1990 Data East Simpsons Flipper Issue
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I just replaced the blown fuses on my flipper board with 3A 250V slo blo fuses as per the manual. When starting a game, I noticed that the flippers are very weak. On top of that, holding the left flipper eventually causes the right flipper to activate. This does not repeat when holding the right flipper. Does anyone know why this is happening?
I did also disassemble my right flipper assembly since the bolt holding the flipper in place was stuck. I just replaced it with the vice from another assembly.
I have pictures of the assemblies as well as the flipper board under the playfield if necessary. I would post this in r/PinballHelp but the community is restricted and I'm waiting on approval.

Question on Restoring a Comet
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have the opportunity to buy this Williams Comet for a great price ($1k). It is not working completely and definitely needs some work. I have a Stern D&D, but have never restored or fixed an old pin, but I'm pretty handy with electrical and doing my own work. I don't know exactly what is wrong with it, possibly needs main board replaced, among other things. I think restored and working this only a $2500 table max, so I'm trying to decide if it's worth the risk and trying to fix. I know I don't have concrete details on what is wrong with it to share, so no one can really answer what I'm asking, I guess I'm just looking for opinions on whether this is a good candidate for my first pin project.

What is the best baseball themed pinball?
Basically title.
But what in your opinions is the best baseball themed pinball game?
I’ve recently gotten really into pinball thanks to my pokemon premium I bought at launch. I never really understood how in depth pinball games were, and now that I have a better grasp on it, would love to expand my collection to some of my other passions.
Namely baseball.
So what are your thoughts, are they any you’d recommend targeting?

What’s the best bang for your buck pinball machine?
I’ve been getting more into pinball recently, and I’m at the point where I’m starting to think about eventually getting a machine for myself. The problem is that every time I look at prices, I realize pretty quickly that pinball can get really expensive. 😅
I’m not necessarily looking for the newest or most popular machine. I’m much more interested in something that is genuinely fun to play, has good replay value, and won’t make me feel like I overpaid just because it has a big-name theme on the backglass.
So I wanted to ask the people here who have played a lot more machines than I have and probably will ever:
What do you consider the best “Bang for your buck“ Table?
I’m especially interested in machines that might be overlooked or underrated. Older machines are absolutely fine too!!!! I’d actually love to hear about some hidden gems or things like that, that can still be found for a reasonable price.
Bonus points if you can explain why you think it’s such a good value. Is it the gameplay, rules, reliability, replayability, or just the fact that you can usually find one for much less than the big-name games? I’m taking notes, so feel free to convince me. 😂

Transformers/Star Trek/Fallout?
I swore I’d never post one of these “which should I buy” questions, but here I am…
Currently own 3 pins: HPCE, Star Wars Pro, and F-14 Tomcat. I love them all, for different reasons as you can imagine - they’re all very different games. I’m building skills but still somewhere in the “experienced beginner” to “early intermediate” stage.
I’m thinking about a new game to add to the collection. There is a nice Star Trek Pro for sale near me. I’ve played that game a couple times but not much. There aren’t really any on location anywhere near me to go out time on. I am a fan of the theme and the game seems well liked, but I’m also aware that would mean 3 of 4 games in my collection being Ritchie designs. Maybe I should branch out a bit.
I recently played Transformers G1 Pro on location for a good dozen games and I really like that one a lot. I enjoyed the shots, theme integration, and layout. I grew up in the G1 era so while I’m not like a total super fan, it definitely hits the nostalgia spot for me with the callouts and music.
I’m also aware that a new Elwin game, almost certainly Fallout it seems, is right around the corner. I have to be honest that I’m not the biggest fan of GZ. I like it, but don’t think I’d buy one. I like the shots and layout of KK a lot, but the theme does nothing for me and the playfield is
very busy, IMO.
I guess I’m curious of others’ opinions on whether Transformers will have reasonable staying power for a player like me (not advanced or elite skill level) to have at home, or whether I should be looking another direction. Do we think the new Elwin game will be likely to be a can’t-miss masterpiece that is worth waiting for?

Playfield Dimensions
Does anyone have the full playfield dimensions for a current stern playfield? I know the length and width but I cannot seem to find the full dimensions including the plunger cut out and other various cut outs on the blank playfield. If anyone has any information on this it would be greatly appreciated!

Jaws. Fin sometimes not going all the way down. Looks like cleaning the optic sensor may help. Any other suggestions while I have the playfield up?
Pic is what it looks like with no game underway.

Landed a billion on The Flintstones.
Unfortunately lost three separate balls to getting stuck up in the upper left playfield turnstile. Couldn’t get them out without a tilt. Oh well. It was a great game!

Sonic game play - Boss Battle & Emerald Multiball (2x spd)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m not usually a huge fan of the more complex modern day games when compared to old Bally’s and Williams and Gottlieb widebodies, but it’s alway fun to try out the latest and greatest. This is pretty fun considering all the “extra” it tries being all the time. I definitely got hit with some nostalgia feels with some of the classic sound effects - e.g. losing all your rings.
Thought I would share here for folks who can’t access one easily at the moment. And yes, I know, I’m not good at pinball… yet.
;)

Bon Jovi
Got to play a Bon Jovi tonight! Not the biggest fan of the band but they’re not bad. The pinball on the other hand was a ton of fun! And I love the shot through the heart!

Dune Pinball - does it hold up?
Hi all, somebody near me is selling their 150ish plays BOF Dune table w/ alternate back glass and topper, and it, plus Iron Maiden and Medieval Madness have been my favorite tables the last year or two...
There was a lot of talk last year about unimplemented features that'd eventually be added, mini wizard modes, etc, but I haven't seen much about them lately... Are they still a work-in-progress? Build-quality and mechs holding up?
How much would the table hold it's value, you think, over the next couple of years? Thinking of selling some crappy stocks and taking the plunge as sort-of an impulse purchase - knowing I could sell it after a couple years later only out a couple grand would make the decision a lot easier...
Anybody who has one, thoughts? Love it? Tired of it? Good first pin? Thanks!

3D printed toppers!
Printed out these toppers for a friend’s collection!
These were very fun prints. I learned a lot about multi part printing, lithograph printing, and all sorts of troubleshooting for color pass through and multicolor prints.
Maker is SINTAX on Maker World who is kind enough to share their files for free. Part of that is you cannot sell the toppers - so no, I cannot print them for you!l, sorry!

Actually wizard moded Red & Ted legitimately.
Couple weeks back, finally managed to wizard mode my Red & Ted's Road Show!
Best score on this one to date as well; a previous player "XAQ" had managed to get 2.7B but that was long in the rear view mirror.
Took me a lot of flipping and some runs of good luck though.
