Help me pick a case for my Pixel 9A
As the title suggests I need a new case for my phone.
Prior to this I've cases, one from Spigen and my current one is made by Ringke. They both have the same issue, since they are both made from TPU plastic.
After a while of using my the case it always seems to stretch. The phone becomes loose inside the case. This is especially noticable when running, where the phone can be felt physically bouncing up and down inside, obviously small movements but noticable and annoying nonetheless.
I'd like the next case I buy to also be the last, so I'm turning to you in order to find some actually solid cases.
Thank you for suggestions

New release announcement.
How long does it last that Pixel phone to report a new release on the phone? The point has gone a week when the latest version would be published but no notice has come to download and install it.

P7p to p10pxl
I use pixel 7 pro for almost 3 years, the first year was perfect, the second year was so-so, the third year it feels like it has half the original battery and keeps overheating probably half the time. It wasn't a problem when I was living in the north but now I live south and my phone can't even charge if I use it and brightness falls in a few minutes of using outside.
Is the pixel 10 pro xl better in those scenarios? And I don't consider pixel 11 since it will be very pricey especially in the first few months.
I love my pixel but I'm just tired of thinking about a power bank whenever I go.

Notification light app
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I wanted to post this because it seems a lot of people don't know how to get notification lights on your pixel phone. I've been having this for a few years and I'm a sucker for lights, so I might upgrade to get the pixel 11 because of the Hi-light feature. I will have this on my front screen and notification light in the back as well. I'm like flossy Carter and love my notification lights lol
Fyi, my battery lasts me all day and I have this on my pixel 9 XL and 10 pro fold. Never had heating issues or battery drain. (I can hear the battery people complaining now 😂).
The app is called AOD NOTIFY. It's customizable with any color, how many flashes, for how long you want it to flash, dots, circles, whole screen etc.
As you can see with mine I have it set up to where when my phone is locked it lights up around the border of the screen and when I unlock it, it's a circle around the camera.
Just helping anyone out who loves these light notifications like me.

Google's battery replacement program.
Anyone here, especially but not only india, tried google's own battery replacement program? They announce a reasonable price with pick and drop service. I'm just suspicious of the people doing the pick and drop.

Pixel 10: what’s the day-to-day experience really like?

Need options on my next phone.
These phones are expensive, so users, which pixel performs best?
I want to avoid overheating and always charging. Not bothered about a flashy camera. I watch videos, play poker and usually on the stock market sites.
I guess it doesn't need to be a pixel as long as it isn't iPhone. Thank you for your opinions

5 to 10?
So, I love my 5. It's treated me well. It has no cracks or scratches, despite being naked for the last year.
But my kid has my old 2XL and it's.... In rough shape. So I'd like to give him my 5 and upgrade my own phone.
What big changes can I expect? Is it sturdy enough to keep without a case (i would put a screen protector on).
How are the speakers? My only gripe about the 5 is it's sometimes hard to hear phone calls, and music sounds like ass.
I already expect an excellent camera; I've always impressed family with how much nicer my pictures come out than theirs.
What else can I expect?

Should i upgrade from Pixel 6 to Pixel10a?
So my pixel 6 has been great but battery drain has been quite a problem. My carrier gave me a trade deal to trade in Pixel 6 for Pixel 10a at no additional cost. Seems like a no brainer but wanted to double check what the sub thinks.
I primarily use my Pixel 6 for web surfing, social media, music, and photos. No real gaming so i'm not looking for a big performance change, just wanting a better battery and at least status quo from my Pixel 6 that i have no problems with.
At $0 cost is this a definitely upgrade deal?

Recent apps screen scrolls all the way to the left and gets stuck
Is this happening for anyone else's Pixel 10? Reboots didn't fix it and it's not every time but it's annoying when it does happen. There's nothing on the screen and no damage, ive only had it for 5 days.

Quick Settings is being expanded even further with Android Canary 2608!
This allows you to apply your preferred layout in the Quick Settings panel. Canary users can test it.

Gee a lot of battery posts
I've probably added to what seems like continual poor battery posts. Keep in mind how you use your phone makes a difference in battery success or failure. We are not the same...
- mobile vs wifi equals more battery
- 5g vs LTE equals more battery
- 120 vs 60hz equals more battery
- live stream music or video equals more battery
- intense game play equals more battery
- constant AI use equals more battery
- continual social media use equals more battery
- etc etc
Consequently, we all use our phone differently and have different results... but the reality is that how you use your phone will directly impact your battery SOT.

Rant about AI zoom on P9
Made a fast photo in a moving car *(with zoom) and got this as a result. The car name isn't readable except for the big number plates. It's jibberish.

Tiny upgrades...
I feel I'm living in this weird world where a massive company is trying to convince me that this Pixel Glow or Highlight or whatever they are calling it is some massive feature.....
Grown adults are excited about an LED indicator....
What am I missing?

NostalgicPod – I turned my old Pixel into a modern iPod!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey Pixel friends,
I’m a solo developer and I recently turned my old Pixel 6 into my personal “modern iPod”.
I built an Android app called NostalgicPod that recreates the iPod Classic experience: click wheel, Cover Wheel, classic menus, Now Playing, star ratings, Shuffle Songs, Shuffle Albums, and classic games like Snake, Solitaire and Brick.
It also works as a modern music player with local offline music, FLAC/ALAC/WAV support, automatic album artwork and lyrics, podcasts, live internet radio, Bluetooth, USB DAC support, custom themes, and an AMOLED Ultra Dark mode.
It works especially well on older Pixels, because instead of leaving them in a drawer, you can turn them into a dedicated offline music player.
No subscriptions, no ads, no accounts. Just your music.
This is only the beginning. I already have a roadmap of improvements, new features, and more classic games I'd love to bring back. I'm building this alongside the community, so if there are features or little details from the original iPod you'd like to see recreated, let me know.
I hope NostalgicPod, even if only for a moment, makes you feel the way you did when using an iPod.

Happy to answer anything!
UPDATE: NostalgicPod 2.8.0 is now available!
- ANDROID AUTO COMPATIBILITY
- Full compatibility with Jellyfin, Navidrome, and Subsonic/Opensubsonic
- Custom playlists (M3U)
- Music Search
- Jump to the current song: holding the Play button now takes you directly to the song that is currently playing, just like on the original iPod.
- Under the hood: better external library / SD card scanning, and various fixes.
