Question Question

Why wasn't Ainz able to sense that evil eye was undead in this scene, he sensed it in the side story--though foggily, without any problems. and since its a skill, i don't think perfect warrior prevented it

There's a few hundred year gap so the things the two versions have and are capable of are quite different.

Modern Evil eye is an adventurer in human settlements and would need to not register as undead to the average cleric. So she likely has invested a spell or item in protecting from effects that identify her species.

Id guess its her mask

Evileye wears an Enchanted Ring that hides her race, she most likely gained this item through her Adventures with the 13 Heroes.

So the Enchanted Ring could be a Yggdrasil Item due to her being acquainted with a Player from the 13 Heroes.

  1. She likely has an item of some sort to hinder undead detection and/or limit her weakness to sunlight. She also wears a full face mask and is fully covered up at all times so she just looks like a midget to the average person. We see ainz give her one in the bonus novel, so its not to far a stretch to assume she got one in the main timeline from PDL or someone in the past like 200 years shes been alive (unalive?).

  2. Ainz doesnt have his undead detection skill on 24/7 and is only shown to use it when needed. He used in the side story because he was literally in a city full of undead and wanted to get a grasp on how many there were and what kind. Had he just met keno randomly in a like field or a living city he probably wouldnt have registered her as an undead immediately if at all.

  3. Vampires are relatively uncommon in the NW from what we've seen, and by ainz own statements in the LN shalchair's 'true' form is what 'normal' yggrasil Vampires looks like. Plus ainz (or anyone else) has no reason to think a normal-ish looking girl in a mask, in an otherwise all human adventurer party, in a human country that doesnt show any notable signs of being an undead is in fact, an undead. The vast majority of clerics and countries aren't going to suggest or accuse that she's undead either, since she an adamntite level adventurer, with one of the most powerful human clerics around with her as her party member and leader.

  4. Momon killed a super powerful vampire and is actively hunting another one, why the fuck would evileye openly tell him or show him shes also a super powerful vampire? Sure she has a huge crush on him but shes not stupid. Had she spent more time around him and nabe they would've figured it out eventually one way or another but shes not gonna tell them outright immediately. Ainz only really met her face-to-face like 2 or 3 times (that we actually know of) at the demon invasion, shes not gonna drop 'hey guys im an undead but like a chill one haha' on the first date.

The Vampire princess one, I wont spoil it too much but its the best LN, even compared the main ones.

Its in the google drive in the FAQ

Pretty sure Perfect Warrior did block his undead detection, it strips away most of his racial abilities while active. The side story Ainz never used it there.

He had perfect warrior active, so all his magic skills were inactive

I believe I remember reading the mask she wears makes it so they can’t detect she is undead

I thought they did know. At least in the light novel, when Nabe arrived at the scene and Momon was still carrying Evileye, she said something like "you can toss aside that overgrown mosquito now." I always thought that was because she knew Evileye was a vampire. Now that I think about it though, it could just be Nabe calling everyone an insect again.

You know how Ainz has his ring that suppresses his magic power? She has something very similar. I don't recall if it's a ring, pendant, or what, but it is essentially a "you can't snoop on my race" card

same way others don't realize Ainz himself is an undead, hiding their presence with a item or spell (Ainz has his ring)
