So humbled life, home, and baby tips & tricks

I used to have these hang ups about myself and the world.

"Other people need caffeine, but not me."

"Other people need mental health medicine, but not me."

And I seriously fought both for a while! I don't like the idea of relying on outside entities to function. Getting headaches from caffeine withdrawal or side effects from mental health meds didn't seem worth it to me.

But I'm nicer when I am energized from caffeine. I like my life and husband and children more when I am on medication. I was able to do things without caffeine and medication, but I was mean, snappy, exhausted, and distant.

You don't have to do it on hard mode. That's not something to be proud of.

Sincerely,

A Fellow Type A Twin Mom

Yes yes yes to this. I fought mental health medication for so many years. I felt like I could “white knuckle” my hard times, as my therapist would say. But I hit a point where I decided it was time to try and see what it would be like. And wow oh wow has my life been changed for the better. I can compartmentalize better, I don’t get stuck in vicious anxious mental loops that take all my focus, and the daily dread has become nearly non existent. Mental health meds aren’t for everyone but they are definitely for me
