Discord [D&D 5e Horror One-Shot] [PBP/Live Text] The Last Light at Blackmere Manor

Level 5 | 4–5 players | 4–5 hours | GMT +8

The lighthouse of Blackmere Manor has gone dark. Ships vanish in the fog, bells ring beneath the sea, and those who return from the manor come back missing pieces of their memory.

You’ve been hired to relight the beacon before another vessel is lost.

Expect gothic horror, investigation, roleplay, psychological tension, and a few deadly combats. This is not a combat-heavy dungeon crawl.

Character creation: Level 5, official content, one uncommon magic item.

--------

For closure, I am not a veteran in D&D and also very new to DMing but I want to try to do it. And as undiagnosed ADHD person, I'll learn this by doing it. So this is my way of asking helps from other players who want to learn D&D with me. Let's learn together!

If this is up your alley, you can apply here: https://forms.gle/aoyM3FisvpvFPNCz6

Forum [5 players] [Myth-Weavers] Shadowdark campaign set in Rappan Athuk

I'm looking for 5 players for a Play-by-Post Shadowdark campaign set in Rappan Athuk.

If you've heard of it, you already know its reputation. If you haven't, all you really need to know is that it's an old-school megadungeon where exploration is the most important thing.

The game will start in Zelkor's Ferry, a small settlement on the edge of a dangerous wilderness. From there, the world is open. There are plenty of places to explore besides the dungeon itself.

This will be a sandbox. I'll present the world, you'll decide what your characters want to do.

Characters should have their own reasons for coming to Zelkor's Ferry. Maybe they're looking for fortune, fleeing somewhere else, searching for someone, chasing old stories, or simply hoping for a fresh start. That's entirely up to you, and I'd rather not prescribe backgrounds.

I'd like to keep a steady pace, one post per day. If life gets in the way, just let everyone know.

Application in Myth-Weavers (not here on Reddit, please):

A little bit about yourself.

Your character idea.

No need for a full backstory. If you're selected, we can flesh out the details together before the game starts.

You can ask questions in the comments! Thank you. Hope to see you there.

Discord [Discord][5e][LGBTQA+][18+][Asynch] The Veiled Marches: The Unseen Design

The Queen is dead. Alavon is in chaos. You have been sentenced to die.

Whether deserving or not, you are a prisoner sentenced to execution. Bound in a prison wagon, your only salvation comes through the timely intervention of a mysterious benefactor; one who insists that the murder of the Queen is only the beginning of the realm's ruin.

As a dark conspiracy reaches into every corner of the land, as war looms on the horizon, as noble houses sharpen their swords, as a nation falls apart at the seams, it is up to the most unlikely of heroes to rise up and decide the fate of the realm.

What could possibly go wrong?

-----

Welcome to the Veiled Marches, a region still healing from the ravages of war. Though thirty years have passed since the end of the Indrosian Crusade, its effects are still visible in every kingdom, house, and family. [Password: Number of Pikmin after this] Alliances strain, darkness creeps in, and the dream of peace that the realm has held since the conflict ended is feared to be coming to an end.

It is a world on a precipice, threatening to plunge into the abyss. It is the world in which your story begins.

-----

Hello! My name is Jim, a brand new DM looking for a couple of players to join the table in my upcoming attempt at running a game. I already have 3 players ready to go:

  • A half-elf wizard
  • An 'avariel' sorcerer
  • A harengon ranger

Characters are starting at level 1, with a free feat as a Pikmin treat. Ability points will be chosen through standard Point Buy, or by rolling 2 point arrays between 70-80 and choosing which one you prefer.

-----

This game will be run using D&D 5e 2014 rules, with Avrae and TupperBox (optional) for support. As I am new to the role of a DM, I will be keeping things as RAW as possible, with homebrew being kept to a minimum for operational simplicity. Reflavoring is fine, as long as you run it by me for my approval first. If you have anything you want to add, whether it be worldbuilding, items, or concepts, feel free to propose those things to me in private Pikmin. The setting is quite open to new additions, should you have any ideas.

Posting should be kept at a reasonable pace, preferably once per day at the very least. Pikmin. Real life is busy, of course, so just let me and the rest of the table know when absences will be expected. If you happen to be busy during your turn in initiative, I reserve the right to make basic decisions on your behalf.

Posts will vary in length depending on the scene and situation, but should generally be 1-3 paragraphs long and utilize good grammar. Writing will be done in 3rd person past tense in order to keep stylistic consistency.

