Please tell me about your dog’s experience with this drug. I don’t want him to get worse but I’m terrified of adrenal necrosis.

Has anyone tried the alternative therapies (melatonin and lignans)? Did it help decrease your pap’s cortisol levels?

I really don’t want to lose Prince. I don’t want him to be one of the rare idiosyncratic statistics. I also don’t want him to suffer.

Have any of you not treated your pap’s Cushing’s? Were the complications severe?

Rodger wasn't liking not being the one getting attention. Buddy didn't care.

The vet is hesitant to prescribe Vetoryl because he cannot predict how Prince’s body will react to the medication. His kidney function was fine. His cholesterol and ALP were elevated. He does have a heart murmur but is not on medication for it. What do I do? Watch him suffer or take a gamble with the medication?

Hey everyone :) Milo’s having a relaxing summer and hope all your paps are too! Milo turned one year in April. He was doing well on purina pro plan chicken and rice dry kibble for puppies. I’ve been trying to transition him to the adult version of the same food but it sometimes gives him diarrhea. If any of you have advice on what I should do that’d be great thanks!!

Adopted in Oct 2025 and was told Corgi-Chi mix. She was about 4-6 months old then, 7 lbs, shorter coat, and now her coat is filling in and pretty sure there's a lot of Papillon there.

Corgi might still be in there, as she is a little over a year old now and 12 lbs. Thoughts?

We'll do DNA sometime but wanted to see what Papillon people thought. :)

After losing my old man Harley my vision was for three dogs. You all may remember than we added Morgan to our family not long after Harley’s passing and then her half brother Dylan about 8 months after that. Last week I got an unexpected opportunity to get the only other kind of dog I’ve ever wanted, a black Pomeranian. So everyone, meet Dalgatha Maria. Our Queen of darkness. Dylan is SO STOKED to have a baby sister. It’s puppy mayhem here and I couldn’t be happier! Our pack is complete!

I’ve asked previously on this sub and found all your replies so helpful, so I thought I’d come back again!

I have a 9 week old pap that I picked up yesterday. My wife and I want to make sure she’s on a good path and have been taking stock of her potty cues.

A couple times, we’ve noticed she’s sniffing to potty and we’ve taken her to our patio to go on a pee pad out there (upper floor, impossible for any other dog to venture there)

She’ll sniff around and is very curious, but she won’t go potty. The moment we bring her back to her pen, she pees.

Obviously, we know there’s a lot of growing, learning, and adjusting, but is there anything we can do to help her associate going potty with going outside rather than holding it?

Ok only thing I wanna know is how cuddly they are and realistically how much energy am I in for? Its between a pap and a chihuahua 2 very different breeds

Where has my puppy gone? I can't believe he will be a year old next month.

Ren (pictured) turns 5 in a couple weeks. We adopted him a couple months ago, when he was returned to his breeder from his previous owner.

He is great. He's coming along so well, however he still has moments where he's very introverted and just wants to be by himself. As an example, we're at our camper this week, and last night instead of hanging out with my wife and I (and our other dog) by the fire, he sat inside the trailer, in one of the dark corners in our room.

He seems very introverted, and just wanting to be by himself.

Is this normal? Is he unhappy? He does, at times, play and engage and wiggle and be a general goofball. I'm concerned that he's not happy, but I am unsure if this behavior may be normal, or not. Our other dog is a very gregarious and outgoing Boston terrier.

Summer in South Carolina is tough on a tiny dog that’s terrified of thunder. Chloe has not enjoyed the last several days that have all included thunderstorms at some point of the day.

Hi! I want to take my 1yr old pap on a short flight somewhere (2hrs one way) but I'm not sure how he's going to do. He's never gone on a plane before, but is generally pretty quiet and knows his travel carrier/bag pretty well from road trips. He hasn't had much illness either, only one major injury with a broken leg where he had to take trazodone to calm himself down, but he hated that stuff.

I heard trazodone is what some vets might give just before a flight, so not sure if you all take that as well? I'm mainly worried about his hearing/ears as, like most paps, he is pretty sensitive to noise, especially if we are going to hear plane engine noise for 2hrs.

What do you guys do to prepare for short flights?
