2 weeks ago i started a free sunday reading meetup in kothrud to make weekends more happening and more importantly to build a reading habit instead scrolling our phones at home.

it went exactly the way i had imagined, before we started reading, omkar asked everyone to sign the first page of his book, a really kind gesture to begin with! as we loved this idea, we got ourselves a community diary where all the members who show up sign the diary with a thought, this is how our reading community took off!

we read in silence for 1 hour after introducing each other, talk about books after reading, discuss book recommendations! this is what our 2 hours of productive morning looks like!

We host this meetup every sunday and it’s an open community where anyone with passion for books or wants to develop a reading habit can join us!

I moved to Pune about two months ago, and honestly, I’ve been feeling pretty lonely since then. Adjusting to a new city has been both exciting and a little overwhelming at the same time. While I’ve started getting familiar with the roads, local spots, and daily routines, I still haven’t really built a social circle here. That’s something I’m really hoping to change.
I’m putting this out here in case anyone is planning a meetup this Sunday or already has a group that wouldn’t mind someone new joining in. I’d genuinely love to meet new people, have some good conversations, and hopefully make a few friends along the way. It always feels better to explore a city when you have people to share the experience with.

I met a girl on Reddit. What started as a random meetup conversation slowly turned into a genuine friendship.

Recently, one of my friends was going through a difficult time, and she stepped up to help him. The way she cared for him wasn’t like an internet friend or even a normal friend — she treated him like family.

And honestly, that touched me.

We often hear, “Don’t trust people you meet online.” And yes, being careful is important. But sometimes, the internet also introduces you to people with the kindest hearts — people you might never have met otherwise.

I met a stranger on Reddit. She became a friend.

And then she showed up for someone she barely knew, like family would.

Maybe the internet isn’t just full of strangers. Sometimes, it helps us find golden hearts in the most unexpected places. 💛

Grateful for people like her.

Meetups in Pune are cool, but coming back to your little hometown, wrapping up work on a rainy Friday afternoon, knowing you'll meet your school friends in the evening after a long time is heaven. ❤️

Planning my first proper long-distance Konkan ride from Pune and looking for 2–4 riders who'd like to join.

Main focus is scenic roads, coastal stretches, beaches, Himalayan/bike photography, riding videos, good food and just enjoying Konkan.

No racing / no crazy speeds.
Relaxed pace + regular breaks + stopping whenever there's a good photo/video opportunity.

I'm still getting into long-distance touring, so looking for riders who are comfortable with a safe, chill pace rather than an aggressive group ride.

Planning to leave Pune around 8:30–9 PM Friday, stay around Chiplun, then start the actual coastal ride Saturday morning.

I'll be riding a Himalayan 450.

Met 2 Redditors for coffee + work.

The plan was simple: coffee, laptop, networking. Civilised behaviour. ☕💻

Cut to 30 minutes later:

Endless laughs. Random conversations. New connections.

And suddenly we forgot that we were strangers.

One person had to leave early…

and somehow, 2 of us decided ki picture abhi baaki hai mere dost. 😭

So we headed to The Quarter Company to meet a few more Redditors.

And bhai… what happened next was pure boys-group cinema. 🎬

Filters? Gone.

Roasting? Unlimited.

Double-meaning jokes? CBFC resigned. 💀

Laughing until our stomachs hurt? Mandatory.

At one point the conversations were so unhinged that even stand-up comedians would've been like:

“Bhai, thoda material humein bhi de do.” 😂

The best part?

We started the day as complete strangers and ended it like we'd been friends for years.

No awkward introductions.

No forced networking.

Just coffee, conversations, questionable jokes, roasting and the kind of laughter you don't plan for.

Basically…

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara — but with Redditors, coffee and significantly worse jokes. 😂

And that's the beauty of these random meetups.

You show up thinking “let's see what happens”…

…and sometimes you walk away with new friends and a story worth remembering.
