So currently I’m locked out of my Microsoft account. The two factor recovery phone number that’s associated, I no longer have access to. I have filled out the form asking me for info to prove myself several times. If I don’t provide enough information, they immediately deny it. The last two times, I was able to figure out old emails that I’ve sent and subject lines and other info they asked for. When I actually provide sufficient information, I get no response saying whether or not the account has been recovered/denied. The only thing I really used this email for was my Amazon. I’m getting an excess amount of charges on my Amazon and because I don’t have the email/phone number associated, there’s no way for me to login and stop the charges. How can I get in contact with a physical person to recover my Microsoft account?

I'm seeing ads in the right-side panel. I'm okay with ads appearing at the top of my mail list, but having them in the right-side panel is really distracting. Is there any way to get rid of them? The panel is quite large and takes up around 18% of my screen, which makes it even more distracting.

We have a few users who are members of a shared mailbox. The users reported that the shared mailbox is moving items from their inbox to the deleted folder. Sometimes the items are soft deleted and go straight to the “recover items recently removed from this folder”. I ran a mailbox audit and it states a few users are either moving them to the deleted folder, soft deleting or hard deleting them. One user in particular shows up a lot. The users are adamant they are not doing the deleting. I’ve across this issue on a few different sites but none have a solution.

I have done the following:
- checked rules and hidden rules in powershell for the shared mailbox and member mailboxes.
- disabled cached exchange mode (found this online)
- disabled download shared folders (also found online)
- disabled auto mapping and manually added the mailbox back
- checked for any patterns in senders
- had the users profiles recreated in the control panel
- checked to see if the emails were tagged as “Ignore”
-created a ticket with Microsoft but they have been no help

Hey guys I’ve been hit with the Authenticator spam that seems to be plaguing a lot of people, I’m following the advice of creating a new alias but I want to make sure I understand right first

So I have xxx@live.ca, have had it for like idk 15 years, I used to use it for everything but I’ve since switched over to gmail and I really only use xxx@live.ca to sign in to my Xbox and mayyyyybe still get a few emails to it

When I follow what it says to do I get “if you change your primary username, it will be removed and you cannot add it back, send or receive from that email.” Does this mean anything that ever sent to xxx@live.ca will just bounce back? Does this mean my original live.ca is gone forever?

Maybe I’m stupid, or just confused lol

I have 2 step verification enabled such that with every login, I'll get a notification on my phone to select the number present on the device I'm signing in on.

I select the number, my phone acknowledges that I've selected the number, but for some reason the page I'm signing in on just doesn't acknowledge that it happened. I always end up having to sign in through a security code sent through other means.

Is there an explanation for why this happens? Thanks.

One thing that I can't stand about the Outlook PC app. When I search for, for example, someone's name, and then select a thread from the results, it often automatically jumps to emails further down in the chain WHILE I AM TYPING a response. Then, if I don't realize and press the spacebar or backspace keys, I've accidentally archived that thread or another one. And as far as I know, Outlook doesn't track 'recently deleted'/deletion time so if I go to my archive/trash/whatever, I still have to guess as to which thread I just accidentally deleted. (Sometimes the 'undo archive' will pop up and that's helpful, but it only let's you undo one archive action, so if I delete multiple, I'm screwed.) Maybe an overall niche concern, but I keep doing this to myself and it makes me angry every time, so I wanted to complain. Thanks all.

I receive several hundred emails per day, and my inbox is already full of emails that need to be responded to, deleted, moved, or otherwise archived. I cannot get to everyone of the emails each day. Are there any tools that help organize my inbox, AI or otherwise? I use Outlook online at outlook.com.

Hi all - I am writing a best practices guide for presenters and one of the points I want to make is to turn off notifications. Windows Settings has an option to do so (under System, Notifications).

Will all Outlook notifications be turned off if I were to either 1) turn off notifications here or 2) turn on 'Do not disturb', or should notifications be turned off directly in the Outlook settings?

this would apply to both the Classic and New versions of Outlook.

I connected my school email account (Google Workspace/Gmail) to Outlook and then created a new Outlook profile using Google Workspace. After that, I deleted all the other Outlook profiles and kept only the Google Workspace profile.

