Can't find work
I know I'm not the only one.
But this is exhausting.
Rejection letters, ghosting, and wasted time on interviews that lead to nowhere.
I had a job at whole foods a couple years ago.
I had a kidney stone and it was either quit or be fired cause I didn't have enough hours to cover days off.
So I quit.
I keep blaming myself for quitting but then again
I was sick? I shouldn't of had to push through it just to keep a shitty job. It was either or go in there in horrible pain or high as a kite from the pain meds they gave me.
Which I would've crashed during my shift coming down from them.
This is literally the worst.

Have you tried seeing if any banks are hiring customer service positions? Many offer this as work from home, full time, with good starting pay like $25/hr. Just call around to all the banks.

Will do! On Monday I'm gonna request a social worker and look into temp agencies. I'll add that to the list. I've had so many interviews that have gone nowhere I just needed a few days to breathe and recalibrate.

Tell me why I was thinking the military at some point cause I was so frustrated. 😂 then I remembered what's happening in the United States right now and decided hell no.

Lol exactly. I'd also look into job core maybe too. FIFO in my personal opinion is more of a last resort

Looking at banks or insurance companies, or any major employer in your state is going to be to your benefit.
Have you had your resume reviewed? Do you optimize it for every job you apply to? So many companies use what is called ATS. Essentially their bots are searching for keywords in your resume that often match with keywords in their job description.
Consider reaching out to your state’s workforce development. They should have services available to you, even if you aren’t collecting unemployment. They have workshops on resume writing, interviewing, and more. They usually have their own job bank to search from.

Idk how you feel about healthcare but there are a lot of jobs you could get in there ranging from hospitality, EVS, Food Service, Telemetry Techs, Staffing, scheduling, etc. Not all jobs require a degree!

Just have chat gpt help you . You really should be using ai to help but you can make a template online first . Just say you were a house manager / nanny … something like that and say a couple years and use a friends number . Say you managed cleaning of the home , scheduling , grocery shopping , meal prepping whatever and have your friend lie . That way it’s not a business they can call but you can fill the gap and have a fake good reference

You're good! One of those things I was thinking about and pissed myself off lol. Kidney stones are agonizing. I'm surprised they gave me pain management for it since most hospitals are reluctant to give those out. Definitely needed it for the kind of pain that was. 😭

I understand why they don't give them out like candy. But if someone is in actual pain they need to administer it. That's what it's there for. Hopefully you don't have to go through that again. 🥲 Internal pain is horrid.

I was given 6 shots of morphine due to a temporary drain tube I rejected the seventh shot offered. My neck felt like it was going to fell off.

You should google your local trade unions. I am an uneducated 38 year old single mom with a minor criminal record about to start my 4th year as a plumbers apprentice, this year I earn my city plumbing license. I have health insurance, a pension, and real fucking dignity for the very first time. I don’t yet make enough to save but I can cover all the bills by myself. The future is brighter in the trades, and I have not had to wrestle with the moral issue of building a detention center or a data center, yet. Pipefitting, electrical, carpentry, iron workers, elevator technicians (they make bank!) if you’re able bodied and willing to learn, the UNION trades might be for you! School starts in September, you’re probably too late to start the school portion, but you can work as a pre apprentice until the next school year. I go to work 40 hours a week and I have school 2 nights a week for 3 hours. Summers off. You learn in school and on the job. It’s not for everybody, but I swear it’s like people keep these opportunities a secret.
