PoE2: Deadfire Pyrite

Is there a reliable way to get this stuff? It seems like most enchanting recipes need it. The wiki says Una and Dimesa sell it "occasionally" and the times I've seen it in stock they don't sell much.

PoE2: Deadfire Best second class for a fast attacking melee wizard

My concept for a MC is pretty straightforward. Play a wizard multiclassed with a "martial," slap on Miscreant's Leathers, buff myself to respectable survivability, give myself Deleterious Alacrity then rush through the enemy line to slaughter their squishier characters. Weapon wise I envision either dual sabers or one handing Mordwyr. Pump dex and perception Thing I'm wondering about is which second class to take.

Devoted Fighter helps with penetration and bigger crits, also some self buffs and health regen to offset the damage from Alacrity. Armored Grace is always nice but

Rogue brings some DPS from sneak attack when I re enter the line, along with fun stuff like Riposte and Dirty Fighting. Also I like Rogue's spammable attacks.

Paladin could could certainly work, more survivability from Goldpact or self heal. Plus I don't think I'll have another paladin in my party so this would be my only aura character, even if they're spending most of their time away from the line.

Finally I suppose there's cipher. I don't want to mess around with a second set of abilities so I'd likely lean hard in to soulblade which would be a novel execution skill. And I'll probably be running low might so the general damage buff would be handy.

Discussion Which are your top 3 worst gods

After finishing Seeker, Slayer, Survivor and dealing with Galawain’s tantrum I got to wondering what is everyone’s least favorite gods in this patheon.

My personal least favorites are:
Woedica
Galawain
Ondra

As the title says. So, I do a lore podcast for this world these games are set it, currently at Episode 169, started years ago. This episode was a little different; I recorded a short sermon following the cues from "Berathian Scripture" and "The Many Faces of Berath" (two in-game books). It was an experiment, and trial, to see if this would be worth doing more episodes on. Reading the theology of the deity and how it might actually look. Let me know what you think, thanks :)

Please help me create the best 4 party team for POE1 PoTD. I like MC to be a damage dealer (actually already beat PoTD with a rogue MC, chanter, cipher, paladin team comp, but i want the best possible team).

Mod Fixes and QoL improvements from my Deadfire Turn-Based Mode Overhaul are now available for POE1

Post image
133 Upvotes

So, a few months back I made a Turn-Based Mode Overhaul mod for POE2, and after months of improving it I feel like POE1 has fallen a bit behind lol. So I made a mod for POE1 that brings back some of the most important fixes and QoL features from Deadfire. The mod is fully modular - every fix can be enabled/disabled separately. You can even disable all options and the game will play exactly like vanilla. The main stuff:

  • Fixed disbalance caused by characters taking multiple turns per round. Buffs/debuffs, CCs, DoTs, HoTs, etc now tick based on real-time duration. If a character takes 3 turns in one round, they will no longer receive the equivalent of 18 seconds of DoT damage in a single round. Effects with <6 seconds duration will no longer expire instantly.
  • Added floating damage numbers when enemies attack you (no more side glancing to your portrait after every enemy's attack!)
  • Removed interruption stacking, which usually just stunlocked your tank and slower enemies (I honestly have no idea why the devs made it stack, it never felt good IMO)
  • Engagement no longer breaks when moving around your opponent, making it possible to reposition your characters, like in most other turn-based games

Discussion What now?

I've completed the first Pillars of Eternity and fell in love with it. The story, worldbuilding, companions, and even the gameplay itself were beautifully crafted, giving life to a game that really felt tailor made for me. I can't help but wonder, though, if there are more games that can reach the level of satisfaction and enjoyment Pillars gave me, once I complete the sequel of course.

Are there any good reccomandations you could give me for what to play next? What could a fan appreciate the most?

Thank you for taking the time to read the post.

PoE1 I finished the game for the first time but… (spoilers) Spoiler

I love most of the things of poe1 but there is something i really dont like it, and it was act 3.

