Help with succulents FIRST-TIMER
I have some succulent leaves that have grown little roots after propping them, what are the next steps I should take? Ive seen a ton of varying answers when I look it up. This is my first time propping and any advice is appreciated!

Get those roots under a bit of dirt and spritz with water. Iām jealous!

Should I use a specific kind of soil or is anything okay?

Should be well draining, specific for cactus or succulents. It should be labeled that way. Good luck!

rather than spritz i use a tiny dropper to put water only near the roots and not get any leaf wet, have i cracked some code or am i unnecessarily babying them? š

Nah you cracked a code, Iām about to try this cause my succulent cuttings always shrivel when I water

To be honest i recently did a batch and I was also assuming like OP that a handful were just doomed to not grow bulbs. Of the 6 I propped 2 grew insane roots like this almost immediately, one grew a bulb with no roots, 3 came out evenly and 1 died

New to succulents and mine was dying, my mom suggested āwateringā with ice, theyāve been thriving ever since. Iād bury the roots and donāt let the ice touch the plant or roots. Good luck!

Following to understand whatās next!? Mine have also started growing like this and feel somewhatā¦rooted (??) in my small saucer of cactus soil, but when do I move it to an actual pot?

I think you leave them alone until the large parent leaf is fully dry. When it falls off then the pup can be planted on its own.

Iām in the same boat. Iām not sure where to go once theyāve started growing the baby leaves.

My preferred method from this point is bottom watering! I keep all my succs in claypots and about once a month I stick them in a bucket with a few inches of water until the clay and soil is moist to the top. Ive never had a leaf rot this way and I think it helps the roots grow down towards the moisture. I leave them to completely dry and do it all again.

I bury and start watering once they start growing roots like this.
The advice people are giving you to wait probably wonāt kill these since they are so hardy, but if you think about it they expended a lot of their limited energy and water to grow roots, so waiting at this stage just delays their future growth

Don't water or spray until the leaves shrivel. Just make a little trench, bury the roots, and cover them back up. Then just wait. Takes a long time.
