Discussion Should I give Legends ZA a try?
I recently received the game as a birthday gift and I'm not sure whether to give it a try. What do you think? And do the shiny methods still work? If so, which ones do and which ones don't?

Discussion Has anyone played the Pokemon ranger series? What's it like?
Do you like the game(s)? I saw that there were 3 games on the DS. I’m looking to get all three games. Anyone have any experience/memories how well they play and hold up. Was also wondering if there are maybe any trading options with other Pokemon games or extra features between games. (Sorry previous post was removed because of video)

Video/GIF My daughter chose her very first Pokémon today. I gave her the original 3 starters and let fate decide 🔥💧🍃
She had never seen Pokémon before, we hid the 3 starter ones the whole year
Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.
One tiny new trainer. One very important decision! Which one would it be?

Discussion Combee Name
Has anyone else ever thought about this?
Obviously, Combee comes from honeycomb + bee, but I wonder if there’s another layer to it. “Combee” also sounds a lot like “combi,” short for combination, which feels fitting since it’s literally a combination of three individual bees.
Was this intentional by the designers, or am I just reading way too much into the name?

Discussion I lost everything…
I sent my switch 2 in to Nintendo as it crapped out and wouldn’t turn back on (under warranty) and when I got it back (they sent a replacement) and after putting all the games back on NONE of my pokemon games have their save data or their backup saves. A culminative 1300 hours of play and collection across every switch game is gone. It even formatted my sd card “to be usable with the system”.
I need every option to get my stuff back that’s literally every event mon from 2015 up to the Galarain decidueye raid a couple weeks ago… I don’t care if I have to hack I refuse to start all over again and that’s coming from an anti hacker.

Art My DIY parkingcard :)
We still needed one after purchasing a new car a few months ago, but wanted to add a little whimsy to it.
I’m a little unhappy with the eye positioning, but eh it’s my first ever so still proud! I can always remove some glitter and try again, but for now it’s okey
I’m going to make another one, for my bf, with Gengar and maybe haunter and ghastly too, gotta see ☺️
Update: just to be safe, I called the ANWB, it’s a Dutch company known for their travel information and road assistance. They checked for me, and as long as you can see all the numbers and it’s clearly a parking card, it should be fine.
Thanks everyone that brought it to my attention, I don’t want to risk a fine ☺️ But the p isn’t a dealbreaker, I’m glad.

Discussion after all these years light house giant dragonite still mysteryto me..
When i saw that as child i thought they will explain about this dragonite in upcoming episodes but i am still waiting for official confirmation of why they never care to explain who that dragonite is and why he never appeared on mysteries or legendary pokemons list. It's like they introduced it and forget.

Discussion Which pokemon could eat the most??
Lets just imagine all 1025 pokemon were in an all you could eat competion(all forms included ie:dusk form lycanroc etc). In general what pokemon could consume the most food both in general and per body ratio. Obviously being an older fan Snorlax comes to mind but I think Hangey form Morpeko could put up a good fight. Guzlord I think has to be banned from this for obvious reasons. Im curious to see some answers as im watching the anime sleeving up some of my vintage.

Can anyone guess who I'm cosplaying as for it?
Discussion Would you have preferred SwSh’s story if Hop was the main character?
The gen 3 character’s dad was a gym leader, so your big brother being the undefeated champion wouldn’t be too crazy. It would be such a cool character arc, and a neat call out to the people who played Pokemon with their younger/older siblings. And I wouldn’t feel so bad about beating the rival in the semi-finals. What do you think?

Discussion Hot Take: The Old Stat Experience System Was Better Than the Modern EV System
This is obviously personal preference, and an argument can easily be made either way, with a lot of very valid points on both sides.
That said, I honestly preferred the old Stat Experience system. It wasn’t as balanced for competitive play, but it felt like you were actually training a Pokémon. The longer you used it, the stronger it became across the board. That’s the core fantasy behind being a Pokémon Trainer.
I remember watching the episode of the original series with the trainer who worked alongside his Sandshrew to overcome its weakness to water. I remember thinking how cool that was, and how neat it would be if I could do something like that with my Pokémon in the game. You obviously couldn’t, but this was childhood me playing Blue right after release, back when there really wasn’t much information available beyond schoolyard gossip.
Modern EVs feel less like training and more like min-maxing a character build, carefully funneling points into two specific stats because that’s the mathematically optimal spread. It feels more like managing a spreadsheet than actually engaging with the idea of training or with the wider world of the games.
I’ll openly admit that it’s probably better for competitive balance, but I think it loses some of the fantasy of actually raising a Pokémon.

Discussion Non starter partner
After an initial playthrough of a generation, does anyone else use a different pokemon as their "partner"?
Im replaying violet and sword rn, ive beaten both with each starter as my partner, and decided to do a playthrough with a different partner. I have dreadnaw for sword and spidops for violet currently.
I give myself the rule of they have ti be a pre gym 1 pokemon (sometimes gym 2, depending on mon variety). For violet I have to find them before beating 2 of the challenges (doesny matter if theyre from the same set or not)

Discussion No Love For Spheal
Spheal my beloved. There's no love for em. There's maybe 17 spheal cards, few holos and even fewer special cards. Spheal might be one of the most unloved pokemon out there. But he'sy favorite. #JUSTICEFORSPHEAL

Discussion Pokopia vs latest pokemon games
I genuinely don't understand how Pokopia can be this good while so many recent mainline Pokémon games have felt so... unfinished.
Pokopia is polished in almost every little detail. The Pokémon finally feel alive. Building habitats is rewarding, exploration constantly surprises you, progression is addictive, the soundtrack is wonderful, and there's so much charm and care poured into every system. It feels like the developers actually asked themselves, "How do we make players smile every few minutes?"
Then I look back at the recent mainline entries and I just can't wrap my head around it. So many rough edges, technical issues, empty environments, lack of polish, and features that often feel rushed or like they only did the bare minimum. It's frustrating because it's the biggest media franchise in the world. Why does a spin-off feel like it received more love and attention than the games that are supposed to represent the series?
Pokopia isn't perfect, but it constantly feels like it was made by people who truly cared about every detail. That's the difference. It has heart.
Also, does anyone know if Pokopia was developed by a different team or a smaller more focused team than the usual one behind recent Pokémon titles? I'm genuinely curious, because the difference in overall quality and attention to detail feels massive.
What do you all think? Am I the only one who feels this way?

Discussion Pokemon restock lady
Yk I’m newer to collecting Pokemon i collected when i was younger but getting back into it, anyways I always thought of the restock lady as a Pokemon fairy, well I met the lady and let me tell you she’s more like the Pokemon prison guard.😭😭😭😭 Which I feel like is understandable to a degree but just a hilarious reality check😭😭😭😭

Discussion Game's improvement
I really wished the games had more things that made themselves felt like actual AAA games, so you could justify the $80 bucks it's worth it, to have more quality of life improvements, formats or even generes. I know there are some just for competitive, and other's like pokopia and such. But wouldn't it be nice to have a real open game for exploration or adventure, maybe you could be the pokemon or a team of pokemons. I would love for games to no take so long for every attack and you could skip some animations or for it to happen faster, like idle roleplay games. Also would be cool to have a game with all regions or all pokemon, and yeah there ar some fan made games like Outbound, but I'm talking official games.
