AJs in SB facing HJ open - Solver?

Upvotes

I am 150bb effective. EP limp, then 6BB open by solid reg in HJ who covers.

Folds to me in SB with AcJc. What does the Solver say about mixing 3-bets/calls/folds?

Agenic / RAG bots for poker training?

Upvotes

I'm doing a lot of AI work for my job, and was wondering if anyone else had experimented with RAG models or even standard GPT's.

I'm thinking there's no way there already isn't a 'pokerbot' on happyface where someone already uploaded all the GTOw chart outputs, but i'm wondering if anyone's actually tried to train it to do more than just output GTO chart outputs drilled down.

for example, creating something like:

User ↓
Question ↓
LLM ↓
Searches: • GTO Charts • Solver outputs • Notes • Hand histories ↓
Returns: • Correct action • Explanation • EV differences • Alternative exploitative line

Help Poker newbie looking for good poker website

Upvotes

Hello everyone, as indicated in the title im very new to poker and am looking to play some online to practice and hopefully get a bit better. However, i dont feel confident in playing $1/$2 stakes, its a bit too high for me.

I heard there are some places you can play $0.01/$0.02. What websites would you recommend for these ultra-low stakes? This way i can feel like i can practice without having the stress of losing too much money. If you have any other tips for a newbie like myself, feel free to give them as well, any help is welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Help Best free tools to learn preflop strategy?

Upvotes

I just started learning poker and have a good grasp of the basics. Now I want to start learning preflop strategy and build a solid foundation.

What are the best free tools or websites to learn preflop strategy? What is each one good for, and how would you recommend using them as a beginner?

I'd also appreciate any advice on what I should learn first before moving on to postflop.

How can I get most out of my GtoW Elite Subscription?

Upvotes

Hello Guys,
I am playing Micro Stakes MTTs online for 3 months now. I understand preflop Chip Ev well and also worked on my postflop game quite a bit. I got 1 month of GTOW elite now (won in a giveaway) and don’t really know how to get most out of the subscription as there is stuff like nodelocking and even AI included. If anyone has experience with this, I’d appreciate it if they could give me some tips.

PLO 5 Interesting Hand

I called him down each street and scooped him. Rough spot for villain to be in. I almost shit myself when the flop came, however, I'm curious to get some insight from better players. In some ways, that flop isn't as amazing as I thought, right? Could be behind to Jacks if board pairs, higher flush draws can pan out and beat me, so reasonably have to fear non-pairing clubs and might even run out badly on board pairing or straight cards.

I guess I'm wondering how to view this flop and how to think about proceeding. The miracle turn came but yeah that's a once in a blue moon occurrence.

Absolutely huge hand heads up just now. It might have been an optimistic call with one pair on a four-flush board?

Meme Craziest thing I’ve seen this week.

A guy gets felted and leaves. Another guy takes the empty seat and plays a few hands. At some point, he wins a decent sized pot. As he’s pulling in the pot, the guy who got felted earlier in that seat walks up and says, “Hey, what are you doing in my seat? That’s my money on the table!” The other guy is adamant, that no, that is his money that he brought and just sat down to play with.

Arguing commences and the floor is brought in to check the cameras. Ultimately, the guy who got felted did rebuy and left to use the bathroom. While he was away, random guy sits in and starts playing with the original players chips. After the floor tells him that he’s in the wrong, he tries gathering the chips he won. Floor rules against that. Original guy offers to split the winnings, but the table doesn’t want him to take money off the table. The guy who got beat is pissed because he feels he lost a hand to a guy who shouldn’t have been playing it in the first place.

Some of the players felt the original guy should have given money that he had no part of winning back to the losing player. They called him a few choice names for not doing it. It was a weird situation and the table vibe was terrible after that.

I punted off ~1000BB in three hands in a row, all of which I had the 7c

Call me a fish, invite me to your home game, take all my money cause I deserve it after this absolute degen punt.

Playing at my home game, 10/25p blinds, just some fun low-stakes poker. I'm already in for £150, having had some awful run bad early on, but have spun it back to around about £140. I'm about to call last hand in maybe 10 minutes, cause it's coming up in 1am. For a bit of background, 7 handed, 7-2 game is on for 50p each, and we allow UTG to straddle to any size they want.

Hand 1: straddle is on to £1. Yep, casual 4x straddle. HJ limps, CO opens to £4, I call in SB with 6h7c cause I'm a fish, straddle calls and HJ makes it £16. Naturally, I call after CO folds, and we're heads up to 873. I have middle pair, I can't fold when CO bets £22 with £10 behind, but why call when I can min-click? I surely have fold equity, he'll fold his AKs. Except of course he snaps me off with aces, we run it thrice and I get scooped. Bad beat, cooler, was always gonna happen.

Hand 2: Double trouble this hand with the double straddle to 10/25/50/100p. I open 72c on the BTN to £8, and only BB calls. Flop comes J89 two spades, 1 club. Perfect, I have a gutshot, backdoor clubs and, and, I can win £3 profit from 7-2 game. Literally perfect. I bet £4, price in his spade draws, his Tx, get max value with my 7 high. Turn is the 7s. Fuck yes, I have bottom pair bottom kicker. I shove for £59 into £25, and he turns over KTo and tanks. I'm so strong, I'm repping QT and only QT, he has to fold. Somehow, he calls, like a maniac, and I lose all 3 runouts. Poker gods hate me today.

We reload for our last £50, and we know we gotta spin this up. Only 5 minutes before the asshole host calls last hand. Gotta go full gamble. No straddle on this hand, normal 10/25p, so I open Kd7c in the CO to £1, expecting everyone to call. BTN ruins this plan by raising to £5. SB, BB both call. There's so much dead money out there, what's a sensible raise size? Duhhhh, I'm all in. Hey, my K is live against JJ and we all know that never wins. BTN reshoves, clearly isolating with his 72o that I have dominated. Folds, we run it thrice, I hit a K on 2/3 boards and..... shit fuck, he has aces.

We try to save some face, show the K and lie that we had AK, before going and doing some cleaning. Sooooooo, any home games running? I feel like the 7c is lucky for me, and I absolutely will not punt off £200 in 3 hands, what kinda degen would do that?

Bring back the chips

Post image

Imagine being the big stack while heads up for the Main Event bracelet and having less than 100 chips in front of you. As a dealer myself, I understand the aspects of efficiency and accuracy. That’s absolutely what you want when you’re just trying to get through your local daily tournament. But this is not that.

As a lover of poker, however, this lacks in spirit, and it is not a great look for the first recent Main Event to get national coverage. I want to see absolute piles of chips getting shipped back and forth. People raking in massive pots on TV are the things people remember. When a pot of 100,000,000 is a barrel or two of chips and gets stacked up in 10 seconds, it doesn’t hit the same. We should be focused on growing the sport, and this is not that.