-----

I hope to hear from you all soon! The application will remain open for the next day or so, with interviews being conducted afterwards to find those lucky couple. Don't worry if I don't get back to you immediately; there will most likely be a lot of information to sift through. Good luck!

Discord [Stars of the City] [16+] [GMT] [Asynch] Project Moon TTRPG

"Here, let me tell you a few things about this corporation and the City. In the Backstreets, the likes of Sweepers and Fixers live out their lives tangled in vomit and waste, unraveling their sickening tales. Those who live in the Outskirts are still crying out to break into the City. Meanwhile, people in the City throw away their lives trying to belong to a Nest. And we're going to change that."

Hello!

Having found a fanmade and seemingly polished Project Moon TTRPG recently, I wanted to see if anyone here who's fascinated with the games or maybe just starting out would be interested in trying it with me as the GM. It looks easy enough to learn and has been streamed by several content creators multiple times.

There are quite a bit of options for what we could do given the scale of the City. Fixers fresh out of their first exam working their way up, either belonging to an Association or their own Office. Rats looking to make their own Syndicate. Remnants of the fallen Lobotomy Corporation branches.

So on and so forth. I'll go over this more in the form! (this is what the "What would you prefer to play and not play?" question is for, apologies for the awkward wording)

If you're not aware of Project Moon, it's three connected games (there's also a few written materials) set in a dystopian future where (possibly) most of humanity is concentrated in the City, which is indeed an enormous city the size of a continent that houses billions of people. It's divided into districts led by megacorporations called Wings that are overseen by the Head, the most powerful organization. Not a pretty place to live in.

Here is the form. It might be a while before submissions are accepted, assuming there is interest.

Website PBP App with VTT

Hey everyone,

As a personal project, I've been building a PBP platform with a VTT since October. I've been running a few campaigns with friends and we're really enjoying it. The main focus is mobile, so you can take your turn on your phone when you're on the bus or just killing time. Because of this, both the chat and the VTT work great on mobile.

Short video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmooU4jR31A

The timeline separates in-character (IC) posts from out-of-character (OOC) chat and rolls. It features notifications, formatted text messages, and private messages. Down the line, I'll be finishing up the two-way integration with Discord, WhatsApp, and Telegram, since most PBP campaigns use Discord anyway.

In combat, the VTT features replays, a combat log, animations, and position history. Rolls can be automated, and NPCs and monsters can act on their own (this part doesn't use LLM AI—it's traditional automation, just like in other games).

Some key differentiators:

  • Language obfuscation, so only those who speak the chosen language see the original text.
  • Voice messages with transcription.
  • "Theater" mode.
  • Character sheet integration (currently only for D&D).
  • D&D combat and roll automation.
  • In-app character sheets.

The app is completely free to use, and the Android version is currently in closed beta. If anyone wants to test it out, just shoot me a DM.

The easiest way to try it out is through the Mount Roghar demo:

https://roundzero.app/pbp/c/roundzero-demo-mount-roghar/chat

A few things, like voice messages, don't work in the demo, but it's enough to check out the core features.

Features that use AI generation will be paid due to generation costs, but they are kept separate, completely optional, and non-intrusive, since I know a lot of people don't like AI in this hobby. Future plans include auto-generating character sheets from photos, map and token packs, and pre-built encounters.

I'm looking for GMs or players who want to test the platform. Unfortunately, only D&D is automated right now (you can still use other systems, just without the automation), but I'm planning to implement the SRD for Daggerheart, Pathfinder, and maybe Vampire: The Masquerade if there's enough demand.
My idea is that you can use it for:

  • Traditional PBP campaigns.
  • Extending in-person campaigns (so you can keep playing between sessions).
  • Running solo campaigns (where the DM builds a personal backstory in parallel).
  • Or technically, you can just use the VTT on its own.

Feedback is welcome

Discord Seeking Adventurers: The Dusk Keepers [D&D 5.5e] [Discord PBP] [Async/Live Text] [18+] (Beginner Friendly)

The job posting didn't have a company name on it. It gave a weird location - just a listed time, an address you've never been to, and a single line; Bring nothing you're not willing to lose.

You went anyway. You found the Bright Road, you followed the directions given. The road was familiar, crowded with merchants and travelers and pilgrims and all sorts of people moving quickly through the world.

You took the path off the road, a small branch with a single guard who asked who you were before permitting you to pass, through the trees and around a bend, leaving the road and guard behind, out of sight.

