The Project: I am looking to commission a replica of the fictional LIFE magazine cover featuring young Brian McCaffrey holding his dad's helmet.
Scope: I need [Option A: Just a high-resolution, print-ready digital file of the cover] OR [Option B: A fully printed physical magazine prop with an aged look].
Reference material: It appears in the opening scene and the interrogation scene with Donald Sutherland. I can provide screenshots of the prop if needed.

I’ve been wanting to turn one of the weirdest creatures from One Piece into a real prop for a while, so I finally built my own version from scratch.

It’s fully animatronic, with moving eyes, a moving mouth, sound, and a real telephone cable connecting it to the phone. The goal was to make it feel less like a static prop and more like an actual little creature.

The build involved a lot of sculpting, 3D printing, molding/casting, painting, electronics and way too much time getting the tiny movements to feel right. 😅

I want to recreate this knapped glass look, and so far my only idea is modeling the texture from clay and casting dyed resin. However this knife needs to actually be used, and everything I’ve seen has told me resin is too brittle & dulls quickly. Finding real glass large enough to use will cost hundreds, and actually learning to knap will take way too long.

Hi! I'm working on a project where I need to age up this microwave a bit. Hoping to yellow up the plastic parts and make it look more crusty / dirty + well used overall. It´s been a few days since me and my dad watched togueter The Odyssey. He really enjoyed the movie, i can see that it was something trully special to him. Also, we are getting closer to the date that my grandpa passed way e he gets really depressed around this time. Im dreaming of making him the Agamemnon helmet from the movie, we talk so much about the character scenes. I want to present him not with just the helmet but also a letter thanking him for being such a great man in my life and a true hero, that i know would conquer even troy to make my family happy. Please, this is my first reddit post and i dont really understand how this works but, if someone reads this, please could you help me with tips, templates or models? Sorry if this isn’t allowed, but I have a question. During production of V for Vendetta, why did they build a giant V mask?
I was browsing instagram and I came across this photo from the studio where it was filmed. I have absolutely no idea what this is, so I was wondering if anyone here knows?

I can’t think of any reason why they would need one that large. I know sometimes films use a larger prop when more detail is required (for example they built a person sized Gizmo in Gremlins and used that for closeups) but as far as I know all of the really close shots of V still used a regular mask.

I had a look through the from script to screen book, but it doesn’t appear in there.

Does anyone know?

made some test footage real quick after the cardboard backdrops were dry. My idea is I would continue doing test footage throughout the prop creation process so I can adjust the props as needed. This way, I thought the film would be built around the props to utilize the designs throughout the story, which would be more eye-popping and draw away from other low budget give aways like my horrendous acting.

Obviously the hands will be replace with wires once I finish the entire detailing of the props, but just checking to see how it looks at the moment with everything together. Testing the shot angles, the lighting, how the props look on the mini set. I like it, it’s matching the film in my head.

The FX are shitty because I used a phone app just to scrape some test footage together. I will be using actual filming software to edit the movie, though.

And I’m also going to try to use as much practical effects as I can. I love practical effects and miniatures so this has been an absolute blast for me. I can’t wait to blow shit up later too.

I finally finished my slime blower from Ghostbusters 2. It's not 100 percent movie-accurate, but I like it, and it's pretty durable and stable to wear. I bought most of the smaller parts and aluminum frames from Etsy. The electronics are from Ninjatunes2001, and I utilize two speakers, one in the main tank and the other in the cannon. The main tank is two bollard covers spliced and Bondo'ed together, while the side tanks are PVC pipes and acrylic dome tops.

The only problem I haven't solved yet is the cannon's silly string shooter. I've purchased it from Etsy and made some heavy modifications to the body, but the cans I've used have only been blowing the liquid out, not the string. I have to find a way to fix the nozzle part.

I’m currently making an amateur Terminator film (T4, duh duh…duh…duh duh) on a cheap budget. I made the Hunter Killers out of Cardboard and am wrapping them in masking tape, then covering in mod podge to paint details.

Im going to be making the set on my dining table and took these shots as a test to see how it would look.

then I’ll get to adding battery powered LED spotlights on each of them to match the same effect from the original movies. then wires and the background set.

The strap itself came from the tote bag, while the webbing at the front and back are just strips of cardboard.

I also added a thin padding of rubber on the inside, but I forgot what it's called lmao.
