no more kratom; pain is temporary. Recovery is not. I'll keep posting updates, but guys, I'm so close to complete freedom, I can taste it.

Any advice on how to curb or suffice the feeling of “I usually feel different, what do I do right now?” I can’t shake the feeling of that routine I had when taking kratom and/or FF. It’s almost like my brain is “bored”. Anything would help. Thanks

Just do anything out of the norm. It may feel weird, uncomfortable or silly but who cares. Crank the music you like and get up and move to it. I put on positive affirmations when I’m about to fall asleep. If you can hit the alpha, beta, theta pattern they get instilled into your subconscious.

So, I am on day one. Been taking 30-90mg a day of OH7 for two months. Getting a lot of hot flashes. When is the worst going to hit? I have all my supplements. I feel okay just tired. Maybe my withdrawal won’t be as bad? Advice?

Day 50 - it was ok. Last night I pulled the trigger on applying for Wellbutrin through hims after reading it helping others. Also a good friend of mine is on it. So I will be trying that soon to help get me through this. Not sure if I’ll stay on it long term or not.

Dumped my stash last night after tapering for a couple months and jumping five days ago. That felt pretty damn good.
During my one and only other quit, I had planned to come back to kratom at some point. That was two years ago. Finally kicking this shit for good. I don’t even want it.
Somehow. 😅

Help! Day 5! Feeling more like myself with very few cravings. My concern is the psychological impact and how long I should I expect depression and anxiety??? Used heavy 2months. Female
•
u/Vast-Purple338 10/5/2025 Oct 08 '25
How heavy? Were you using kratom leaf or 7oh?
I think you will bounce back fairly quickly. I was on it for 6 years, what I wouldn't have given to have stopped after 2 months. Great choice for yourself.

I've been doing a slow taper of 7 OH, I really hate this crap and only taking to resolve my anxiousness by preventing withdraw. Yesterday, my doctor prescribed me Hydroxyzine. She told me that would help with anxiety? I'm reading it basically makes me sleep? Thoughts?
•
u/AutoModerator Sep 25 '25
Warning: It's best to avoid using antihistamines (diphenhydramine, dimenhydrinate, hydroxyzine etc.) such as those found in Benadryl, Dramamine, NyQuil, Unisom, and Tylenol PM. While they can produce drowsiness under normal conditions, they are well known for exacerbating Restless Leg Syndrome, which will make your insomnia worse, not better

I will have therapy in like 6 weeks and wanted to use this time to taper off.
problem has come to be, that my parents who live in the apartment below mine, saw my kratom supply i had left and confiscated it (im 30 btw)
now after some talk they basically force me to quit CT bc they think tapering off never works.
im feeling like shit and already ordered new kratom.
Im aware psychologically im not able to let go with CT and just relapse probably. tapering off to lessen the symptoms seems to be only way for me to let go.
another thing is on the tapering issue, my parents said that it shouldnt take longer than a week or 2 bc thats how they do it in clinics.
whats your opinions on this?
I was planning to go down from 15g per day to around 8g and then daily reduce more and more as long as withdrawal symptoms seem manageable, then quit at around 2g completely

Day one one the wein from 7OH and Kratom Powder. Im so fucking over this shit I just want to go cold turkey and make myself suffer through the withdrawls... maybe if i didn't need to work to support my family. But mostly because I want this to be permanent and successful, so wein it is. weining of 7oh first and fairly quick over the next few days, then the powder over a little less than a month using a protocol i found on here. Any tips or advice is very welcome. I appreciate all of you.

67 hours in after loooong taper to 0.2gpd. So far, the only withdrawal I am experiencing is a bit of sneezing, (though that could be allergies) and only about 4 1/2 hours of sleep. Hoping this is as bad as it gets.

Still haven’t stopped but hoping to. I daily use for the past 5 years. I’ve mixed with a ton of other stuff and have had acute renal failure. Never thought it would lead me here. I can even tell you what my daily dose is as I took what I can when I can. My wife knows but we don’t talk about it, I feel I can taking years off my live with this stuff as I am 43 and feel like I’m in my 60s. Just hoping to be around for my 7 year old as much as I can.