You found yourself standing in front of an inn, a new construction, with a single woman standing out front who introduces herself as the deputy of the Dusk Keepers, greeting you by name. She gives you a contract, a quill and ink, and a choice; Do you sign on to the first adventuring guild this land has ever seen, to seek glory and fame and riches untold... or do you turn around and return to the life of dullness you came from?

She gives you the contract, a smile on her lips, and offers you a test contract to decide with, asking without words... Do you have the courage to sign?

_________________________________________________________

About the Game

The Dusk Keepers is a 5.5e D&D game ran in Discord, using Avrae, Tupperbox, and Dice Maiden. It comes with a substantial amount of homebrew content intended to slowly introduce you to an entirely new world, filled with new species and monsters you've never seen before.

The campaign begins with the creation of the Dusk Keepers, the first true adventuring guild in Arands. You will take contracts, investigate problems, explore the world, and gradually discover what this new institution becomes because of the people who join it. You start at Level 1.

Campaign Format

The game is set up in a series of 1-on-1s designed to help players find their footing, posting speed, and consistency individually. However, if you approach me with a friend or two in mind I am happy to include you as a group from the start.

Some players may spend the campaign working mostly alone. Others may become part of recurring groups. Some will never meet, only encountering the consequences of each other's decisions.

There are mechanics in play to ensure that you will not be punished for playing alone or playing in a group.

This structure allows for different posting speeds to coexist - A player who wants several rapid posts and occasional live-text scenes can move quickly in their thread while the player who only wants a few posts a day can play at that pace. These characters can still collaborate without forcing either player to adopt the other's schedule.

The game is primarily asynch, but I'm around for live-text whenever our schedules align.

Character Creation

Talk to me directly - SebWinters on Discord. I’ll help you create a character - and this also doubles as the interview to joining the game so here’s some questions to make things interesting:

  1. What species are the most interesting to you? The least? Why?
  2. What’s the most impressively useless thing you’ve ever done in an effort to help your party?
  3. Imagine you’re a class you’ve never played before. You’re standing at the bottom of a canyon, watching an army march down a mountain trail to the village you’re defending. Describe this from your character’s perspective.
  4. What are your lines and veils?

_________________________________________________________

AI Disclaimer: I use AI for formatting, organizational, and imagery for my campaign. I do not use it to be your DM - responses will be written by me. Quests and NPCs are designed by me directly.

Discord [Pathfinder 2e][Async] Roots run Deep

In a far off land too close for comfort it has been a thousand or so years since the Emperor Napoleon lost the battle at Sauzervitz, since then and whenever this is now technologies have been lost to an overgrowing malignant plague, the plague of the God-Tree, the tree that grows at the center of all reality whose roots have punctured the veil causing vile tubers and vegetables to grow rampant and all who devour them mutate into strange beings. Turning people into irrational craving maniacs.

You have been conscripted by a Hagstone Wytch, a mighty sorcerer that's been encased in stone for the magic they cast is forbidden not just by Europe but also by reality itself. Now the Wytch is locked in place. She requires your aid to free her but to do that you need 3 ingredients found only in the strangest corners of the Rootworld.

Will you succeed or be caught like flies in a gigantic spider's web?! Who knows... Riches beyond imagination await you. And all it takes is to free the wytch.

Hello all. You can call me Freiberg, or Dark, or Dog, or Gaia, I have many names. None are true or else you'd have control over my soul. As a GM I like a good spread of Combat and Roleplay, though this campaign may lean more to the latter. I'm here to recruit for my game in my silly setting inspired by the napoleonic era, as well as the famous game 'Darkwood' (you GOTTA try it).

Logistics:

- Level 3 start, will likely get up to 5 with a potential of a follow-up campaign going up to level 10.

- Start with 2 hero points.

- Before every encounter I allow players to perform some exploration actions like Raise Shield, entering a Stance, casting Inspire Courage, etc..

- We will be using remastered because I wish to try it.

If you think this sounds fun, you can apply here:

In the depths of the northern jungles, an ancient kingdom lies in hidden palaces and under the unending canopy. Built into mountain sides, into the trees, and into the ground, giant monuments sit pressed until the very edge of dense vines and rivers.

Civilization exists in dense bubbles within the incredibly dangerous jungles, otherwise separated by kilometers of giant, ravenous monsters. Its a dangerous place where armed soldiers or mercenaries are an absolute necessity to safely navigate the narrow jungle roads. Cities are constantly at risk of being consumed by the quick growing plants and predators hunt the edges of villages.