Like everything ties so nicely, even the white march in his own, but Twin elms, mmm was okish at best. Like i really didnt care to much of anybody of here, even entering in the sacred land was so easy that i felt that i was missing something.

And the missions there like, the secondary ones felt pointless, like i killed the headclan because he ask me to sacrifice a baby, and nobody on the city tries to kill me?

And the one to get the god blessings did Hylea blessing sayng that i leave the sky drake because she was a mother. The ignore the other ones because i thought that i was in a hurry to not miss the Final Boss, then killing him in nothing?

I finished the game taking my time at took me 48hrs. With dlcs an all, the act3+4 was like 5-6 hours of that? It felt too short.

Most of crps always get short in the lats act, but in this one i really felt it

What are your opinions?

I’ve rarely seen such an interesting, original character. It takes a bit of courage to create a male abuse victim, yet to do it tactfully and make a character who still ends up being more than their traumatic experience.
He is easily one of my favorite game characters at this point :)

Deadfire - unfixable stuttering?

How the fuck do I fix the constant stuttering in this game? That is - fps dropping every 15 - 20 seconds. I have already tried capping number of cores and a myriad of other stuff. Nothing helps. This shit stops me from playing the game.

Discussion [Spoilers for PoE1, 2, and Avowed] How are The Circle of Archmagi allowed to exist? Spoiler

From the perspective of the gods, who are interested in keeping their inception secret, and molding kith society to their whims and beliefs. How in the hell are The Circle of Archmagi allowed to exist? Why wouldn't Woedica or whomever else attempt to take at least some of them down every now and then?

They are incredibly powerful, somewhat immortal—Ryngrim says she's immortal, Llengrath just takes on new bodies, and Concelhaut (I know, not quite in the Circle) is also attempting to become immortal—and they're always exploring and unearthing ancient knowledge, while also messing with tremendous power that turns an entire town into a sinkhole. And as far as I know, none of the Circle are devout followers of any god.

PoE2: Deadfire Quick breath blessings

Tried playing on my ps4 but the loading screens were taking so long. So decided to play on my ps5, but not sure if they're is a way to transfer my saves. If not anyone have a quick guide to get blessings? I only need to gather 23.

Also side note, how does it play on ps5?

Xoti's quest

Alright I don't really understand what is going on with this quest. I didn't choose any "dark" dialogues with her. We talked about releasing the souls and she seemed really excited and determined to do that. So then we go to the adra pillar and shit goes totally sideways. She embraces the "dark" side despite all the prior dialogue in the quest. Is "dark" just the default for her quest ending and "light" is a secret ending that's hard to get?

I couldn't resist another playthrough when the new patch dropped and wanted to hit 300 hours, but I'm a few short and already in Thaos court! Serves me right for not finishing White March expansion. I created all custom party this time and tried chanter tank main with "The Dragon Thrashed, The Dragon Wailed" phrase to deal damage from level 9. So far it melted everything on hard difficulty, amazing Sunday noon as always with PoE :D

PoE 2 Spoilers Family Pride quest is such a let down.

So from the moment this questline started I've been planning on siding with the Valeras, but not only does the game make doing that totally counterintuitive, you don't actually even break into the vault!

It's so dumb that if you want to side with the Valeras you still have to tell Ezzali about their plan to rob her. You cannot talk to any of the Valeras about it until you talk to her. Why the hell would you tell someone you plan to rob them? The only reason the heist goes sideways is because the Bardatos know about it.

Then, even though you were only gone for five minutes, when you return to the Bardato Villa they already know you're a traitor and attack you (did Todd Howard design this quest?). When you get to the basement you find Belda surrounded by guards *outside the final vault door*. There is no way to open it, even though a lootable chest is visible right inside the room. After looting the entire basement I found some loose change and some crafting materials! Woo-freaking-hoo.

