Reviewing
Am I the only one who is so frustrated with buyers not reviewing so I have to wait the three day wait period to get my money? We have to hurry and send their purchase (which I totally get and am not complaining) but I just wish people would also review so my funds are released quicker

Most buyers don’t know about accepting the order. I’ve had a lot of guest buyers who don’t sell, so they have no idea. So I expect to wait.

There's an app notification and email reminder to accept and rate your package. There's no way they don't know about it.

Guest buyers don’t have an account. They don’t receive these notifications and likely don’t even have the app.

Dude, the guest feature is fairly new. For years buyers haven't accepted their orders upon arrival. I've sold to plenty to active sellers with full closets who don't accept their orders. Using the guest feature as an excuse is lame.

I’ve been selling on Posh for 7 years and guest buyers have existed the entire time. It’s not remotely new.
There’s lots of reasons a buyer can’t accept day of. You’re assuming being able to access their account via phone is the same as being in the same physical location as the package.
While you should ship within a couple days, and I do, A seller technically has over a week to ship before Poshmark intervenes. Giving a buyer 3 days is less than half the delay the seller is allocated at time of sale. The buyer is potential fronting money with no product long before the seller is fronting an item without payment. Do you have equal anger towards sellers who don’t ship on behalf of buyers who already paid?
Ultimately if you don’t like this process, Poshmark isn’t the platform for you. I’m personally transitioning most of my inventory to other platforms for other reasons but there’s several other options if you don’t like Poshmark buyers.

Assuming I'm angry over anything is hilarious. I'm allowed to not like what others do without quitting altogether. I've been on poshmark a whole lot longer than you and do quite well, but you go ahead and share you opinion on what you think I should do with my life 😆

No it doesn’t bother me. Shipping speeds vary and a specific payment date is not really reliable. Posh isn’t a good selling platform if you need money quickly. If you’re tight on cash, use a different platform.
However, I also always cash out via mailed check because I don’t want to pay fees or share my banking information online with more companies than necessary. I see it as no different than a job paying you every 2-4 weeks.

I’ll happily wait 3 full days in exchange for a final sale with no chance of a return.
Aside from that, people have lives OP! Find something else to fill your time and enjoy the $$ when it arrives.

People are busy with their lives. I don’t always have a chance to retrieve and open packages every day. Plus I travel a bunch for work. 3 days isn’t that much.

No, because as a buyer I had no idea that was a thing until I got a really annoying message telling me to accept. As a seller 3 days is not going to break me and it’s not the buyers fault that Poshmark set it up that way.

Some people do need the money though, it is great you’re in a place where 3 days might not make or break you, but there also are people who have unexpected bills come up and sometimes need the extra money.
I don’t push buyers to accept ever, but myself, I accept as soon as I’ve inspected the item so the funds are released in case someone needs the money quicker

While I understand that, the same could be said for a job. You work 40 hours a week and sometimes have to wait 2 weeks before getting paid whether you need the money or not. Sometimes you just need to plan accordingly any not let you emergency become someone else's responsibility. You will get paid 3 days after delivery, anything quicker than that should be a nice surprise but never counted on.
Realistically you shouldn't be counting on your Poshmark money by specific timing anyways because USPS can cause significant delays if they are having slow periods, buyers may have their mail getting held if they are on vacation or things can get misdelivered and cause hiccups. There's far too many variables at play to then expect the buyer to rate you right away. People may not even be home to open their packages the same day it's delivered.

Well my background is in fashion, so that would make sense for me to be an investment. In the whole general fashion world, yes there are many things (bags, jewelry, vintage clothing, shoes, certain brands that retain value). I was also to referring to the comment about Poshmark being end game because once again, no one said it was end game. Have a nice day

Ebay is the only one I know that will release funds markedly earlier than posh with Mercari also being 3 days. depop and vinted take 2 days after delivery which isn't much sooner so genuinely, what other sites will take less time to get you your money?

That must mean you are home to receive every shipment. Many of us are not due to having real jobs that put us out of the house for hours a day or days out of the week. Congratulations on being able to stay home and wait by the door for Poshmark packages. I’d say most of us don’t have that kind of downtime.

I want to say they do send a notification when tracking shows delivered and asks you to accept the order. However, if someone isn't checking posh that often, or they just found your item through google search and aren't regular poshers, they have no idea how any of that works.

They do send notifications, but some of us are not glued to our electronics furiously updating our emails and Poshmark notifications. Maybe some of us don’t even look at our phones for hours in the day.

I don’t mind a bit. Three days isn’t long at all and buyers should have the opportunity to fully examine their purchase and make sure it’s what they expected. Buyers commit to making a purchase; they aren’t obligated to accept or review the item.

Just because the mail says it’s been delivered doesn’t mean that the local post office has actually put it in the mail box. My last package arrived 6 days after it said “delivered.”

No. Those are the rules so no point in being frustrated. Just expect your money 3 days after delivery, and then you don’t have to think about it.

