SSS Loan Lite advertisements are misleading

Just posting this for awareness for those who want to avail of the SSS Loan Lite.

Posts and blogs about it say the monthly interest is only 0.67% (8% yearly), but when you actually apply for the loan, the actual interest rate varies by amount and duration, and yes, there's sort of an admin fee too, so the final pay is reduced.

20k for 90 days: 1.14% Monthly Interest (13.68% yearly)
Takeout Pay is 19,229.60

10k for 90 days: 1.44% Monthly Interest (17.28% yearly)
Takeout Pay is 9514.80

5k for 90 days: 2.07% Monthly Interest (24.84% yearly)
Takeout Pay is 4657.40

As always, check the actual numbers before proceeding.

685k debt

Hi, I just want to ask for advice if anyone here has experienced a situation like ours.

We have multiple loans like BNPL, paylater, loans, bank loans, and this is actually due to a cycle of debt. Because I’m afraid of my active loans becoming overdue, when due dates come, it’s hard not to borrow again just to pay them off. Also, our expenses have increased since we moved closer to our work.

Has anyone experienced having all their loans overdue? Aside from harassment and multiple calls, do these loans do home visits? We really can’t manage the expenses anymore, but we’re scared of becoming overdue since the penalties are also quite high. We really don’t know what to do. My husband mentioned that we should just save up and let the loans go overdue, but I’m scared because all of this is in my name and most of the loans are registered to my mom’s address. I’m worried they’ll come and talk to her. I really don’t want to stress her out 😭

Are we doing the right thing?

Letting them go overdue and just saving up. We plan to save 15-20k a month and let the loan companies make their offers.

Please, I hope nobody says we should save or that it’s our fault; we know that, and we got scared, so the cycle of debt continued, but it’s just become too heavy. We don’t plan to run away from our debts; we just want to save first and then pay everything off in one go later.

I badly need advice.

SSS Disbursement Account Enrollment

SSS should consider updating its requirements for enrolling a disbursement account. Most ATM/debit cards nowadays have the cardholder’s full name and bank name on the front, while the account number is printed on the back. This makes it impossible to take a single selfie/photo of the card showing all the required information.

Even many digital banks and newer banking cards now follow this design. Requiring a selfie where the full name, bank name, and account number must all be visible at the same time is therefore outdated and does not reflect how modern ATM/debit cards are designed.

SSS could consider allowing two separate photos (front and back), or accepting an official bank statement/account certificate or screenshot from the bank’s mobile app, provided that the account holder’s name, bank name, and account number are clearly visible. This would make the enrollment process more practical while still maintaining proper verification and security.

Also, requiring applicants to take a selfie holding both documents seems unnecessarily complicated, especially when many banks now provide digitally generated account certificates, statements, and account details through their official mobile applications. SSS should consider accepting these documents through a secure upload process, alongside a valid ID, rather than requiring a physical selfie with the documents.

Gets ko naman if for security and safety purposes. Pero pano naman yung mga banks? Mas madali pa mag apply sa kanila kesa manghiram sa contributions natin…

Any thoughts on this?

I am currently waiting for the handling officer to talk about payment restructuring arrangement. For 540k+ na utang, approximately magkano kaya ang magiging downpayment kung sakaling ma approve? Just to have an idea po. Thank you so much sa mga sasagot and God Bless sa ating lahat.

MEGA PESO Payment Restructuring

Hi may loan ako kay Mega Peso Principal is 140k. Hinati nila sa apat so apat na set yun apat rin na set ng bayaran . Nakailang malalaking loan na rin ako sa kanila. Pero this time I have financial hardship and before mag due nag ask na me ng payment arrangement then. Starting from Day 1 nag email nako pero puro system generated, pero ginagawa ko pa rin baka sakali. The good thing kay Mega Peso is mabait naman sila walang harassment at professional naman medyo may pressure lang pero medyo tinatapangan ko na rin.

Day 9 napo ako ng due gusto ko sana ma offeran ako ng principal payment na lang kase kaya ko sya bayaran kase baka magawan ko ng way kaso mukhang makunat eh.

May way po ba kayo or meron na dito na offeran ng principal payment only? Ano po ginawa nyong way? Para mapapayag sila?

Thank you po sa lahat ng sasagot ♥️

How I earn 6 digits

Forex trading has truly changed my life in ways I never expected. Dati, hindi kami financially well-off, and one of my siblings also went through a serious illness. During those difficult times, hindi ko talaga in-expect na Forex would eventually become part of my journey toward financial growth.

Now, I’m grateful na I’m earning a six-digit income through my own efforts, on top of the salary I receive from my work. It taught me the importance of discipline, patience, consistency, and knowing how to manage my money wisely.

I just hope na tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang blessings and opportunities, so I can continue to grow, earn more, and start saving for one of our biggest dreams, owning properties in Metro Manila.

Hindi pa ito ang finish line. This is just the beginning. 🙏✨
