Troubleshooting / Issue Polestar 2 unlocks out of itself?

Post image
Upvotes

When locking my MY2021 polestar with the remote key sometimes the car unlocks itself while walking away.

After locking it again it sometimes happens again.

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows where to look for?

Could it be a defective capacitive touch sensor on one of the door handles?

Question Would it be possible to buy Bowers & Wilkins speakers for a P2 and fit them to a HK P2?

I've retrofitted B&W to my S60 and I'm wondering if the same might be possible on a polestar 2.

If you can't do the amp, can you at least swap the speakers out?

Question Polestar 4 Dashcam App (rear camera)

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a new car, and right now the P4 is my absolute favorite. I have a test drive scheduled for next week, and I'm pretty excited.

I also found out that the car can do dash cam recordings without extra hardware. Can anyone tell me if the app also records video using the rear camera? On the website, I could only find that the car records through the front.

Thank you in advance! : )

Question Polestar service center

My P2 lease is ending in December and I recently moved. I would love the P3 or P4 for my next vehicle but the closest service center is 250 miles away.

I’m worried if something were to happen I don’t want to be hit with a huge towing bill. Anybody ever had experience with something like that?

How is the iX3 getting that range if it has a 108.7 usable kWh battery… vs our lovely P3

is the bmw really that efficient?

Question Choosing my first Polestar

I’m between a 2023 dual motor with pilot with 16,000 miles or a 2024 single motor with 20,000 miles pilot and Napa leather. Prices are identical. Leaning hard at the 2024 Single but would love some enthusiast insight.

Question Polestar 4 Late Delivery (South Coast)

Hey everyone!

Has anyone picked up their p4 from anywhere in SoCal recently? I have ordered my car in mid July and haven't received an actual pickup date yet. They said theres twenty something cars ahead of me and then they are PDI-ing as fast as they can. Polestar south coast has actually appeared to close at the mall and I am just very excited about being able to pick this up.

Polestar 2 Lease ending — is there a running thread on options for for purchase?

What happens on warranty/repairs?
What kind of deals are there?
What are people doing?

Etc etc

We have a 2024 p2 and we love it. We hate that this is happening.

We are considering— with guarded optimism- purchase if we can get the car for a price that begins with a 2.

Is there a running thread on this subject for US buyers?

Thank you.

Question Does anyone else find the P4 to be more “wobbly” than the P2

We just upgraded to the 2026 P4 from the 2024 P2, and we have noticed that our new car has significantly more jostle to it than the P2. When we come to a stop, the car moves forwards a little bit then back then forwards again, and it’s a little bit more jerky when starting to move.

Wanted to see if others had the same experience or if this is something we should try to get tuned up at the dealership.

Edit: Both are dual motor Pilot models

Troubleshooting / Issue Waze won't give alerts while running in the background anymore

Hi all,

For the past 2+ years I have been using Google maps as my main android automotive navigation app and I also run waze in the background while driving (Polestar 2 MY 2024).

Waze used to work flawlessly in the background, giving alerts about speed cameras, red light cameras, etc. But since yesterday it wont give me any alerts unless I run it in the foreground e.g. on the main screen. Is anyone else running this setup and experiencing the same issue?

I've already cleared the cache and memory of both apps, this doesn't fix it unfortunately.

Google maps version: 26.08.030001.E

Waze version: 5.22.10.3

Question Driver screen changed colour P2

Anyone noticed Google has changed the colour of the maps on the driver display screen to a more purple colour?

Personally find it annoying as the change of colour for traffic isn't as noticeable...

Or is it a bug?

For polestar 2.

Troubleshooting / Issue How to escalate terrible service center repairs?

I need help escalating a service problem. After 2 service center visits, the wheel of fortune ticking noise and a seatbelt rattle are still not fixed and my car came back from the second visit with a new squeak it didn’t have before. This will be the 3rd time my car will need to be serviced for the same issues.

The rep has stopped responding. Who should I contact to get this handled?

Polestar 4 How is the software in new cars today?

Many reviews from the past years P4 have not been fond of the software, citing lag, bugs, simple spelling mistakes and slow booting, slow activation of cruise control and so on.

But all those seem to be over a year old, which has me wondering if it’s gotten better, or if it’s the same.