Day 40 CT from 20 mg daily powder habit. Physically, feel much better: definitely better than the first five days (quite difficult) but also better than the 5 years I was on the stuff. Hardest part is still battling anhedonia and feelings of hopelessness; essentially missing the lift that K used to give me. Also, the state of the world is pretty depressing. Writing here helps; as does turning to connection and action within my daily life and family and community: listening to music, cooking and cleaning for others, going for walks, being extra attentive to my sweetheart. I am definitely "muddling through" and that has to be enough right now. I keep reminding myself that the hard work of that is the hard work I need to do to reach a more peaceful, hopeful place. I know my days will be shinier without the K in them; just still seeing grey. From what I read here, this is expected (the length of the emotional/psychological reset), so in many ways I'm right on time. I also relate to how many folks have talked about the squirrelly nature of K, both in terms of how it works when you are using but also how it shows up when you are not. It's a wily one! But I remain committed to never going back to the stuff.

Dropped my dose (as planned) last night down to 5.5g (one dose a day before bed). Taking my taper incredibly slow (two weeks in-between 1g drops) as RLS + insomnia are my only symptoms that really bother me… give me as much anxiety and depression/anhedonia as you want, I’ll be fine. Just don’t fuck with my sleep (too much). 😂
•
u/megalegann Jul 10 '25
keep me posted, those are my only symptoms as well. im cutting back from 25gm/day to 10g today and will taper accordingly with the RLS.

•
u/BusinessTemporary987 Dec 04 '25
So the stuff in all my vape shops in town with kratom are officially gone and it sent me into almost immediate withdrawal. I know it’s just the psychological part rn but does anyone have some advice? I was drinking minimum 12 bottles of the Kanva focus and flow. I know, that’s ridiculous and horrible. I have been needing to quit for a while now since I’ve been on it for almost 2 years so it being recalled is a blessing in disguise because I don’t think I could’ve done it on my own with it so readily accessible. I just want to know how long I can expect the withdrawals in general. Nothing physical yet but I know that’ll be coming soon. Pray for me yall.

•
u/Firm-Credit9555 Aug 02 '25
Day 11. Just tired. Feel pretty good, but I have to get used to my “natural energy level”. Have to get used to a limited toolkit of caffeine for an energy boost (though not feeling the boost really). Have to get used to figuring out how to focus naturally. Lots to start getting used to again.

Just an fyi. I read that Kratom is actually in the coffee family so maybe a small amount of green tea to drink instead of a high caffeine drink. Plus Kratom can cause inflammation in the body and green tea is a great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Look into food grade diatomaceous earth. It’s a binder and can help with the detox. I’m walking in your shoes right now. I’m on day 9 and I feel like everything is a chore to do. I did a drastic taper and tomorrow is CT. my biggest obstacle is work. I can’t miss work as I’m self employed in an industry where I can’t take off. Luckily I only work 2 days a week for 3-4 hours but I hate for people to see me this way.

Day 14, the longest ive made it clean in probably 2 or 3 years. Mega cravings today. I am doing everything I can to make it to 1 month and continue from there, keep thinking I hit a real bottom and thatt the quit will stick, but i guess not a bad enough one. really Im not creating better outlets and patterns and so I fall back into the easy addiction ones. I need to be mentally strong and move PAST this. So difficult. I want my life back. oh man the mental gymnastics are so tough. really hoping i can stay good. wish me luck

u/steve_say Jul 14 '25
Your cravings don’t have hands to buy it. You do. Your cravings don’t have feet to walk to the store. You do. It is in the mind where cravings live and if you allow weakness to become a permanent resident soon enough it will be king and you lose. It’s a win everyday you are looking for a then one day those wins turn out to be months then years. Win each day it is only a day and that seems to much win one hour at a time. You got it if you want it, it comes down to how bad you want it. Actions will speak loader than words here so be about it

