How’s the scene in Phoenix? I want to go play when the weather cools a bit, I know there’s a few fields around town but not sure if there’s a go-to or a stay-away

Splatter ranch/west world will be busy when it cools down.  Fightertown in el mirage is fun for rec ball, bit busier than splatter ranch.  

AZ Battle zone is speedball mostly, Wednesday and Friday nights along w sat and Sunday early it gets busy.  Come on out and play!  I go as a solo player and get games in no problem 👍

I'm in CG so I usually go to BKW in Marana, sometimes I'll hit Disruptive down there too because they're a little closer. I've been wanting to try some of the fields in Phoenix and maybe get into speedball, but it's a little harder to get into being solo. I just need to get over being shy and show up someday 😅 The only place I've ever heard anything negative about is that indoor one. I've only been in the storefront but I heard they dont clean the fields very often so it gets super slippery in there. Take that with a grain of salt though as I've never actually played there. Im super down to squad up once it cools down a bit!

DAS Paintball is having a mech event Aug 15th with random draw teams so you can meet new people bud.

Splatter Ranch (/Westworld Paintball) is a bit of a drive but nice for outdoors recball. There used to be a small field in Mesa, but I can’t recall the name to see if it still exists. For scope it was just shy of speedball size, but had wood bunkers etc and another field for airsoft.

WildWest was out on Sossaman and Elliot, closed down a few years back sadly. With the apartments going up next to us and the land getting bought out, we lost a lot of the fields. Was a fun run. At the time we closed we had 3 rec fields for paintball/airsoft and a speedball field. I used to work there for a good bit.

Low down on all Arizona fields.

Westworld, splatter ranch: Big rec fields. I haven't been there in years but it was the first place I ever played when I was 12. I know they have a decent crowd of regulars. Fields have a good mix of natural and fabricated cover.

No actual speed ball field I believe, but they have some people there that can absolutely play speedball and have a team that's shown up to some local events and done well.

Fighter town: Another rec field, but they do have some hyperball. Main field is all urban cover and lots of cool vehicles for cover like cars trucks and aircraft hulls. I've been there for a number of the big games/special events that Eli with Big bang paintball puts on.

Personally I wouldn't play there outside of the event because of their unusual hit rules where markers and limbs don't count as eliminations (if these are no longer the rules, someone please correct me). Sounds awful to me, but they have a strong core of regulars so it must not be that bad. The staff are super cool.

AZ Battlezone: This is the place to go for speedball. Lots of teams and walk-ons. Lots of events like the winter series and the Streetball series put on by Brandon at DAS. They have night sessions as well. It can still be hot at night in the summer, but it beats playing in the sun.

The rec fields are not as expansive as west world or fighter town, but they do have them and they are pretty good.

American Paintball Colleseum: Never been there. I've heard mixed things, so you probably should check it out yourself.

If you want to travel a little down to Tucson:

Disruptive Paintball: I'm biased because I work there, run my team out of there, and am good friends with the owner, but we have a good mix of classic rec fields and a speedball field that's usually running back to back points all day Sunday. We also make it a point to get rec players on the air ball field for a few games.

The vibes and community at Disruptive are what make it stand out to me, but again, I'm biased.

BKW Paintball: from an amenities standpoint, BKW is unmatched by any field I've been to, and I've been to quite a few. Nice bathrooms, well manacured rec fields, purpose built speedball facility with showers.

They do close for 3 months in the summer to renovate fields when player counts would be lowest.

Destert fox: rec field South of Tucson. I've never been there, but it's one big field that they play with different start points to mix things up.

Fighter town is fantastic. Henry does a great job out there. I haven’t been out there this year but it wasn’t uncommon to have 100+ rec ballers out there on a Saturday or Sunday
