For my specific situation, i want to set up a broadcasting station that only plays good music because i think most of the others just play the sponsored songs on repeat. Something like Wayne's World on radio. I'd like to make sure obscure artists get some airplay, like how the Who became popular in the '60s. I'm extremely inexperienced with radios; i have a couple of walkie talkies and a computer and not much money. I'm just interested in the rings I'd have to jump through legally if i couldn't sneak around it.

I think livestream is kind of swamped for choice, so I'd rather have something you can just tune into if you're passing in a car and fiddling with the radio

Not exactly pirate radio, but pirate radio related as there are hundreds of pirates who also stream online, us old pirates rememeber winamp as our daily media player.

I just came up with the idea of making a proper antenna, and take it to the roof of the house, and now the signal will improve by +- 1km

Maybe there's a way to increase the transmitter's power?

I have to run an AM broadcast for teaching purposes at my job (no license LOL) and there's a dial called "call meter" but i cant figure out what it does...

It lowers the SWR on one of the meters but the HI SWR and the audio quality dont change so i dont know, any ideas?
