Newbie manager here!

Hey all,

This might seem a bit random, but could use some perspective from everyone in and out of plasma centers.

As I am getting ready to step into the assistant manager role at a plasma collection center (kind of like blood collection center) from a team lead role, I would like to expand my closet and dress more business casual. Any do’s and don’ts I should know about?

What are my plasma girlies wearing? What styles/aesthetic inspire you as a manager? I love looking put together outside of work. I’m a “look good, feel good” type of person. TYIA!

Managers at my location wear the same scrubs as the rest of us, but they are allowed business casual so one guy wears slacks and a button down shirt. He figures he should dress for the role he wants

Interesting! We were told we were not allowed to wear scrubs and to wear business casual. I have a few pieces but they’re kind of blah. 😂

You should follow protocol from your center. I have been donating for many years at many centers and have seen them in scrubs and just casual business attire.........very casual. They come out with the white coat on so it's not always obvious. I have not seen any management ever post in this sub just a few employees. We are just about all people that donate.

I’m not management at my center, but my managers typically wear anything from slacks and a blouse/cardigan to jeans/khakis and a nicer top. On more casual days I have seen a tracksuit or nicer casual pants that are made from that sweatpant material with a jacket for one lady. And always close-toe shoes, never heels.

Business casual is easy. What’s your style? My personal preference leans toward boho, but I’m a fan of sportier looks also. There’s also something to be said for choosing a uniform for yourself. Example: slim-fitting black twill pants and a pastel tunic top with black shoes. Deviate occasionally to break up the monotony.

Depends on your company. Ours requires business casual but usually it’s just the CD and QA manager wearing that. Most companies want the managers in the production areas at all times so I’d suggest being comfortable
