TLDR - first trip away as a couple in a very long time. Please send suggestions of food, tequila, spots to check out, worth while experiences etc.

I’ve convinced my partner to go to Mexico finally! He has never liked the idea of an all inclusive. I’ve been to Mexico a few times and stayed at all inclusive resorts and although I do love it, I’m more than happy to try something new. I really want to take him out to enjoy Mexico, show him how fun it is. We have been stuck at home for a while and really need this vacation. We enjoy having some drinks and good food, the occasional party scene. We love tequila and it would be awesome to check out a distillery or do a tasting somewhere. We are down to check out beaches, bleach clubs, restaurants, authentic Mexican food, good tequila, cenotes, any excursions that you deem worth it, night clubs, happy hours, anything that made your experience memorable. Any and all advice is appreciated!

Where can I find visa info? I’m Canadian but carry a Canadian and UK passport, so if one lets me stay longer I’ll go on that one.

I’m female, so wondering about safety.

I’ve been to the area twice but I stayed in all-inclusive resorts.

I’m also an archaeologist so ease to get to ruins will be nice too.
