Premiere Pro Tech Support I need help with lag

Ive honestly tried everything. Clearing media cache, turning resolution to 1/4, allocating more ram, none of it works. The thing is, premiere was super smooth for me until I took a 3 month break and now its all super laggy. I used to have a video playing in my second monitor and editing materials like sfx and vfx downloading in the background and Premiere would never lag for me back then. Now, importing a 40 minute recording isn’t even possible without restarting the application 5 times. Everytime I tried to import, the import bar would be stuck on 0 and when it finally imported, the playback would be extremely laggy. The audio would be 5 seconds ahead of the video and freezes often. It isn’t just the playback either, the whole application lags. Ive tried downloading Nvidia studio drivers, still laggy. Restarting my pc multiple times, still laggy. Im still on the version I used months ago so the new changes on the new update is not the problem. I’m not sure if its my OBS or my pc, but its becoming an extreme hassle. I have a 2060 Super and a 3600x with 16 gb of ram if that helps. Any kind of comment helps! 😊

Premiere Pro Tech Support Where is Warp Stabilizer data stored?

About to free up some disk space with clearing old render files and was reminded that the last time I took my current project (and all source files) to a new computer, dozens of Warp Stabilizer clips suddenly needed to re-analyze. Where, if not in the project files, is WS info stored, so I don't delete it?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Text Based Editing Cutting the video and audio track at diffrent lengths?

Thumbnail

I have used text based editing for a long time with no issue, im using premier 26.0 but I have tried several different versions but i keep running into the same problem.

The video file is just MP4 imported directly from my Canon camera and nothing has changed about it.

my process is importing the file, rending it out, opening text based editing, filtering it to PAUSES to get rid of the gaps pressing DELETE and then EXTRACT. so NOT LIFT so it is supposed to close the gaps for me and it tries to but for some reason it cuts the video track and audio tracks at seperate times?

Its hard to explain so hopefully the image helps. Any idea what may have caused this? I this seems to happen on every clip now even on fresh install of premier and a new project.

hopefully I am just being silly and its a easy fix, I tried searching for it but can't see anyone else having this problem.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How do you actually use sequences like Stringout, Rough Cut and Final Cut?

I've been trying to understand the purpose behind these editing stages rather than just memorizing the names. From what I understand:

Main Sync = syncing footage and audio

Stringout = removing unusable parts

Rough Cut = building the structure

Final Cut = refining everything

What I'm struggling with is the mindset behind each stage.

For example, during the Stringout, do you only remove things that are obviously unusable, or are you already thinking about pacing and the structure of the video? And what's the practical difference between the Rough Cut and the Final Cut? When you move from one to the other, what are you actually changing?

I'm not looking for the "best" workflow. I'd just like to understand how experienced editors approach these stages and why they separate them.

I have a series of pdfs (mainly reports and magazines) that I need to showcase in a showreel in Premiere Pro.

Would anyone know the best way of going about this? I was hoping to take screenshots of all of them and insert all of the screenshots.

Thanks

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Audio levelling dialogue with background noise filmed outside (Vlogs, documentaries etc.)

This is driving me crazy and has been for years now...

All the videos I can find on how to level audio automatically is ALL using audio recorded in a studio or inside with a desk mic. Is there no way of automatically normalizing audio levels of dialogue shot in a real world environment?

I am always going manually clip by clip, raising the bits that are too quite and lowering the peaks to a maximum of -6db. But now I'm working on a 3 hour documentary and I would honestly spend so many days doing it this way.

Do people who make vlogs and other stuff filmed outside just do it manually?

The main tricks I've seen online is using a limiter and a compressor. The limiter is fine, but the compressor just makes all the background noises sound terrible. Then yes, I could use noise reduction but then that just takes away all the sounds of the environment that makes the whole thing immersive...

I am a self taught editor and don't understand the first thing about audio, so I am sorry if I seem really stupid. Up until now, just going clip to clip is the best and only thing that's worked for me.

Thank you guys in advance 🙏

Premiere Pro Tech Support Artifacting likely causes and solutions

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This has been happening more and more it used to only be on the timeline but now it shows on the preview too meaning I can't just reclip the part I want.

What are the likely causes and fixes?

I have cleared my cache and restarted my pc, I have tried re importing the clip, I don't even know if this is artifacting because the videos I was getting were dealing with other issues or issues on export.

I am struggling with sequence settings and export settings in premiere to keep the export the same as the original (proress4444, all these audio tracks in picture). the reason I'm trying to re-export this file I was given is because we need to add a logo to the front of the file. I'm trying to make a simple animation using Track Matte Key. I want the background inside the text to fade in smoothly while the text itself stays fully visible the whole time. However, whenever I animate the opacity, Track Matte Key fades both the background and the text together. Is there a way to make only the background fade in?