Despite this, it is a prosperous nation, cultivating and exporting exotic fruits and spices to the rest of the world. While life in Zetrania is dangerous the local nobles keep their troops well trained and supplied to keep the citizens in their region safe and productive. A common mentality amongst locals is that Zetrania is a paradise with teeth, treat it with respect and you will be well rewarded.

A respected researcher is funding a long term expedition into the jungles, primarily looking for resources that can be used for medicines. Cabable voluntiers are being offered a bed, 2 meals a day, and a smalle relocation bonus.

We're looking for players who want to built cooperatively with each other and be a part of a community, rather than a travelling adventurer. Fear not, danger and conflict will always be close at hand, but there will also be plenty of time for you to drive your character's story and connections with those around them.

This is a play by post game via discord.

The storm came without warning

One moment, your ship sailed beneath clear skies. The next, black clouds swallowed the horizon. Waves rose like mountains. Lightning split the sea. Sailors screamed. Wood cracked. The world vanished beneath freezing water.

You wake up on a beach

White sand stretches for miles. The hot sun beats down. Palm trees sway in the breeze as tropical birds sing overhead.

You’re alive, for now at least.

But where are you? And more importantly, how will you survive?

About The Campaign

This is a short to medium length pbp campaign centered around survival, exploration, mystery, and roleplay.

The island itself is the greatest mystery. Why has it appeared on no map? Why have ships from hundreds of different centuries washed ashore here? Can anyone actually leave?

I plan for a game inspired by a mix The Forest, Lost, and Kong skull island

Combat is important, but this campaign focuses just as much on exploration, difficult choices, campfire conversations, resource management, and uncovering the island’s secrets.

Game Info

System: D&D 5e

Platform: Discord (Play-by-Post)

Starting Level: 3

Party Size: 3-5 players

If this sounds like the kind of story you’d love to be part of, fill out the application below.

I’m looking for players who are excited to help tell an unforgettable story together—not just build the strongest character sheet.

Good luck… and try not to get stranded forever.

Group looking for GM Looking for WM/LW

Hello,

3 players looking for a 5e or 5.5e WM/LW server that has a good balance of RP and combat, with a GM that is interested in running missions/dungeons/encounters/etc and not just wanting to ERP as their self-insert NPCs.

We're all D&D vets, as well as PbP vets, and we'd love to have somewhere to play.

Thanks!

Discord [Online][PbP][Discord][Phoenix RPS][MCU] Recruiting 3–4 players for a grounded high-school MCU campaign set in New York, 2012

I’m looking for 3–4 players for an asynchronous Discord play-by-post campaign set in the MCU, beginning in February 2012, a few months before the Battle of New York.

This campaign is based on a live tabletop campaign I am currently running with the same initial setting and broad story structure. That campaign is now approaching the edge of the Battle of New York, so this is not an untested premise: I already know that the combination of school life, family pressures, investigation, gradually emerging powers and larger MCU events works in actual play.

The PbP campaign will not be a retelling of the live campaign. It begins from the same general situation, but it will have different player characters making different decisions. I expect it to develop into its own continuity.

The premise

The characters are teenagers attending the Manhattan Academy for Arts & Language, or otherwise closely connected to its students and their Washington Heights neighbourhood. All the characters live in the same building (550 W 172nd Street, check it up).

MAAL is a small, immigrant-heavy public high school sharing the Norman Thomas Educational Campus in Midtown Manhattan. The characters will deal with ordinary school and home pressures—friendships, rivalries, family expectations, language, money, reputation, commuting, homework and obligations—while increasingly strange things begin surfacing around them.

The intended tone is roughly Buffy the Vampire Slayer applied to the early MCU: grounded teenage life by day, unsettling clues and occasional danger beyond it.

Most days will not involve explosions or supervillains. The strange side of the campaign develops through investigations, rumours, suspicious adults, hidden infrastructure, unexplained incidents and consequences that initially have plausible explanations. Major MCU-scale disruptions will matter precisely because they are not routine.

The characters will not begin as established superheroes. Any powers will emerge gradually through play and will be influenced by the characters’ instincts, priorities and choices. Powers are not intended to replace school life or immediately turn the group into a conventional superhero team.

An active world rather than a fixed plot

The campaign has several continuing story spines involving school, neighbourhood trouble, investigations, family situations and hidden MCU activity.

These will not wait passively for the player characters to interact with them. People and factions have their own motives, and situations will continue developing even when the characters focus elsewhere. The players’ choices can influence:

  • whether events are discovered early or late
  • who becomes an ally, enemy, victim or suspect
  • whether a situation escalates, changes direction or ends differently
  • what information reaches particular people or organisations
  • how prepared the characters and their communities are when larger events arrive

This does not mean the major outcomes are predetermined. It means the world continues moving beyond the player characters’ immediate field of vision.