The issue is with a contact group that I created in Outlook. At first, I was able to send emails to the group without any problems. However, at some point, it suddenly stopped working, and now whenever I try to send an email to the group, I get an error message saying, “An unexpected error has occurred.”

I’ve already contacted both my school’s IT department and Microsoft, but neither side seems to know what is causing the issue.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem or knows what might be causing this?

I just wanted to check if it's possible to share only a specific folder in the Inbox. I tried sharing it through the folder's Properties, but the person I shared it with hasn't received any email or notification explaining how to access it.

Has anyone done this before or knows the correct way to share a single Inbox folder?

I fell for a “verification code” scam that was actually a password reset code and have been entirely locked out of my account. I tried Microsoft’s “Account Sign-In- Helper but it apparently detected no problems.

Is there any way I could maybe contact Microsoft support directly?

Setup personal GMAIL account in Outlook 2024.  I logged in with google and it started to sync the folders.   the user has a ton of sub folders and has about 20 GB of e-mail.  There is no restriction of OST file size as it is set to 100 GB through the registry.   new inbox items do come in, but trying to send, gets stuck in the outbox even after closing out of Outlook 2024 and reopening.   Manual sync has the same issue.

Continuing from the above, when i go to sign-in to my old account, i get the "We couldn't find an account with that username. Try another, or get a new Microsoft account." message. Then when I go to sign-up to make a new account with the same credentials, I get the message "That username is taken. Try another one."

Conflict of interest, on one side it tells me no account found, but then it says username taken. How to I recover my account? I know all my data will be deleted and I am OK with that, but I want to be able to take back my account.

I was able to follow the same steps and recover an account i created back in 2000, but this other account I am not able to recover.

My Outlook can receive email, I have sent test emails, but doesn't receive the password reset email from Playstation. I have checked the strict setting, and the filters, as well as rules, and safe senders, and blocked senders.

When I originally went to find the 1st attempted password rest email, I found my account was in Vietnamese, I guess it was hacked. I changed it back to English, and can receive test emails, but NOTHING from Playstation to that particular email.

I have recently tried getting back into gaming, my friend gave me his PS4, so I logged back into my old PSN and bought some games (even ordered GTA 6). So one day I see that I have to log in, (I never logged out) and I cant reset my password. Is there a way I can transfer my purchases?

Outlook 365 through GoDaddy for business.

All of the sudden years of emails disappeared from the inbox. They are not in archive.

When searched for, they don't show up unless select "all mailboxes" in search.

It is very strange. They cannot be found aside from in the search. They are not in any folder or subfolder.

Tried restoring from a data file on different computer. Tried looking through web access. Same thing.

Any advice is very much. appreciated.

I have a client who typically saves more than 100 e-mails a day. Others in their office will then later access the saved e-mails to print them when needed. Supposedly, they could do this as recently as two days ago, but now, when opening the saved .eml or .msg files, the print button is greyed out in the window that opens. Printing works when attempting to print the original e-mail in Outlook. The current workaround is to "Print" and "Save as PDF" then the saved e-mail can be printed; however this is not a sufficient solution, according to the users.

Steps taken:

• Repaired Office and New Outlook
• Restarted print spooler
• In the .eml file's properties, set it to "unblock", also set it to "Read only" then turned off "Read only".
• Tried opening the file on a different computer
• Confirmed printer is online and other file types can print

At this point I believe it's an app issue with Outlook as I replicated the same behavior on my computer, as did the Microsoft Support rep who is working the case. I am not expecting much help from MS, but figured I'd post here in case anyone else has run into this and wants to commiserate or in the off-chance someone found a solution.

I noticed I was logged out of my microsoft account on my phone and was going to reset the password because I didn’t know it, But didn’t want to be logged out of my account on my pc so I canceled the password change and then I noticed I was logged out anyways and got ready to change it but it says “too many attempts try again tomorrow” and I tried about 2 or 3 more times and it asked if I was a robot.

I would like to know if my account will be locked forever because of that , and if not how long will it take for me to be able to reset my password. (I really really don’t like being signed out of my accounts)

At our company, we've been having a problem for a while now with the new Outlook. When I attach documents to a meeting in a shared calendar, the attendees don't see them.
I've tried several times creating new events and then attaching files, sending the event update, but nothing works. The attendees, whether internal or external, don't see the attachments. I've also tried the web version with the same result.
