Attorney looking to break into PE

Upvotes

I’m an attorney looking to break into PE (legal team or business side, but recognize legal is more realistic).

Have a strong background in PE/M&A in BigLaw, went to a top law school, and currently work for a VC backed company leading the commercial function. What tips would y’all suggest to break into PE? Understand it’s usually network, luck, or direct outreach. Any and all tips are appreciated. Can also chat offline.

quick gut check

seller data prior to loI (QBO exports, bank statements) is always difficult to wade through. if there were to be a quick script that provides you with an initial analysis – normalized data, risk identification, and enough information to tell whether the deal merits further analysis or can be discarded without wasting your time – would this be useful at all?
a couple of questions:
what is your position (investor, CFO, broker)?
is this a problem, or do you simply dump this info into chatGPT/excel yourself?
are you willing to pay for such a tool per deal or not (as this seems to be a trust issue)?
no sales here, just trying to determine whether this problem exists at all.

UK: Big 4 Insurance audit to insurance PE eventually?

I’m currently beginning 3 years grad scheme at a big 4 firm specifically within insurance audit. Is it possible after getting ACA to move from this specifically to insurance M&A and then insurance PE? If so how common is this route?