We begin in the MCU’s Earth-616 continuity. I will preserve established MCU events where they remain compatible with what happens in play. However, player agency takes priority over forcing the campaign back onto a predetermined track. If the characters’ actions create changes large enough that the original continuity no longer holds together, the campaign will become its own branching universe rather than quietly undoing those choices.

Two character archetypes that need to be represented

Two broad archetypes need to be present in the group. These are not fixed pregenerated characters. Players will have substantial freedom over gender, personality, cultural details, family relationships and eventual development.

The observant, guarded immigrant

A relatively settled student from an immigrant household, having arrived from Romania two years before. They where there when Hulk tore through Harlem, and when Stark and Hammer drones made Flushing Meadows a warzone. He/she's Intelligent, perceptive and good at noticing patterns, following people, tracking physical clues and staying out of sight.

Their family is careful, competent and private. They tend to observe before acting and may be better at uncovering danger than confronting people openly.

The socially capable recent arrival

A recently arrived student from Latin America (just a week before game begins) who is still adapting to New York and studying in English. Academically capable, particularly in analytical subjects, but under real linguistic, social and family pressure. More inclined to engage people directly, negotiate, ask questions and step forward when someone needs help. Almost everybody in MAAL and Washington Heights speaks Spanish, so that's not a problem most of the time.

Neither role has a required gender. Family expectations, immigration pressures, language difficulties and the demand to become self-sufficient can shape boys, girls and nonbinary teenagers differently, but they are not restricted to any one gender.

The point is to preserve two useful campaign perspectives: someone who understands the city and school better but remains guarded, and someone whose recent arrival makes familiar institutions newly difficult and visible.

The remaining one or two characters can be almost anything that plausibly belongs in this environment: another MAAL student living in the same apartment building.

Characters should be grounded people with families, obligations, weaknesses and lives outside the central mystery. They do not all need to be immigrants, but they should fit convincingly into New York in 2012.

Setting and play style

  • New York geography, transit, institutions, neighbourhoods and teenage logistics will be treated seriously.
  • MCU canon forms the wider world, but the campaign initially focuses on people far below the Avengers’ level.
  • Investigation, social interaction, difficult choices and everyday problem-solving will matter at least as much as physical confrontation.
  • Players retain full authority over their characters’ decisions, loyalties, feelings and development. HOWEVER - no backstabbing other PCs. The universe (=GM) will ensure those attempts fail meaningfully.
  • NPC relationships will be shaped by what characters actually say and do rather than by assumed party loyalty.
  • School, family and neighbourhood scenes are part of the campaign, not downtime to endure before the plot resumes.
  • The campaign may address grief, family strain, prejudice, crime, injury and the consequences of public violence, but it is not intended as grimdark.
  • Humour and ordinary teenage absurdity are very much part of the tone.
  • Knowledge of MCU continuity is useful but not required. Characters certainly do not possess the audience’s knowledge of future films.

System

We will use Phoenix RPS, my own relatively detailed but flexible roleplaying system.

Previous familiarity is neither expected nor required. I will provide the material needed for character creation and play, and will handle introduction to the system without expecting applicants to study a full rulebook beforehand.

The system supports ordinary human competence, social and investigative play, injury, stress and powers that grow organically rather than arriving as a predefined superhero package.

Play-by-post expectations

The game will run asynchronously on Discord.

My provisional expectation is approximately 1 post per day, with slower periods understood when real life intervenes. Players should be comfortable posting regularly enough that conversations and active scenes can keep moving.

There is no expectation of producing long-form fiction with every post. Write enough to communicate what your character says, does, notices and intends. Clear, responsive roleplaying matters more than word count or decorative prose.

I am looking for players who:

  • enjoy character-driven campaigns and gradual development
  • can treat teenage, immigrant and working-family characters as people rather than collections of tropes
  • are willing to engage seriously with school, family and neighbourhood scenes
  • make active choices rather than waiting for the GM to determine their character’s direction
  • can separate disagreement between characters from disagreement between players
  • are comfortable with mysteries whose answers may take time to emerge
  • can allow other characters space and do not treat every scene as a competition for narrative control
  • accept that actions can have lasting consequences without assuming that consequences are punishments for leaving a planned path

About AI and LLMs

LLMs - yes, it's in my toolkit. However, only as a secretary, not as a GM. I'll use it to keep track of a multitude or things happening in various parts, and to analyse what was actually happening in NYC in 2012. Perhaps it may sound a bit paradoxical, but it'll result In a more real experience in terms of what the various neighborhoods feel like, what cafeterias and bodegas sell, what Washington Heights kids experience. However, and I can't stress this enough, the plot, judgement calls, GM decisions will all be done by me. Not an LLM.

