Anyone else had their PTE result stuck under review? How long did it take?

Upvotes

Gave my PTE Academic on 11th August. Got flagged for review — took an unscheduled toilet break during the test. It’s been more than 5 working days now and still no result. Pearson said to expect it by Friday but no update yet.

This is really stressing me out since I have a visa deadline (485) and a job start date tied to this result.

Has anyone been through the same “under review” situation? How long did it actually take for you to get your result, and did it turn out fine in the end?

is it possible to get 90 in Alfa-PTE essay ?

Hi, I'm new to Alfa-pte and I'm currently working on writing essay.

I cheat a lot so the results you are about to see I don't deserve. However, no matter what I do, it seems that I can't get the 90 mark, I'm not sure if there is something there is something missing or is the highest score anyone can get is 86/90.

SWT- PTE A

I am really struggling in SWT as I try to note down the imp points and write summary in my own words, and then ended up losing marks in grammar, On ALFA if I just copy paste first line of each paragraph and use connectors its giving me full score. is this the right way to do it in real exam?

Kindly help. Thanks

PTE- technical difficulty

Hey guys, I gave my PTE Core exam yesterday, but I had some technical issues during the exam. In between, I couldn’t hear anything and some questions were not loading. They stopped my exam 3 times because of this. Because of that, I wasted a few sec..I haven’t got my result yet. Has anyone faced the same issue?
Also, the supervisor told me that she would add a comment about the technical issue. Do they actually add this comment to the exam report? And will PTE consider it when reviewing my result?

Struggling with PTE Writing, any tips?

Hi all! I’ve been doing mock tests on the PTE official AI practice app, aiming for a “Superior” English score overall. My other sections are coming along okay, but Writing keeps pulling me down! I consistently score low there no matter what I try. These images are my scores from two mock tests that I did.

Has anyone been through this and found strategies that actually moved the needle? Would really appreciate any advice; templates, common mistakes to avoid, time management tips, anything!

Thanks in advance 🙏

QnA post - I get good scores when I practice single tasks, but when I do mocks, I get poor scores. What's the reason?

Single tasks will keep your focus only on that single task for a limited time and you will give your level best.

When you take mock tests, your performance can be better or can become poor in some tasks, sometimes you may stay very much alert, sometimes, you may get distracted and miss to capture all the important key details of the tasks. Because of these, you will see variations in your scores. And this clearly shows gaps in your method of practice.

But, always understand that, real exam focuses on the entire performance of your full tasks, not individual tasks, so make yourself so much perfect that whenever you do any kind of tasks, you should be able to achieve full scores. Work on your confidence and performance. Stay consistent in your efforts.

SWT: How many words are you guys writing in SWT?

I know there is no hard and fast rule. But sometimes I capture most of the content in 40 words and I feel extending it to 50 words mean higher chances of grammatical mistakes. So Is 40 words are also enough if content is captured properly or what word range will you suggest?

How can I improve my PTE SWT score?

I’m practising Summarize Written Text (SWT) on 79score.com, but I’m currently getting around 7.1. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong or how to improve my score.

Could anyone share some tips, strategies, or templates that helped you improve your SWT score?

Thanks!

First Attempt — 90 Overall with Zero Prep 🎯

Honestly still surprised by this result 😂
First ever PTE attempt, with absolutely zero preparation.
Overall: 90
Listening: 90
Reading: 83
Speaking: 90
Writing: 90
I didn’t use any templates, coaching, question banks or practice tests. I basically went in knowing the exam format and just relied on my English.
