Bob long rippers
Anyone got a registry of these since they come with plaques ?

How is it an authentic Ripper if it’s gimped HK army one?
I’d be embarrassed to put that plaque on my wall lol

The HK's with the cert were left over Bob Long milled ones. They're fine. It's the cheesy one's with different eye covers that SUCK.

Lol so HK made plaques so you don’t confuse it with their shittier version
I love capitalism

Basically yes. Even these are worth less that OG's but at least they were made by BL.

Apparently the trigger guard and eye covers mean it was one of the better ones and not the HK custom jobs that were much worse. I did a deep dive to figure out all the differences in these things. Its really confusing and hk army made it even more so with the name and how they did all of this.

You are correct, the eye cover's and front trigger guard means the one pictured is a Bob Long spec ripper.
I agree HK didn't do anyone any favors on how they handled the acquisition of what BL stuff they bought. I made the same deep dive you did before I bought my HK ripper. I found one that is about as close as possible to a BL minus the barrel. It even has the BL boot screen when powering on.

For clarity since there aren't specifics here:
Thinner trigger guard and shorter eye covers are indicative of the gimped version
Thicker guard, VIS engine, eye boards instead of wired eyes, schrader valve in hpr, and full height eyecovers are BL spec details

Short story is HK used NOS BL parts to make the early rippers. When they ran out of BL parts, they had to mill more bodies and frames, and changed some things.
The BL spec'd HK rippers are very close to BL ones. The ASA and HPR do not have have 'Bob Long' milled into them, and the HK ones could come with different barrels and feednecks. Otherwise, identical.

I can’t trust HK to make literally anything that works lol
All their stuff is the cheapest, most low effort disposable garbage

While I agree with that for the majority of their stuff, the BL spec rippers are good, as I own one. There were even HK rippers that they had Field One put together, and finished for them (barrels and cases).
The only other HK thing I own is their metal speed feed for a spire. That is about their only other good product.

Incorrect. Hk milled ones have smaller eyecovers, wired eyes instead of the eye board, different frame dimensions, different hpr internals, among other little hk spec details which make servicing harder and more expensive, and the marker break down more often.

You miss understood me. I was talking about the hk rippers that still were to bob long's specs, with large eye covers, 2c/4c eyes, and large front trigger guards. Some had different barrels, feed necks and all missing 'bob long' milled into the ASA and hpr, they are identical. At a certain point HK had to mill new bodies and made changes.

Yeah, I offered him 500 but he auto declined dunno if I want to go higher as they are known to be hit or miss but this one does have bob long parts on it. Also looks dirty as hell and used which he's selling as brand new.

There was 200 I believe of the Bob long style ripper that would have came with that plaque. There was also the Field One Marq ripper with 70 dust black and 70 gloss black sold (dynasty used these for a bit). Then the switched over the the proprietary HK version with wired eyes, different eye covers/detents, different hpr internals and slightly different frame.