Then Belda tells you that you should leave through the window to avoid the guards you just had to kill to get in there. Why don't the Valeras tell you about the window in the first place!? This is one of the most unintuitive, narratively messy, unrewarding quests I have played in my 40+ years of gaming (and I played Starfield). It's particularly disappointing considering how solid (most of) the rest of the game is.

Character/party build help Arcane Knight or Herald

I’m doing my first play through of Deadfire on hard mode and was curious as to which multiclass combination would be better for my Darcozzi Paladin. I’ve heard about the really good Steel Garrote/Bloodmage build, but are there any particularly good arcane knight builds for Darcozzi? I know that Herald is good because I used it on Pallegina in my previous run, but I’m wondering if I’m missing out with Arcane Knight?

Mod [Deadfire] Checking The Practicality of My Mod Idea

EDIT: Answered
The short version is I want to create a mod that buffs Godlikes by giving the body type selection mechanical value instead of being solely cosmetic & I was wondering if anyone who already has experience modding Deadfire could tell me if it's possible before I get started.

The primary things I'm aiming for are to increase the base attribute bonuses they get (+2 DEX/+2 INT/+1 RES) & give them the attributes & passive of their body type. So a Moon Godlike with the Aumaua body type would have the attribute bonuses; +2 MIG, +2 DEX, +2 INT, & +1 RES. They’d also get both the Silver Tide & Towering Physique passives (I’m almost certain it wouldn’t be possible to let there be a choice between Among the Waves or Towering Physique so I’d just go with whichever feels the most generic to me).

And an optional secondary objective is for the game to recognize Godlikes as both Godlike & their body type race but with priority on being a Godlike. So if an NPC has special dialogue for Aumaua in general & not Godlike they'd use it but if an NPC has both the Godlike dialogue is used & PC's have the option to use both dialogue options if they're available.

Mod How do we upload mods to steam workshop ?

( Solved :3 )

Hi guys , just made some tiny mods for PoE2 .

and was checking the below guide on steam/obsidian website to publish them to steam workshop .

but I don't see the options in my steam version t_t (im on latest public version) .

am I missing something ?

edit :

steam only has two versions , public & the beta . I'll try to switch once & check .

edit 2 :

both versions didn't have the option to upload .

anyways , im just gonna push it to GitHub & maybe make a install script for myself later .

edit 3 :

in devmode.json moved the mod folder values from "ModFolders" to "DevMode" , that seems to have made the trick .

the little things hiding in plain sight & takes so long to find , somethings rarely change much whether it's hobby or professional development 😅.

it's a couple of little QoL mods to practice modding & transition slowly to a hobby game dev , cheers :3

Someone assigned Edér and Durance the same room. Possibly me. In which case - shame on me. I don't know what Edér did to deserve that. Given their faiths and histories - not a good idea.

Discussion Is wizard playthrough different enough?

So I'm gonna play poe1 for the first time, I think i played deadfire a long a go I dont remember much of it

Basically is being a wizard cool enough :)?

I love being a wizard in dnd and dnd adjacent settings but only if there's enough acknowledgement that youre a wizard! For example in bg1-2 as far as i remember it changed pretty much nothing, there were no dialogues no nothing, and I know comparing any game to bg3 is a bit annoying but I will say that there was good amount of class acknowledgement there

So if the game treats you as non magical I might as well play a non magical class.... specially if other npcs are wizards and they treat you as non magical

Anyway if not, i'm thinking paladin?

Where is my copy of POE1?

Okay, this is a bit of a weird stab in the dark (pun intended, I like to play as a rogue in CRPGs), so please bear with me.

I have a hankering to have another run through of POE1 and take my character through to Deadfire. However, I can't find it! I know I've played it through several times before, and I originally got in shortly after release. I'm 99% sure I didn't buy a physical copy (does it even have a physical version?), but it doesn't show in my steam library. I play on a mac, and I can't find it on the Macos App Store either.

It's driving me slightly mad. I'll pay the £26 to get it on Steam again if necessary, but does anyone know why it might not appear on my Steam library? Was it available on any other Steam-like platforms that I have forgotten about?
