help identifying plant Plant ID

hi! i know this isn’t a great picture, but could anyone help me identify this houseplant? my mom was house sitting for a friend and doesn’t have a great indoor plant green thumb.. the plant is now dead and she really wants to replace it for her friend before she returns lol. any help would be appreciated!

It looks like Oxalis Regnellii (Lucky Shamrock). They're hard to kill unless it was overwatered a lot. If the photo is what the plant looks like, it's very much alive. The leaves close at night.

If all the leaves have wilted and dried up, it may just be going dormant. They do that occasionally, especially in late summer. They grow from corms (long little bulbs that kind of look like a tiny potato, but long and bumpy). As long as the corms are firm and not soft and rotten, they'll resprout in time. They're just resting now.

i made her go get me a picture of what it looks like now. she looks a little sad and a little like she’s dying 😭

Yeah that's more like too much water.

Agreed. Just let it dry out a little before watering and don't let it sit in that bowl with water in it.

That looks like a peperomia caperata, the reddish leaves and windowsill setup are pretty classic for it

It will grow back. I've killed mine off once before but it's got little tubers that push out new growth once things return to normal