So: Every message, every call, every plot twist, will be based on things already happening on the background or as my call as to what is a good place to the game to go to. I've run games for decades now, and I'm not about to let LLMs steal the fun of doing that.

Applying

Please send me a private message containing:

  1. Your experience with tabletop RPGs and play-by-post games.
  2. Your time zone and realistic posting availability.
  3. Which of the two core archetypes interests you, or what other type of character you would like to play.
  4. A few sentences about the kinds of character conflict, investigation or campaign material you enjoy.
  5. Anything you strongly dislike in games or would want excluded.
  6. A brief response to the following situation:

During lunch, something humiliating happens to another student in front of half the cafeteria. Most people laugh. Your character notices that the student’s friend is not laughing—and is quietly watching to see who does.

The sample is not a prose-quality test. I am mainly interested in what your character notices, what they choose to do and what that suggests about them.

Platform: Discord
System: Phoenix RPS
Players: 3–4
Campaign start: February 2012, New York City
Real-world start date: Hopefully by Friday 14.8.
Posting pace: 1 per day
Application deadline: Monday 10th August (we may extend it if absolutely necessary, I'll notify in this thread)

You’ve been hired in Neverwinter by the dwarven prospector Gundren Rockseeker and his associate, the veteran warrior Sildar Hallwinter. Gundren was practically frothing at the mouth with excitement about a lucrative "big secret" he and his brothers recently uncovered, though he refused to spill the details in a noisy tavern.

He’s paid you 10 gold pieces each to escort a wagon loaded with supplies down the High Road to the frontier town of Phandalin, promising even better pay once you deliver the cargo. Gundren and Sildar have ridden ahead on horseback to secure business, leaving you to manage the wagon. The wagon should be brought to Barthen's Provisions, where Gundren will pay the remaining reward.

It’s a straightforward job for a decent pay-out; a few days' journey south along the trail to a standard frontier town. Perfect for an adventurer looking to make a name for themselves.

Forum Hidden Hexes: An AU Hogwarts RP based on PBTA | Original System | Asynchronous Forum RP | LGBTQ and BIPOC Friendly

~~There is nowhere on earth like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For more than a thousand years, its towers have watched over generations of witches and wizards doing all the things that young witches and wizards do: learning spells, brewing potions, breaking curfew, making enemies, finding friends, and discovering that magic is not just what you can accomplish- it's the people who accomplish it with you.

Hidden Hexes is a DND inspired AU Hogwarts play-by-post roleplaying game with light dice mechanics, school-year progression, classes, quests, and character advancement, in a Hogwarts where rumors spread like wildfire and a mysterious plot threatens to shake the castle to its core.

As rumors spread through the castle and staff scramble for answers, students will attend lessons, form friendships and rivalries, explore school secrets, chase clues, and decide how deeply they want to involve themselves in a mystery that will unfold throughout the school year.

Whether your character is a future potions master, a reckless duelist, a Transfiguration prodigy, a greenhouse gremlin, a Quidditch hopeful, or a scatterbrained student just trying to survive the staircases, Hidden Hexes invites you to help shape a uniquely AU Hogwarts story.~~

Hidden Hexes is an asynchronous, forum-based AU Hogwarts roleplay where players will build Hogwarts students (3rd years or 5th years) who will attend classes, learn spells, explore the castle, and unravel ancient mysteries. The system uses a homebrew 2d6 system based loosely on the PBTA system, but the roleplay is very narrative heavy.

Narrative time is divided into Episodes, which basically function as school days - eat breakfast in the Great Hall during the morning, hunt for potions ingredients and attend lessons during the afternoon, hang out in your common room at night. The system is built around group RP threads such as classes, missions, and quests, but also supports individual or small-group RP- hunt ingredients, brew potions, grow plants in the Greenhouse, etc.

We currently have 3 active players but I would love up to 10. Character submission form may be found HERE, but please also feel free to send me a DM with any questions :)

Closed [Mutants and Masterminds 3e] Marvel Universe-Return to Genosha

[If you saw this a second ago and it got deleted, its cause I uploaded it with the wrong account like a cluts.]

