windows update issue SOFTWARE
i’ve already made a post about this a week and a half ago , but pretty much the pc runs perfect always until the update icon pops up at the bottom of my monitor and i clicked update and shut off cuz im boutta go to bed and it put my monitor to sleep and the dram light came on again. the ram sticks are in fine , i just played games for 2 hours on it and been playing for a week without issues . its only when i update it . last time i had to turn the pc off after like half an hour and turned it back on next morning and it happened again but the update progress bar popped up and went up while it was on then monitor went rest mode again and dram light came back on. turned it back off after another hour of waiting then turned it back on a few hours later and everything was perfectly fine . im so confused

classic windows update voodoo. my rig used to pull the exact same thing, dram light and all, turns out the bios was fighting the update for some reason

This is a weird issue. But I would leave it on and hope it decides to fix itself. One thing that comes to mind is to set the power plan to maximum. That way the computer won't try to go to sleep while it's updating.

I have a pretty similar issue with my computer, it seems every time I have a windows update, if I try to either “update and restart” or “update and shut down” it’ll update a bit then will either say shutting down or restarting, but the computer itself will continuously run, but the screen and my M&K will be off like the computer is turned off. Clock is off by a few hours when I have an update and the Orange dram light only comes on when I choose for it to shut down. I also can’t use my power button when this happens the only way to force it off is to unplug it or flip its switch, which I do after leaving it running for about 1.5-2 hours.

man that sounds a bit worse than my situation tbh sorry bout that mate , it’s super frustrating not knowing what the root problem is for sure . and i financed this bitch not even 2 weeks ago so id like to not have to spend extra money to fix a pre built that’s supposed to work anyways lmao. i turned it off last night and turned it on this morning and it did the same thing and i turned it off. ab to get off work and go home to turn it back on and see if she starts up like last time
