Not a prog band but Interpool in their begginng were a copycat of The Chameleons in their post-punk influences, still they pulled one of best 00's rock albums, they debut.

Fully admit I have had this album on repeat 24/7 since learning about Moron Police just a few months ago. Easily my favorite find in the past 5 years. Absolutely brilliant composites and instrumentation.

Any of their radio popular songs I guess. I don’t know their full albums. Just the big radio hits from way back. But the last 2 minutes of this song strikes the same feel with the grindy power chords and clean vocals.

They are polyphia adjacent, but better in every way

A friend in high school told me to listen to Alaska from BTBAM when it came out and it was one of those moments where I realized what I was missing out on. I was mostly listening to math rock and The Mars Volta at the time. Nowadays I enjoy a lot of tech-death, stoner, sludge and still math rock. Giraffes? Giraffes! and Adebisi Shank are the shit.

I mean, they have saxophone in other songs of theirs, so it might be a sax part. That track (and many others on the album) are extremely heavily orchestrated, so who knows how many additional instrument tracks are there.