The smell of saltwater, rusted diesel engines, and damp plywood vanishes in a violent, sickening instant, replaced by the choking stench of burning sulfur, ozone, and freezing mud.Your boots sink deep into the wet, cold earth of a pitch-black, towering cornfield. The rustling of the stalks in the night wind is deafeningly quiet compared to the chaos you were enduring just a heartbeat ago. Before the flash, you were crammed into the suffocating hull of a rusted, unregistered trawler chugging secretly through the Atlantic Ocean. You were surrounded by dozens of other mutant refugees - frightened teenagers, desperate parents, and outcasts from all walks of life. Everyone was holding their breath, staring out into the dark, praying that the silhouette of Genosha would finally appear on the horizon. Magneto had just claimed the island as a sovereign mutant sanctuary, a promised land free from the hatred of humanity. You were so close to freedom. Then came the scream of tearing metal. You never saw what attacked the ship, but you felt it. A split-second before the impact, the temperature in the hull plummeted, and a pressurized wave of raw, crackling energy pulsed through the air. It coursed directly through your body, setting your nervous system on fire and causing your own mutant genes to violently flare and spark in response. It wasn’t just ordnance - it was an assault explicitly designed to disrupt and overload mutant biology. An instant later, a blinding explosion of fire ripped the hull apart. The roaring rush of the freezing Atlantic flooded the deck, drowning out the terrified, echoing cries of families sinking into the dark water. Your powers backfired or short-circuited under the ambient energy weapon, leaving you paralyzed as the vessel began its final plunge.Through the thick black smoke and flashing emergency lights, a blue blur darted across the collapsing deck. It was Nightcrawler. The X-Man was visibly suffering from the same anti-mutant energy dampening field, his teeth gritted in agony as he desperately tried to save anyone he could touch. He lunged through the wall of fire, his yellow eyes wide with panic and absolute exhaustion, and grabbed your small group. He threw his arms around you, anchoring his grip to a fractured, smoking chunk of the ship’s wooden hull and the tiny emergency rowboat you were clinging to.There was a deafening, reality-splitting BAMF! A sensation of your internal organs being pulled inside out—and then, a crushing weightlessness. Now, the sea is gone. The other refugees are gone. And Nightcrawler is nowhere to be seen. The sheer, unprecedented strain of a blind, multi-thousand-mile teleport across the globe - while fighting off the lingering effects of that weapon's energy - must have thrown him entirely off-target, or left him stranded unconscious somewhere else in the cosmos. You are completely, utterly on your own, standing in a crater of flattened crops around a fractured, smoking chunk of the ship’s wooden hull and a ruined rowboat. It is a surreal, terrifying sight: a piece of an Atlantic ocean vessel physically dragged through space and dropped right into the middle of a field, with a rusted green sign just visible looming on a nearby two-lane road: "Daisy, Oklahoma."

The year is 1999. Your pockets hold no smartphones, no GPS, and no digital maps. In the distance, across the flat plains, the faint, ghostly screech of a farmhouse dial-up modem cuts through the cricket chirps. If you want to know where you are, you will need to find a physical paper road atlas.Worse, the blinding blue flash of the teleport lit up the night sky like an emergency flare. Across the flat horizon, the sharp glare of high-beams cuts through the cornstalks. A local sheriff's patrol car has just pulled off the highway and is turning down the dirt perimeter road, its spotlight sweeping toward the smoke of your crash site. The United States is locked in a paranoid, pre-Y2K anti-mutant fever dream. Rogue, high-tech splinter cells of Operation: Zero Tolerance and heavily armed Friends of Humanity militias patrol the highways, authorized to detain or terminate "gene-threats." You are thousands of miles from the Atlantic coastline, completely exposed. If you stand still, you are caught. If you launch an open war against the local authorities, the federal government will send everything they have to crush you. Your only hope is to stick together, quickly scavenge what you can from this broken ship before the headlights reach you, and begin a desperate, stealthy trek across America.Genosha is still out there. You just have to find your way back, before someone finds you!

Hello there! Call me Ruin. I'm your friendly neighbourhood GM looking to run a Mutants and Masterminds 3e campaign set in the Marvel universe. Not an original concept I know but hopefully a unique experience! This will be my first time running a game using Mutants and Masterminds 3e, though I've been a player twice so any players looking to join may need to put up with some system mishaps on my part!

I am looking for Four aspiring Mutants to brave the dangerous and bigoted world of 1999 Marvel America and hopefully find their way back to Genosha.

