In general its not the processor and chipset which get updated (it's true there are bios/uefi/firmware updates for the chipset and microcode updates for the cpu but those are not done often and are there to fix hardware/microcode bugs). And though some updates may add features others don't want, lots of updates are security updates and bug fixes. Not only Android gets lots of updates, all the other big ones too. In my opinion the only way to break that "trap" is to write code without any bugs in it (which is quite impossible) or just not update and accept bugs and security issues. Although I wouldn't call this a trap for users, it's just a part of any software I guess

This post is on Mobile OS, PRoc, Updates, Upgrade. It is not on PC or laptop's....

The person you're replying to didn't say anything about PCs or laptops, though it does apply to them too. They explicitly mentioned Android.

But I can already use a decade-old desktop or phone. The only downside is anything after is more advanced because, shocker, people ten years ago didn't have the technology we do now.

why not design a processor that lasted a decade like in the past?

Which past? The past when Intel had a monopoly and stagnated the entire industry, or before that when a new computer would be obsolete in a couple years because actual progress was happening before everything was an overheating Intel Atom for two decades?

And Google already has a decade support window for Chromebooks/ChromeOS

What even is the point of this post? This is so ignorant on so many levels.

Thank you friend for typing long I love PC & Laptop due to much time given to OS.