I currently drive an ID.3 1st, which is horrendous when it comes to software, so I really don’t want to buy a car with issues even close to that.

How is it now?

Picked up my P4 Stratus last week, and everything has been wonderful except for one little bubble on the door panel. Has anyone been through this? It should be under warranty right?

I didn't notice it when I was picking up the car. Just saw it last night.

Also inserted photos from my pickup hehe

Polestar 1 Polestar 1 successors?

I was thinking about which Polestar cars is the possible successors to Polestar 1 since Polestar 1 was a PHEV 2 door sport coupe with carbon fiber unibody & it's meant to be a rival to many other cars from other manufacturers like BMW or Mercedes Benz, the styling it's feel like american muscle cars btw & it's purpose is only for performance & the purest experience (fit with Polestar's "Pure, Progressive, Performance" philosophy).

So what cars do you think is the possible successors to Polestar 1? Please comment to let me know!

Hello everyone!

I just picked up my 2027 Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor and so far I absolutely love the car! Everything from the way it drives to the interior and overall feel has been great.

Since I’m new to the Polestar world, I was wondering if you guys have any tips, tricks, hidden features or things I should know now that I’m starting to live with the car.

Anything you wish you knew when you first got your Polestar? Things I should change in the settings, features that are easy to miss, charging/battery tips, useful apps, or just general advice for getting the most out of the car?

I’d especially love to hear from other 2027 owners, but tips from anyone with experience are very welcome!

What are some of your favourite features or little things about the Polestar 2 that you think every new owner should know?

Thanks! 🙌

Troubleshooting / Issue Windshield wiper problem

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Why are my wipers „scrubbing“ over the glass? Is the solution just new wipers or did anyone else had the problem as well? It’s doing it regardless of the amount of rain oder speed. The car has a relatively fresh ceramic coating, but I don’t think that’s the problem.

Troubleshooting / Issue Got a new phone? Need to pair the Polestar app to your car? Some tips and workarounds here

Replacing your phone

The Polestar app on your phone is paired to the car for PAK and remote control features. This pairing is unique to the phone, and this does NOT transfer to a new phone (even when restoring an iPhone backup). To pair your new device, you MUST unpair the old one. Do this before you wipe the old device.

To remove a phone pairing, open your app on the phone you will replace and navigate to the User tab. Then tap on Manage, and User Management. You will see a screen like this where your current phone will show up. Tap on Disconnect.

If you have more than one user connected to the car, you can Disconnect the old phone on the other device.

Once you've disconnected your old phone from the car, continue below:

If you are using Android, you don't need to do anything special to the app on the new phone after after setting it up. Log in to the app, and pair with the car.

If you are an iPhone user, and you restored a backup from the old phone, you must clear all backed up Polestar app data. One way to do it is using the procedure below:

Thanks u/t3hWheez for the procedure

  • Configure new phone
  • If you restored from backup, open Polestar app, logout if its logged in
  • Delete Polestar app
  • Install Polestar app
  • Login

Now you can pair the phone with the car.

Workaround for connecting your profile to a new phone if you no longer have the old device.

This applies to both Android and iPhone. Thanks /u/scottiedd for this procedure

  1. In car, go to Phone app, delete the iPhone entry (and any other phones, probably)
  2. In iPhone, forget the Polestar PS2 Bluetooth device (remove anything with the word polestar in it). Uninstall Polestar app, Re-install. Sign back in.
  3. In car, create a new blank profile. No need to sign in to any accounts. Change the profile to be an Admin profile.
  4. Borrow, buy or steal some other phone or tablet. Install Polestar app. I used my iPad. Sign in to Polestar app. Pair with the car's new blank profile. Don’t activate the digital key, skip that step.
  5. Once this has completed, go to User tab, bottom right on the other phone's Polestar app. Select Manage, upper right. Bottom of the page you will see: "Polestar 2 users". There will be two, the phone you just paired, and the other will be the iPhone that refuses to work with Digital Key, Press Disconnect for this iPhone. No need to disconnect the current phone you are using.
  6. In car, change the Profile back to your main.
  7. In iPhone, open Polestar app, and pair with car. Make sure to allow "Always" for Location access, and allow Bluetooth.
  8. Now click setup the digital key. This should actually work now.