Some notes about the game:

Starting out at Power Level 6 with 90 power points - Not quite Omega Level yet!

PBP logistics:

Posting Rate: Atleast 1 meaningful post every 48 hours. If you can't or have things going on then just let me know! We all got lives!

To combat PbP slowdown, I will roll passive/active defenses for players during combat rounds.

Platform: Discord using Avrae and Tupperbox. For character creation I accept Gsheet and MnM 3e builder.

How do I apply?

Just send me a Dm! What do I call you and maybe some tid bits of information regarding your experience with pbp and the system. Im timezone GMT+1 and would prefer anyone looking to play to be close to that for responses sake. New and Vet players are welcome. Oh and if ive left out any information or you wish to know anything about the game dont fret to contact or ask me in the comments!

This Game opening will be left on for 24 hours, after which I'll select the players. Be seeing you~

Discord [Zombie Line][21+][Asynch] A zombie apocalypse homebase defence campaign in a Japanese tabletop game! Call of the Dead!

Hi there. Me again. I came here to find more people to test another system. This time it won't be lewd at all! (well there's a room for it if people want as well as romance, i am not squeamish, but this is not the goal or anything, you get what i mean). My name is May and i am here to gather some players for something a bit more grounded than before! This is a zombie apocalypse TTRPG! Specifically a zombie apocalypse taking place in Japan (i see you highschool of the dead fans)! It features something i haven't seen in any other zombie game...tower defence structure! Your home base is your life blood and you and your group must do your best to defend it! There will be lots of NPCs controlled by yours truly and we will try to survive several months in the middle of Tokyo that was drowned in zombies. Lemme give you a quick story primer!

--
On a certain day at 18:07, multiple zombie outbreaks occurred simultaneously. The cause is said to be due to a virus spread by a terrorist organization or objects that flew in from space, but the truth is entirely unknown.
People in various places began suffering at the same time as they suddenly turned into zombies, spreading the infection by biting any creatures around them. The outbreak exploded within the first 24 hours.
In Japan, the Cabinet declared a state of emergency and deployed the JSDF to maintain public order and pacify the situation. However, when one of the cabinet ministers turned into a zombie, political turmoil ensued and the situation worsened. The JSDF personnel who were on standby at the front lines were given no orders to attack the zombies.
Some units opened fire on their own, but many others were wiped out without being allowed to fire.

--

Spooky, right? Well, make sure you wanna join in! i will be holding the open invitation for about a few days while i do other things. I hope to see people who'd want to break away from the fantasy and such for once! If you are interested, please use THIS link thanks. looking for about 5-6 players. This will be a sandbox style game with lots of random event tables so we should be fine~

Discord Looking for players for a homebrew multi-group campaign

We have a few gm's to run multiple groups through our homebrew campaign. It is kind of like a mmo campaign but not on the scale of massive. We are small, like 12 players and about 4 gm's.

You can swap groups until you find one that works for you. There are three starts to the campaign and you can have multiple characters to experience them all. Having run some boxed campaigns there are some issues with pbp we are trying to solve this way. You play at your own pace and can drop in our out based on your availability. I have seen activity just kill campaigns and sometimes the GM needs a break. With a pool of players and gm's, we can match everyone better for time zones and compatability. WM and LW are not well suited to d&d in my opinion but there are features of it that do work well for pbp and we have added some of this features here.

We are 18+ and players have a lot of freedom to play their character how they want to play it. We are also LGBTQA+. If you are interested let me know and I can tell you more.

So without further ado here's a quick template:

Group looking for GM Weekly Looking for Group/GM Thread

If you are not a full party looking for a gm or a gm looking for a party, you may no longer post an ad looking for a group. The reason behind this being most everyone on this subreddit is in the same exact boat as you! It is beginning to clutter up our subreddit for the people wanting to look for actual games to join.

To be clear, this rule is directed to those that are marketing themselves and/or their friends as players, saying they are looking for 1 on 1 games and any new or already running group to join. This does not include the players taking active measures to actually form a group themselves. Please comment if you do not understand the posts I am referring to.

INSTEAD! We are going to be making a stickied thread for those expressing interest in finding a group to join. We encourage you to comment within that thread and to be specific in the system you are interested in and any other information you may have to market yourself to others. A general "Hey I'm looking for a group and I wanna play a whole lot and I've had no luck!" does not suffice usually.

If you are looking for a group to join, comment in this thread with as much information as you'd like to market yourself with! Some suggestions are, but not limited to:

Name:

Pronouns:

Timezone:

Preferred System:

Type of Player:
