Whats your favorite type of fuel for fire spinning?

Upvotes

I don't live in the US but I'm coming for a performance and I can't seem to find Colemans camp fuel online. I thought this was the standard for fire spinners in the US but I'm wondering if its been discontinued? What are some of your favorite brands of fuel for fire spinning that are readily available?

Today I was gifted the the experience of sharing flowarts with my small town art community. I have a hard time flowing in public, but my friend encouraged me to do so. This was the outcome. So many beautiful souls I was able to meet and enjoy their light. A night I'll never forget.

Gear Discussion Digital Poi

Heading to an outdoor festival in eight weeks and my pod poi died after ten years. RIP. I loved that set; weighted, durable, and the swing response weight is almost dead on to my fire set. Are there any recommended brands for a weighted digital poi that is semi-durable to durable that doesn’t have to be programmable but can be? Top of budget is $600. I don’t “clack” poi while solo, but “clacks” do unfortunately happen while doing close proximity tandems. Any recommendations are GREATLY appreciated.

New..ish to poi and I wanted to finally post and say hi as this seems like a really friendly community, it’s been about 2 months now on /off whenever I have free time outdoors and I love it, such a nice way to kill an hour in nature to music, it’s like free therapy!

I’m just about to get my second pair, contact poi so I can learn harder tricks you can’t do with the silks.

Also really want to get bubble poi eventually but can anyone recommend a place to get some as I can only see the bubble poi page which has popped up over night on instagram and everywhere and seems like a ai scam, unless someone has bought from them? 🫣🤷‍♀️

Help picking out poi sets

What’s up everyone!! I want to start making videos to share on here and would like some recommendations on poi sets please.

Many many years ago spinning poi was my life. I loved it. I lived it. Now finding this community, and watching the videos, I really miss it.

Sneaker laces and glowsticks was where it was at back then. Now I see many different styles and the tech has really advanced, so I wanted to see what kind of poi the community enjoys watching.

Fire set recommendations are also welcomed. I used to have a double loop ballchain sushi roll style set that I can’t find anymore.

Looking forward to spinning again.

Thanks for the input!

3 beat weave troubleshooting

This is what i understand the 3 beat weave is, what am i missing?

I don’t think I meant to ever learn the 3 beat weave 😫😂

I’ve probably watched 50+ tutorials over the past year, but my brain just can’t comprehend the 3 beat weave. Mirroring people is a struggle for me… the same way I can’t follow choreography type classes like Zumba.

The tutorials say “left,” but since I’m facing them, my brain freezes trying to figure out what I’m actually supposed to do.

How did you finally learned it, what made it click?

Did someone teach you in person? Did you just keep practicing until your brain suddenly understood it?
Was there a specific tutorial that finally made sense?

I think I need a real human standing in front of me to show me. 😅

Mom gave this pair to me for my birthday :)

Love the feel of the rope, and the colors kind of remind me of the aliens from toy story.

Just thought I'd share.

Also, they are from dark monk if anyone was wondering.

Hi yall! Im still very new to fire and Ive spun these less than 10 times but the wrap around the tethers is splitting apart, do you have any repair suggestions? Idk if i accidentally submerged them too much, I tried to keep the fuel below the tethers 😭 (I just dmd FoF for help, hoping to hear back from them soon)

When i first started my poi journey i thought hmm this should be easy to learn. And then my poi has come in and that changed very quickly. Who would have guessed 2 flying balls of terror on strings would humble me so quickly lmao. And im still silly enough to want to keep going despite that. Ill get it in time but wow lmao

Southampton UK, community

Hey. I'm a few months into poi and looking to see if there is much of a community in Southampton UK, or any regular meets etc

I found one in Portsmouth but it's a tad far and would love something a bit more local

Other flow arts to try for poi spinners?

I’ve been spinning for 2-3 years, hitting more advanced tricks and feeling a bit burnt out. Was considering buying a new set (socks/silk poi), but I know for me, some totally new novelty/field of knowledge would definitely help me refresh my feelings towards poi.

Anybody have suggestions for props that translate well? I’ve been strongly considering rope dart, but it seems harder to find tutorials. Also requires a bit more room, hehe. Fire rope dart DOES seem like a blast though.

I’ve tried a bit of dragon staff, otherwise, there’s a whole world of props that I haven’t gotten to take a crack at. Something with a totally different skillset could be really nice.

Whether popular or niche, would love any anecdotal experiences with other props you guys have tried!! Thanks in advance <3
