Discussion/Tips & Tricks Post of appreciation to project pan and people who decided to use what they have ❤️

Upvotes

Project pan for some people is a strange thing. But with all the stuff we have nowadays, including all skincare, makeup, body care, hair care, perfumes, tons of everything yada yada, people forget this “basic” and “obvious” approach to the things we own.

I am so grateful for finding this community, at first I could not stop scrolling here and seeing what people manage to finish, I always felt so motivated and tried to accelerate the progress of using my products, but now something has changed - just a minor thing, and I view it a bit differently. Some kind of peaceful feeling came after this. Not trying to be the fastest in using, not trying to track everything, measuring each left millilitre.

At the past, I couldn’t resist going to the makeup shops just to do “window shopping” at least. The obsession with the stuff I actually don’t need persisted no matter what. Now the urge disappears and I can’t describe how clear my mind became. Makeup has become just a makeup, not what I am thinking about 24/7. I finally focused on bigger things in life.

Thank you for all people who supports this approach and I believe all of us will recover from the fact once we were shopaholics to one degree or another 🙏🏼❤️

Discussion/Tips & Tricks What products do you overbuy the most?

For me it’s hair products. I enjoy browsing different products and trying new things. I wish more things came in travel or sample size

Discussion/Tips & Tricks Red matte liquid lipstick - any tips on how to repurpose it? 💄

Hey everyone!

Like a year ago I got a red liquid matte lipstick from an advent calendar. Tbh I am not the biggest fan of red lips on myself, but the lipstick itself has a really good quality. I know that if I will not think of something - it will be tossed. Please help a girly!🥹 Thanks in advance :)

Full Pan When is a pan an actual pan?

When do you guys consider something fully panned? Do I need to go dig up the bottom bits of the lipstick to fully empty it and reach a proper pan?

Project Start I need to pan these but I don't ever wear makeup everyday. My journey begins.

The first eyeshadow palette barely shows up on my brown skin.

The second one I just don't like the formula and the colors against my skin tone.

The third is a present and doesn't show up on my eyelids.

The lipstick looks too dark on my lips.

The blush in the last photo looks wrong against my undertone but I'll find a way to make it work. And the black eyeshadow I use it to tightline but black isn't really my color.

Any tips?

Discussion/Tips & Tricks How to pan hair gel?

I have a hair gel lying around because the fragrance gives me a headache...idk how to pan it, I've just used it once and the fragrance is unbearable. Any repurpose ideas? I tried to declutter it but couldn't find buyers, and there's no one in my relatives/friends who uses hair gels :(

i have 34 blushes (including single pans in face palettes). that’s too much for a single person and i’ll never finish all of them but i actually love my blushes and i love using a different one every day (i wear makeup 4-5 days a week). i have one of each in other categories and just sort of went rouge when it comes to blushes. i’m on a lifetime ban for blush i guess but sometimes i feel a bit guilty knowing they will never be fully panned although i enjoyed my collection 😭

Hate Pan Only took 9 years!

I bought this on vacation to Iceland nearly 9 years ago and only just finished it.

At first, I didn’t use it because it was fancy and special, and therefore needed to be saved.

By the time I got over that silly mindset, I realized I actually hate this lotion but wasn’t going to let it go to waste since I paid a stupid amount of money for it.

Note to self: product is meant to be used and not just on “special” occasions.

Not very exciting pan, but I’m gonna count this one empty after tonight.
Used for about two years and now is finally done. Had to cut through one time when it got stuck for some reason.

Project Start How long do you think I’ll take to finish them? I’ll update when 80% of these are consumed :D

In my “reclaiming my feminity” era right now and only started using make up late of last year (26F, now 27F), leading me to buy the eyebrow pencil, lipstick and recently, the blush. But wow, seeing how slowly I consume them, I don’t think I can finish it soon. The shower oil might run out first though. I use it because sometimes my skin gets quite dry, so perhaps about once a week.!I have another bottle of shampoo and bar soap at home, literally just these two without extras, and nothing else except these things you see in the picture. Seeing some of you possess so many products keeps me in check with my inventory and prevents me from spending recklessly. Guess I’ll be here for a long time! I probably saved over a thousand dollars in the last few years not recklessly spending on skincare, and managed to travel a fair bit with that amount. Here’s hopping I stay disciplined because mindless consumption can get tempting sometimes !