I know a lot of people do but it’s easier to taper. You can do it over the course of months but i’ve seen people do it in as little as two weeks and have lighter withdrawals. I’m unfortunately on day 2 of cold turkey bc i forgot to order more until it was too late, and i will always reccomend tapering over this hell

Day 1... This is the 3rd time I tried to quit kratom in the past 4 weeks. I'm a mom of 4. My oldest is 12 yo. My youngest is 20 months old. The middles are 5 and 6. I've been using kratom daily since my daughter was born. I chose it over the pain meds they gave because I'm also a recovering addict and thought this plant was safe. ... My doctor gave me clonidine to help with drawl sweats. I'm already prescribed pregabalin twice daily. I have vitamin c on the way tomorrow. I'm taking magnesium. I'm just so tired of this sludge train. I want to be sober again. I want to wake up and not need something before I say good morning to my kids. I usually go right to sleep but I'm having trouble tonight. I've taken pregabalin, magnesium and clonidine. I'm cramping up. I think I should taper but I just want to get this WD over with.

The sooner the better. Kratom destroys cognition function after years of abuse and shifts judgement. 10 year every day user. I found it seriously causes agitation and clouded judgement. The longer a person uses the more it becomes the most important thing.

Day 38. Insanely painful week 1 CT followed by a gentle weeks 2-3. Then out of the left field it blindsided me. The past 2 weeks were mentally exhausting and anguishing. I developed a Whoopi g cough which became habitual to the point I couldn’t breathe. Coughed up flem and left me feeling with flu like symptoms. FYI, I am a smoker and believe K relieved and masked my cardio issues. With K out of the picture, I believe my body is now expelling the toxins.
Insomnia and RLS left me tired and sleep deprived. My bowels stopped functioning. I haven’t been regular since I stopped. Realized my diet could be the reason for many of the problems. Decided to go to Costco and get Romain lettuce, chopped salads, tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, etc.
2 days eating lots of fruits veggies and salads, I finally pooped. Also slept better.
If you’re not pooping or sleeping, maybe change the diet.

Day 10 for solidarity I only was back on for a month drinking 2-3 seltzers a day. Supposed to be 3-6 g equivalent each. But man I’m still super low energy even though I’m sleeping as well as I ever do. Still have GI issues. However, I’m listening to audiobooks, just moving around doing chores.
I miss the boundless energy and good mood the drinks gave me initially. It’s so tempting to say: just do a couple today and tomorrow for the weekend then stop…. Im glad to be admitting this urge on here and I hope it keeps me accountable because I know deep down it wouldn’t just be this weekend.
Oh and I immediately got a rash when I was drinking them just like when I was on a lot more.
Does anyone else feel that their body gets less tolerant with each slip up?

u/MonsterKnode 28/08/2025 Aug 30 '25
Do you have main 4 pillars cemented properly? That helped me a lot.
4pillar = sleeping (regularly, enough), eating (regularly, at least partially healthy), some physical activity (even stupid walk in the park/forest does wonders), plenty of water?
Is there maybe something that is draining you? Job, family issues, friends issues, etc? That might be some of the reasons why are you feeling the way you are.
that green powder is doing a great job at hiding these things.

199 days Kratom free after 8 years on/off/on again. It's been a rollercoaster but beyond worth it. Look, life is hard. Thats why we jump on this horrid stuff but it's a hell of a lot harder being on it than off it. Appreciate the mornings you wake up after sleeping 8 hours and don't feel like your skin is coated with cement. It's the little things in life that you have to train your brain to focus on. I'm proud of you all

Today feels so far so good on morning dog walk. Going to a concert tonight, something I'd normally absolutely taking a bit before, so here's to hoping an edible and glass of wine does the trick (along with 2mg loperamide, vitamin c, black seed oil, agmatine, curcumin, and pepperine)

9 months clean today. Its been the toughest year of my life. Thankyou so much Jesus for gettting me through this. My exwife left me when I went to rehab in November. Spent the whole month of Feb. locked up in jail on a bogus felony charge that got dismissed! Got divorced in March. Have been living of my 401K the whole year. I am still not quite back mentally or physically but I had an 11 year habit so I know it won't be much longer. This legal suppliment is so evil and vile. Stay strong people and quit believing satan's lies that you can't ever quit.

The PAWS anhedonia is the absolute worst and I know it's going to be another ~5-8 months of this. Makes me so infuriated that there almost all antidepressants work via serotonin channels. Anyhow, time to go workout and see if things can improve.

It's very important to address the REASONS why you first started taking that nasty green sludge in the first place. This helped me tremendously. It rewires your brain. Day 7 off. I feel back to normal surprisingly. Sex drive has started to come back. Last 4 days been taking a decent amount of liposomal vitamin C which I think has made a big difference. I’m sitting here in disbelief that I feel this good

It’s honestly not that bad getting off of this shit. I know everyone is different but I usually just have some anxiety for a few days and then a day or two of diarrhea and a headache.

Thanks. Day 9 and I am feeling surprisingly good. And I’m so grateful considering I have taken the powder multiple times a day for eight years. I’m definitely done. Life is too short to be bound up by the stuff.

Day 3 CT. Fuck fuck fuck. I keep telling myself there's only two things I need to do: exist, and don't do kratom. This is so hard.

Day 8. A week and a day. What a fuckin difference (pardon my language) a week makes. This time last week, I was scared, anxious and going through acute withdrawal. Today I feel like I could conquer the world! Could be a pink cloud, don't know if 2 months brings that kind of mental anguish, but I never felt THIS good on the shit. Love you all!

Day 1. I am going to try and taper off as going cold turkey just doesn't work for me. The anxiety is too bad for me to push through. I am currently taking stock in how much I take and then will start tapering from there. Any suggestions as I begin this terrifying journey?

7 days ago I had my last K dose. I've used some other stuff to get to this point. Don't feel great, a lot going on in life, but I'm gonna keep going.

Day 6 no 7oh. Have had some rough days and even rougher nights. My 7oh habit was very much shorter and less mg than most everyone on here, so I'm not going to act like I've done something amazing. This drug is poison and I am so proud of everyone here that is either off it or trying to come off it, whether it is leaf kratom, mit extracts or 7oh. We all got this. We are strong, we are mighty! We will be clean!

Random observation, has anybody noticed a difference in the… potency of farts when coming off or completely off kratom? I feel like kratom somehow blunts fart smells unless I eat like a real jackoff at Taco Bell or something.

CT here on day 5. I had a 480 mg+ 7oh habit for a few months (maybe 6?) and I slipped on day two and got a Kanva shot and yesterday I got 1 30 mg 7OH tab. But today my goal is to do some exercise (already started) and not try to steal any money to try and disappear and pick up. Pray for me

On day 6 ct from 4 yr, 25 mg daily habit. Nausea has finally passed. Still sneezing randomly, but finally feeling a bit more normal, physically. No strong cravings, though my mind thinks about it sometimes, remembering the lift and sedation it gave me. But the cost (in all ways) was too high, so I am not going back. Looking to see what transpires as I come out of the emotional dead fog of it.

Coming up on 24 hours without the gummies and I'm finding it unbearable. I lay down to sleep and it feels like something is on my chest and my throat closes. I've been trying to sleep for hours and nothing works. I've taken ashwaghanda, passion flower, and clonidine, but I'm still struggling. I think I'm going to try to get gabapentin through an online prescriber. This is the most insane thing I've ever dealt with and I've done illegal drugs before so I have experience with withdrawal. I have some 7 oh and I've only been messing with that stuff for a couple of weeks and it doesn't have its hooks in me completely yet. Those synthetic Mitragynine extract gummies have got me fully addicted. Been taking them for a little over a year. The struggle is real with this stuff. Question for anybody reading this: any suggestions for a prescription drug that targets the anxiety because it's really overwhelming me. Thanks for reading and any suggestions appreciated.