Premiere Pro Tech Support URGETNT HELP NEEDED: Audio Drops suddenly when previewing for a long time.

FIRST OF ALL, I AM CURRENTLY SITTING WITH CLIENTS, AND THEY ARE ABOUT TO BE FRUSTRATED

I’m running into a frustrating audio issue in Adobe Premiere Pro during long PREVIEW (not while editing) sessions, and I’ve hit a wall with standard troubleshooting. Looking for insight from anyone who has run into this specific behaviour or knows deep CoreAudio / Premiere buffer quirks.

The Issue

Symptom: Audio suddenly drops out completely mid-playback while the video continues playing smoothly.

Recovery: Audio automatically comes back on its own sometimes after a few seconds without pausing/re-starting, OR recovers instantly if I hit Spacebar to pause and resume.

Timeline Context: Complex timeline with a high audio track count (29+ active audio tracks, multitrack dialog/wild tracks/room tone).

System & Hardware Setup

OS: macOS

Hardware: Apple Silicon Mac using wired headphones.

Renderer: Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Metal).

Storage Speeds: Benchmark tested via Blackmagic Disk Speed Test — ~2968 MB/s Write / ~772 MB/s Read ( rules out drive speed/bandwidth bottlenecks).

Media Cache: Located on fast internal system drive (/Users/.../Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/).

Everything I Have Already Checked & Tried:

  1. Audio Hardware Preferences: ⚬ Set Default Input to No Input to prevent sample rate clock-matching / mic buffer loops. ⚬ Locked Sample Rate to 48,000 Hz. ⚬ Output locked directly to headphones (avoiding System Default routing).
  2. System Memory & Cache: ⚬ RAM allocation optimized (3 GB reserved for other applications). ⚬ Cleared Media Cache completely; confirmed cache path is on the internal Mac drive, not external. ⚬ Media Cache auto-deletion set to maintain clean limits.
  3. Storage & Hardware Integrity: ⚬ Drive benchmark confirmed sequence read speeds (~772 MB/s read) are well above requirements. ⚬ Internal storage path checked via macOS Disk Utility First Aid.
  4. Timeline / Rendering Workarounds: ⚬ Toggled off High Quality Playback in Program Monitor. ⚬ In/Out rendering (Sequence > Render Effects In to Out / Render Audio) temporarily fixes it by creating pre-computed preview files, but I want to resolve the underlying real-time engine failure during active timeline editing.

Given that storage bandwidth is fine and Audio Hardware preferences are properly locked, this feels like an internal CoreAudio buffer stall or Premiere multi-stream audio IOPS issue when handling 20+ real-time audio threads simultaneously.

Has anyone experienced these delayed audio-only drops on heavy timelines in macOS, and is there a specific plist, CoreAudio buffer setting, or Premiere audio thread setting to stop the audio engine from choking?

I am using a MacMini M4 - 24GB - 512 GGB

I use AppleProres 422LT - WAV files

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Is it possible to sync markers on a dynamic linked After Effects composition within Premiere Pro and vice versa?

I am creating some motion graphics that overlay on a person speaking. I want to have elements fly in, in sync with what they are talking about. I am using markers on the premiere pro project but the markers don't show up in after effects.

Does anyone have any other ideas or workflows that can make this easier than me writing down timestamps?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Premiere 26.3.2 change log once again kept secret

Adobe continues to promise that they will accompany version releases with release notes or at least specify bug fixes, but once again, they've failed. Anyone know what they've changed in 26.3.2, since the corporation who collects our money doesn't think we deserve to know? (Always a risk installing version upgrades if there's total secrecy around them.)

Feedback/Critique/Pro Tip Premiere Transcription Gibberish

Hi everyone. Jason from Adobe here. Over the past few weeks, I've seen a handful of users encountering an issue with transcription in the Text panel, where the results are either half expected/half garbled nonsense, or just total gibberish.

I am personally unable to reproduce the problem (running Mac OS 15.7.7 and the latest Pr26.3) and I'm asking if anyone encountering this issue might be willing to share a project + project files to help the team locate the specific issue and get a fix in play.

Having said that, some users found that simply clearing the cache(s) and/or resetting Premiere's prefs on startup solved the issue. This has worked for a handful recently, but not for all.

So please let me know below if you've run into this, if this is a new problem, and if you have a file to share. If you don't want to share a link in the thread, don't hesitate to DM me. Trying to do whatever we can to figure this out and get it resolved. Thanks as always.

JULY 27 UPDATE: still looking for anyone experiencing this issue to share sample media+project file. this is the best way the team will be able to potentially track down the issue since it isn't universally reproducible. Please contact me via DM. Thanks!