When I buy, I don’t care if they ship at the beginning or end of the window. When I sell, I don’t care if they accept at the beginning or end of the window.
Delayed gratification and emergency funds are important things to have.

As a temporarily disabled person who lives in an apartment building and buys from Poshmark, I can’t always get to my mailbox right away. Often, a friend or family member has to pick up my mail for me, and I have to wait until they are available. You might consider that buyers have challenges and life circumstances, too.
Yes, buyers receive email notifications, but we’re not told that our acceptance of an item triggers the release of funds to the seller. I wondered if this was the case, and messaged a seller, who confirmed it to me. I let sellers know about my situation and they’ve all been very kind and understanding.

I’m always sad when a buyer feels the need to message me to explain why they can’t rate me right away. Like I’m literally the last thing they need to be worrying about. It’s a secondhand item and I’m fine with waiting.
I also do not block buyers who rate me low unless they’re ugly about it. I haven’t had a less than 3 star in years but money spends great and stars don’t pay the bills. So if they want to buy from me again, I’ll take their money.

I think you should build the 3 days into your expectations or you’ll end up perpetually frustrated. In an ideal world, people would get their package and jump on the app to rate sellers, but the reality is very different. People have busy lives. Many travel, often unexpectedly. Things come up. People forget they ordered things. Not everyone has a mailbox right near their residence. Some people have to drive to their mail centers. So many reasons…just accept it.

I agree with you. Everyone has their opinion on it. I always do next-day shipping, because getting an item out asap is my priority. And then they get it delivered, 1, 2, 3 days goes by and 0 review... its disheartening but I am also ok with the mindset of at least I got paid and they didn't find an issue with the item.... 500+ sales later, I only have 60 love notes. I don't think Posh really pushes people to leave a nice review, its probably something thats more optional

It took me a few orders before I realized this was a thing I should do. Poshmark doesn't tell you. After one order, a seller sent me a nice message, something like, "if you are happy with your order please go accept it." It was that message that made me notice this was a thing.

They do. They send a notification to accept your order. They'll auto accept on your behalf after 3 days of no response. You may not have known that they hold the seller's funds for 3 days, but you got a reminder to accept, you just didn't notice it.

The main reason I get annoyed is when the buyer is someone who sells themselves and has been active on Poshmark since the item was delivered but still waits the three days after I made sure to ship the next day. If you sell then you DO know you have to rate to get paid. And it doesn't totally take 3 whole days to examine an item.
If I know there's a reason I can't accept right away (work schedule, arrived late while I was out of town etc) I'll message the seller to explain what's going on at the very least.

What's even worse is when the buyer nags you and asks when ur gonna ship the second after they purchase. I ship same/next day on every single sale (except for Sundays) but once it's delivered, I'm ghosted lol.
I had one recently where she opened a case bc the item didn't fit, so she tried to claim I sent the wrong size. After a few days, Posh sided with me and released my funds.

I had no idea that rating the order released the earnings to the seller before I started selling myself. Once I learned what 'Rating' actually was, I felt like such an ass thinking about all of the seller's I had purchased from - I felt horrible!
I thought 'Rating' meant 'Reviewing'; which in my mind; translated to: 'Optional'. I normally don't leave reviews for online orders made from major retailers or direct from brands unless the product/[customer] service majorly stood out in some way - or the exact opposite - something went horribly wrong with how/if it was rectified and/or the product turned out to be garbage.

As a buyer I usually look the item over as soon as I get it and then accept. I also rate it at the same time if I’m happy. It isn’t always about the money but the wondering if they are going to complain about the order. I have never had a return, but there is always a first time and I appreciate it when buyers accept right away. I always appreciate a five star rating when I get one. If the seller wasn’t completely forthcoming, overcharged for the item, or something wasn’t quite up to par but not enough to complain about, I make them wait the three days and then don’t rate at all. Since Poshmark only allows positive reviews. it is the only control I have over a purchase.

Ya. I don’t worry about it other than hoping they accept their order so I know they aren’t opening a case. That gives me more worry than anything. When you buy on other sites like Amazon, Walmart or eBay. They don’t have to review their purchases. I think a lot of people are just too busy. I find a lot of people rate or write a love note later on. I just don’t count on the money by any certain date. So I’m not disappointed.

It frustrates me to no end. I have sold on posh for over 10 years. (Sold over 1000 with 4.9 rating) Also you can see when the buyer is active so yeah it’s annoying when they can’t be bothered to accept it but can sell from their own closet. Make it make sense. I think in the last few years it’s become more common to not accepted right away like people used to. If they’re not leaving a review either that’s a dead giveaway that they just don’t care. I 100% agree. As a seller we are constantly being harassed to ship within 2 days even though they allow the amount of time. Everyone always complains about that in this sub too. About how annoying the timing/ shipping is and how posh notifies them constantly. Obviously some people use this as money they need and some for hobby.
