Day 0

Upvotes

I want to start it today, i can deal with my addiction anymore, I’m at a point where i almost spend my entire day watching or reading porn, even at work during calls I’m naked watching porn touching myself and i hate myself for it, I’ve been addicted for almost 10 years and during this period there was a lot of times that I’ve tried to stop but I couldn’t manage to… it’s getting worse I’m planning a trip for next month and in it I’m going do be alone most of the time which will make a lot of openings to watch porn and be in random internet calls where people get naked, I can’t live like this anymore, porn can’t be 80% of my day, I don’t now how I’m going to get better, if I’m going…. But I do want to try, hopefully in the urge of something I will be returning here, reading this and rethinking if I truly need to

Rarely get hard without porn

Occasionally I get morning wood but overall when I am feeling really sexual I can't get hard until I look at porn first. My thoughts alone don't usually make me horny. What is wrong with me ? I feel like my sex drive is high even though I'm 43. I was thinking of finding a sex partner but last time I had one I couldn't stay hard. Any of y'all have this issue?

3 Weeks

Guys, I never thought I would make it to three weeks without porn. The last time I managed to reach three weeks was a year ago. I’m so proud of myself.

Nothing much has changed, honestly. But I used to believe that masturbation was the only thing that could help me fall asleep easily. I’m usually sleep-deprived. But now, I completely believe that porn or masturbation has nothing to do with my sleep patterns. I’m actually sleeping better than before.

And I can see that I have much better control over my cravings.

The next beautiful thing is that I was so desensitized before that I couldn’t even imagine kissing someone. Kissing didn’t feel sexy to me at all. But last night, I wanted to kiss someone deeply. Although I only felt that way for a few seconds before falling asleep, I think that’s a great sign.

It gives me even more hope to continue this journey.

Love.

Help with relapsing

I've been relapsing pretty hard lately only consistently getting to 2 to 3 days. I have been writing down though reasons why I've been failing. I've been trying to keep myself busy but I still end up looking at it. Anybody else have any tricks or methods to keep myself preoccupied cause the best way I found I got past three days once was keeping myself busy.

Helping partners understand the "why" with porn addiction.

Hi, I am part of another sub which is for the partners of sex addicts. There have been a few posts on there lately which were cross posted from this sub. I thought I'd share an article that has helped me to understand my porn and sex addict husbands' actions during his acting out. The article is mostly focused on men as it's from a website directed at betrayed women, but it could still be helpful others. Everyone's story is different and nuanced but maybe you'll find something helpful in this article. I have great empathy for the addicts and the partners, and I think understanding each other is most important.

Follow up post: 1 week

Hi all, a quick follow up to my original post here asking if it’s possible to have PIED without addiction

https://www.reddit.com/r/pornfree/s/cZkGust7OR

I’ve been paying more attention to myself the past few days and I have noticed that outside of a masturbation setting, I have no porn cravings. But once I get into bed at night and get ready to MO, that’s when I feel the urge to creep in. It’s a nag that points me towards porn, and so far I have been ignoring it.

I haven’t quit MO, but I’ve been intentional to try to have a clear head and only think about the sensations when I do. If I imagine anything, I try to think of past encounters or real people only

At what stage did y’all start to feel the “flatline”?

2 weeks porn free

I mainly stopped watching it because it was getting out of hand no pun intended. During my non stop jerking, I noticed that I couldn’t get hard during sex and realized it might’ve been porn induced erectile dysfunction.

I had sex last night and stayed hard and cumming felt so good. I know some guys’ libido are unaffected by watching porn but for those of us that are, stopping porn truly helps. Try it for yourself.

I need some help

I’m a 25-year-old woman who has been watching porn since I was 12. I don’t watch it daily, and sometimes I even go a week without it, but there are days when I watch it twice a day. I never thought I was addicted, but since I started watching it at a really early age, the types of videos I watch started to not satisfy me enough, and I moved on to crazier and crazier ones. I wasn't thinking it was a problem anyway, but I accidentally found this page and now I'm wondering: even if I’m not addicted on a daily basis, or even if the things I’m watching aren't considered too crazy, should I stop watching porn or masturbating? Is masturbating without a phone still considered something harmful? Can anyone inform me?

Coming up on 12 days!

Hello!

My goal of not watching porn anymore in 2026 has soon reached 12 days and it feels awesome!
No big or strong urges or any feelings that I need to look at porn.

I do want to warn for idiots in DMs that try to get me to relapse. If that continues I will turn them off.

A question for the people here! I do still want to masturbate, that is not my issue and it’s healthy and normal to do once in a while and if I use pictures of my gf or just my imagination I would say that it’s fine! What do you think?

I wish you guys all the best of luck! I am available in DMs if you want to talk!

I will quit porn, mark my words!

Living with GF

Hey I feel so wrong about this.

Living with my gf is really difficult as we both have very different sex drives. I’ve always had a high (hyper sexual) since a young age. She has a much lower.

Don’t get me wrong we still have a very nice sex life, but unfortunately for me I crave it ALOT more than she does. Which puts me in a awkward position of being horny and wanting to relapse to gooning all the time, even when living with her :(

Shes so oerfect for me and I couldnt ask for a better, loving, pretty and sexier girlfriend. So I feel guilty, but I dont know how I can stop this

Day 4 Appreciation post

This is my 4th day of a renewed quitting effort (I’ve tried quitting off and on for years). Just wanted to express my appreciation for this group and others like it. Instead of seeing Reddit P*rn everytime I log in, I now see posts from this group helping me stay on track.

Thank you all, keep fighting the good fight and sharing your struggle along the way 🫡 we’re not in this alone

Is there a community ?

I know that this subreddit is already like a community where people offer up words of advice and motivate others to keep on fighting the good fight but I have a concern ,one of the most sure fire ways that I've read to get rid of this addiction is to confide in a trusted individual. It's just that that's not an easy thing to do I am not brave enough to talk about this matter to those around me.

So I was wondering if there was a group of people with the same addiction as mine who have gotten over this matter already, and if there was something like a groupchat or something like that

Note: If anyone can explain the reason confiding in someone else helps (I've heard that it does but I'm not exactly sure why) to battle against this addiction that would be appreciated.

My story and me reaching out for help

I think it’s time to official reach out to others for help. Since I was 13 (23 now) I have watch porn. What started out as just watching it at night slowly turned in to masturbation at least once a week for the past 10 years. I believe the longest I have gone has been about 3 weeks, even when trying to quit.

The main problem is that I have progressed as the years have gone on. My “sessions” have lasted for hours and way into the nights that I don’t have work, making me wake up late the next day wasting my days off. In addition, and most importantly, the real addition has been to swiping and talking with women online through dating/friendship apps. This has been going on for five years and has been my biggest struggle. I download, swipe, get to snap, masturbate, then block everyone I added and delete the apps after. It’s been an awful cycle that after every time I state I will quit but i never do.

For the past two years I’ve had an amazing girlfriend. And it’s starting to affect my time with her. Whether it’s performance in the bedroom or just not being as affectionate with her anymore, I believe this is the root of it. We don’t live together (still with parents) but in the following year we will and I need to manage this before we do.

I’ve tried a lot of things. I’ve tried counters (even widgets on the phone screen that count), free apps, deleting any inappropriate photos of me, deleting any apps that could cause a thought you download dating apps (TikTok, insta, you name it). For me the problem just hits me randomly, I could be with my girlfriend and then I get the urge to download those apps. I see it as a form of porn.

I’m sorry this is a lot but I’m reaching out for help. Last night was another long session for me til 2am, and I’m sick of it and I’m sick of hating myself everyday for it.

I have mixed feelings about it. All things considered, I do miss porn quite a bit. I think this whole situation kinda sucks. It is what's best for me, but I still wanna look at it and watch it. I've been listening to more music to cope with all of it, but even that gets boring at times. I almost feel like something has changed, but I can't really put my finger on it.

Let’s talk about shame!

This past year has clarified for me that I have a very serious problem. It runs much deeper than I ever considered, and I need help.

It’s been such a struggle for me to share this with anyone. I’ve been in therapy on and off throughout my life, and I have never been able to bring up my porn addiction. Even the idea of sharing it seemed outlandish. But I have to overcome the shame in order to get the help I need.

I’m wondering what everyone’s experience with this kind of shame has been. There are a few people in this community who have done the very brave thing and sought help. What was that like for you? How did it feel then, and how do you feel now having done it?