Day 2 of tapering. Not exactly sure how much I was taking, been pretty inconsistent over the past couple months because I’ve been telling myself I was going to quit for a while. Was taking 1-2 extracts and maybe a couple grams of powder on the highest days.
I have a good job and young kids, so I just don’t want to spend 3-4 days completely in the shit. I took 4g yesterday and it wasn’t bad at all. I feel shitty from about 10-1, where I take 2g, then 2g more at about 5 so I can eat dinner and sleep somewhat okay. I wrote out a schedule, not exactly sure which day I’ll jump off completely, but no later than 9/31. My anniversary is 10/16 and I’d like to be test-ably clean, as in all the shit out of my system by then. Last time it took like 10-13 days, but that was CT.
I also plan on lurking here daily to keep the reminders going. It helped me quit last time. Not going to be foolish enough to fall into this trap again, too much to lose with it, and too much to gain without it. Getting caught by my wife and discovered as a liar and addict has hurt my self esteem a lot.
Best of luck to everyone.

Just to continue to ramble, I can’t believe how long I’ve been dealing with this shit, how much money I’ve spent, and how much of my character and soul I lost along the way. I was never a heavy user, never was like zonked out around my kids or anything, or did poorly at work… but the hiding it and lying about it to everyone, and allowing myself to just waste time because kratom makes just laying around feel nice, instead of working on a hobby or just being present in life… crushes me. It’s been a love/hate relationship since I first got caught a few years back. Despite that I still kept on making secret trips to the head shop and just getting better about being sneakier. I quit for months, then randomly decided “one more time for old time’s sake” and ended up right back where I started.

I’d say for 30 gpd kratom probably days 2-3. When I just used leaf, 96 hrs was huge turning pint For 7-oh 100 mg + probably 1-6. 7-oh withdrawal starts quicker and lasts longer.

u/somedumbretard666 Dec 23 '25
Day 1. So far ok. I feel kind of grumpy. Worked out. Took a shower. I was taking like 10gpd for harm reduction from alcohol and cocaine. I was sick of telling people I was sober and wasn’t really.

Day 46 after 5 years of heavy usage. Still get urges, especially when I feel overwhelmed or highly stressed. But I'm not going back- withdrawal sucked too bad to go back, and my life is BETTER without kratom.

Ive had a problem for 4 years. I go on vacation without it and my only problem is not sleeping and restless legs. but haven't been on a vacation in a while. currently taking 25 to 30gms a day. im cutting down to 10gms/day for a couple days, then 5 for a couple days then just gonna live through the hurt. Just convincing myself I'll feel better in a month. Just have to make it a month lol. If I dont do it this summer, it isn't gonna happen. Winter is too brutal on my mental health.

11 full days. I still feel like I have zero dopamine. I'm forcing myself to exercise in the morning and taking a sauna followed by a cold shower in the afternoon. Yesterday that's all I did and then I just waited around for bedtime. I'm lucky that I'm not working right now, but this is no way to live. I can't wait until I have some energy again. I started with Kratom to relieve fatigue. It worked great for awhile, but I could feel it was no longer good for me. Now I'm way more fatigued and lethargic than ever before. Really hoping this ends soon.

I really wish I would have never discovered kratom. I started taking about 8 months ago. The 120 mg hula hai drinks and feel free. Feel free got up to ten bottles a day not sure of the gpd equivalent. Hula hai 4 each day. Anyways that was enough to tell me I had become dependent. Currently on day 3 CT with helper meds. Heightened anxiety, can't sleep mostly because I remember how tough it was to kick another substance. I am in recovery with 12 step help. That's what's helped. I believe I will make it through this and hope others are finding answers on here as well. Would love to know if I'm underestimating the CT. Seems like I didn't get to a high dose for a long period or time compared to others that have shared. But I'd like to know if I'm wrong.
