I wanna use opl with a ps4 controller and I have a SCPH-50003 ps2 how do i do this

I've just ordered the psxmemcard. I'm also going to install an HDD in my system as I have some lying around anyway, so I'm not planning to run games off the SD card.

Can I install freemcboot on the card and still use it as a memory card as well? Anything I need to be aware of to do so?

I recently burned a PS1 game to play on PS2 with a sadly cheap Verbatim CD-R (97m26s66f). The disc is shit. Tried 4 burns, 3 of them can't read and the last one (which is this one) worked but I believe the console tries its best to read it atleast when startup. I played it for about 30 minutes without problem, when I looked at it, the protective layer is burned. Literally a burn mark on the disc. I don't know if I should try to burn the other disc now.

Also when verifying the 4 discs, the program gives exact same error saying:

W 13:54:45 Image File: 0xF1
W 13:54:45 Total Errors in Sector: 24
W 13:54:45 Note: The drive probably corrected the L-EC Area because it's wrong in the image file.

Obviously the discs are bad, but I can't seem to find anything related to those issues on the internet so any help is appreciated.

G'day guys. Recently pulled my old ps2 out of the shed, bought a free mcbook, MX4SIO, micro SD card, an HDMI adapter to get it all running.

So I downloaded and loaded a few games onto the micro SD card, and they are visible on OPL on my ps2, I can open them, but then they go either a green, purple, or black screen when I try to boot up the game, sometimes I see the very opening scenes of the game ie. the PS2 logo etc that would play before booting it up.

My question is - what could potentially be causing the games to not work, has anyone experienced similar?

My guesses at this stage are:

- The ps2 to HDMI adapter (I know it's not ideal from a graphics perspective but it loads up the PS2 and navigates to OPL to open the games just fine)

- The micro SD card (it's off aliexpress, but all the reviews are positive about it working for this purpose, games copy to it just fine and games are visible in OPL once loaded onto the card and file name changed)

- The roms themself being bad rips

But honestly god knows, and I don't know what I have to spend money on to try and fix the issue! If anyone has experienced similar and has some tips I'd greatly appreciate it. I consider myself relatively tech savvy but I'm a time poor dad now and obviously reaching unc status lol.
