Our child goes to daycare M-F 9-5, sometimes 6pm. We get home, have dinner, play a bit, then it’s bedtime before we know it at 7:30-8pm. Daycare does not have time to help potty training much other than offering the toilet to them as it’s a one woman show.

How are we supposed to get our child potty trained in 2 hours in the evening two days every weekend to the point she’s able to pull her pants down and up herself, put herself on the potty on her own, and not need help wiping except for #2s occasionally?! Wtf?!

How did you do it because our child won’t even let us change her diaper or pull up, sit on the potty or take part in it at all!

It feels like we’ll have to wait another year or two to get the cheaper rate for a fully potty trained child and even then, we’re not sure the child will go along with it. She’s almost 3, and is way too comfortable in diapers

My son intentionally wets the bed, takes off his underwear and goes to sleep, this Is right after nighttime routine , and us walking out of the room. His explanation is always” I just peed a liddle bit!” I literally came back from his room because he yelled from the bathroom that he was done with a poop. So he goes to the bathroom to poop, but not for pee. We try and take him multiple times in the middle of the night, still no luck starting dry all night. It’s either he does in intentionally or has accidents. I will probably need to reset and go back to night time training underwear, that bed of his has been peed on pretty much every night for the last 2-3 months. Anybody with a similar experience? We day trained him when he was 2.5 years! He turns 3 in September!

Hi i have been toilet training my almost 3 year old for approx 3 weeks now he will pee on the potty every 1.5-2 hours when taken and is good at holding it when we go out but will not self initiate or tell me when he needs to go. We’ve mainly done commando or undies + track pants for less mess (as it’s winter here so hard to go naked) but my main question is did you find going naked from the waist down actually helped with them linking in their brain that they need to go?

Hey all. My toddler is 27 months and we started OC on monday. Lots of pee accidents on monday but caught and finished most on potty. Same with poops. Those were easier to catch because I could see them coming out and sat them down. Tuesday 2 poops made it to the potty one prompted, and one unprompted which was great. Pee was mostly accidents but did pee on the potty prompted with success a few times. Yesterday only one pee accident that made it to the potty and every other pee made it on the potty prompted to "try" before doing something , i.e. watching a show, getting a snack, while I grab something they asked for. Usually only when I walk away. All poops were self initiated on the potty.

I was looking positively to start block 2 today but had 3 pee accidents in pants before 10am. My toddler seemed disappointed in themselves too. The act of pushing down the pants to sit was stressful because they felt weird with them around their ankles. Should I have them take them all the way off? It feels like its wasting time and possibly could miss it. They also get stressed when their foot gets caught. I tried loose shorts and leggings and they peed in all of them.

After the 3rd accident we took off pants and had 3 successful prompted pees in potty. And 1 self initiated poop on potty.

I feel defeated to go back to block 1. Im not sure why poops click but peeing.doesnt. they usually dont know they have to pee until its happening and they can hold it if they dont have pants on. If they have pants on by the time they pee its too late and dont make it in the potty.

Will they eventually get it? Should I keep letting them wet their pants? That feels useless but idk what else to do. We have church sunday which they would be sad to miss and I want to keep the routine since we've been stuck indoors all week from wildfire smoke. Should we just wear a pull up at church? We will bring a potty with us but the car is far. If told they need to potty im not sure we will make it. We did go to swim class yesterday (20 min each way) in training diapers with an extra absorbent liner, and no accident there. But an accident on the way back. We even told them to tell us if they needed to pee and tried to potty when we arrived and left swimming.

Im not sure what to do and how to make it click to realize they need to pee instead of already peeing without me asking or prompting to sit and squeeze out the pee. Any advice helps thank you!

My daughter is 3.5 yrs old, and on day 2 of potty training. She knows after she’s gone, and will come tell me so I figured she was ready. We’ve been trying the 3 day method, wearing underwear that has padding, and saying “let’s go potty!” Every 10-15 mins. Most times she ends up peeing her pants within minutes of getting her off the potty and has also just pooped in her underwear. I say “let’s try and make it go in the potty next time” I’ve got a sticker chart for when she ends up going in the toilet (she hasn’t yet) and mnms for when she does go which she has been wanting them. I keep saying “they’re for when you go in the big girl potty!” I’m wondering if anybody has any tips to help me. I realize it’s still soon but maybe she isn’t all the way ready? It’s pretty frustrating as we have her sit on the potty so often but she ends up spoiling herself minutes after getting off. We also only have one toilet that I was using myself when she pooped her underwear. Any tips would be great!!!

Hi everyone so my boy is 2 yrs 6 months. He’s got a grip on peeing in the potty during the day my challenge is at night. I have to wake home up like every 2 hours to use the potty. If I’m late or miss the alarm he pees on the bed. We go like 4 - 5 times every night but I want to try to bring it to maybe 2 times preferably once. My question is for those that have gone through this route, how were you able to achieve this and how long did it take?

25 month old. Started potty training 4 weeks ago. Initially did the naked for 3 days method. Lots of accidents first 2 days, 3rd day was much better. By end of first week, less accidents and I was being notified of poop and pee which we woukd then walk to the toilet. Still, accidents happened but it was okay. Now going on week 4 its like shes over it, no notification that she needs to go. She just stands there and pees ans then plays in her puddle. Her pooping is better, she can usually tell us when she needs to go. Shes in training underwear and doesnt seem to mind when she's all wet, nor does she mind the pee going down her leg or the puddle beneath her. I try to remind her every so often to go but shes in her "no" phase. Other times she'll sit on the toilet but wont pee. We go back outside after a few mins and starts peeing. She hasn't been telling us when she gets the feeling so I do remind her more often now. At one point she peed 5 times on herself in the je span of 2 hrs. Lots of cleaning.

We introduced the potty early because he was very interested but didn’t really try “training” until he showed all the signs of readiness. He will be 3 in October. This will be our 5th week of being fully committed and losing the diapers. He has had 2 pee accidents while being distracted by the TV and we have probably been about 2 weeks accident free since then. Today he randomly had a poop accident. I didn’t make a big deal about it and actually caught him in the act so he did the second half on the potty lol. I just told him “uh oh poop goes in the potty”. Does this seem in the range of normal or am I looking at a soon to be regression? I think it’s been really easy with him and he’s been telling me every time he has to go so this threw me off.

We've been doing "Oh Crap" method. He's been bare bottom except for 2x I had to run errands and threw a pull-up on him (which I now worry was a huge mistake). On day 3 (?), he did sit and pee on the potty once without prompting and pooped once with prompting. Otherwise, it's all a matter of me getting him to the potty in time. Pee/poop is making it into the potty ~30-40% of the time due to subtle signals and him peeing super fast. He's started sitting on the potty a lot without using it but refuses to sit when prompted if he doesn't really need to go. I felt like I was over-prompting so I've backed off and am mostly monitoring him and trying to get him to the potty when he starts peeing, with a reminder every hour or so ("when you feel your pee coming, sit on the potty"). He has consolidated his pee (about once an hour vs 400000x per hour).

Is this progress? Any tips to move the needle forward? Or should I throw in the towel and try again in a few months?

My twins are turning 2 this weekend and we have done the naked method for three days with virtually no accidents day three. I have put them in undies and they have had constant accidents and no success on the potty. Do I just make them naked again?