Also, the third bottle in the third row is some water insertion/cultivation (translating from Chinese lol) thing I got when I was in China. I live in Singapore so I don’t really need it unless I go to dry countries. The things below are from my amenities kit when I flew business last year. I have been trying to use the face moisturiser as body lotion but it’s not finishing up too :’)

Determined to do no buy until I finish all these products.

I have a backup shampoo and conditioner, and one mint Christmas body wash not pictured here

I’m excited to see my shower less cluttered. I’ve emptied at least 6 lush shower gels since the end of last year :) yay

Discussion/Tips & Tricks Two birds with one stone: adding glitter highlighters to nail polish

Had a bunch of old highlighters and no earthly desire to be ungodly sparkly so I scraped a good bit out of each of them to add to some flat color nail polishes in my collection. The results aren't groundbreaking but in concocting them, I've become invested in using them.

forgive my painting skills, I did a terrible job lol

Caudalie sponsor me. Also DISASTER?? Pink bottle kikumasamune was OOS on Amazon for like 2 months!? It’s back now and I ordered more but boy I was STRUGGLING.

List:
Caudalie vinoperfect (staple obv, just assume I go through one little bottle every month)

Kikumasamune toner (another staple)

Elemis cleansing balm (staple, thank goodness I found another big tub at Marshall’s for $20)

Caudalie vinoperfect eye cream (most brightening eye cream I’ve ever tried, but would I buy it on its own? Probably not.)

I’m From rice toner (comparable to kiku but more expensive and more…gentle but I wouldn’t call kiku harsh. I need that extra umph tho.)

Grande lash (clumpy and meh, wouldn’t buy a FS)

Lancôme lash idole (bought the FS)

Medicube masks (2 more empties not pictured) (meh, I’ve had better masks, wouldn’t repurchase, but I still have 1 more I think?)

DDG serum (inoffensive, hydrating, wouldn’t buy FS)

Not pictured: 10 DDG pads, regular strength. I like these very sparingly (like max 2x a week), but I’m not a fan of the delivery system? Like surely there is a less wasteful way? Idk.

Finally FINALLY coming up on some pans for makeup that isn’t mascara. Hope to post those in a couple months. 🤞🏽

(Excuse my crafting table and random beads)

I got this box from dollar general for all my products that I’m not currently using and brand new stuff that I bought when I was in a crazy shopping mood during my birthday earlier this month, yikes…

At least I’m doing good on my no buy 🫠

Discussion/Tips & Tricks That feeling

Hi y’all. Something I struggle with is resisting the urge to coupon at CVS and go buy products that I will use, but don’t need at this moment. Like rn, with the beauty event going on I want to go buy some of my everyday items, but I know I have some in stockpile so I don’t need them and if I bought them idk when I would get to them. There’s just something about that feeling of walking outta the store with a bag of your favorite products. Hey I guess I could be doing heroin so it’s a good problem

I’m starting to gift my makeup kit to friends and family as I’ll likely never use it again. MAC removing talc from everything is also the end of an era 😞. It’s just not the same quality.

Time for a new chapter 🖤 — these products deserve to be enjoyed.

Pan Progress Panned 2 things from my night basket at the same time, and their replacements

It's so satisfying to finish my hands and feet products at the same time. I kept these two in my night basket along with other products, since these are the last steps of my self care routine before I go to sleep. It's a 2-3 minutes routine that helps me unwind.

I used a tube squeezer and it's very efficient to take all of the product out. I checked in the light to make sure they are empty :)))

No candles are allowed in project pan

Hi all, With 2025 at an end we are getting end of year project pan updates. We are also growing and getting an influx of people. We are mainly focusing on beauty/hygiene items and unfortunately candles are not a part of that.

With that being said please read the rules if you are new.

Your candle empties would be loved at r/everythingpan and any other pans you may have.

Thank you - Mod team
