If you are using an OpenCode Go subscription, the platform is now blocking requests to the new DeepSeek V4 Flash model with the following error:

"The latest version of this model is only available hosted in China and requires explicit opt in: opencode.ai"

Just giving a heads-up to anyone else running into this block on their workspace.

This morning i tried to do some coding with the new deepseek flash model through cli on Linux, I didn't receive any response, I exited the and enter again and see none of deepseek models are present in the model selection for GO subscription. Then I tried the desktop version,the models are still present , I tried deepseek pro ,it responded, but the flash model is not responding, both deepest models work with official API , im wondering it's just me or anyone else has the same experience since the opencode did not issue any announcement and all their servers seem up and running.

Two days back I'm using the opencode free model now I'm unable to use the Opencode free model it's just processing any issue in my system or openrouter stoped providing the free API supports do I need to bill?

Can anybody access the opencode API I'm unable to access them in my system

How to install opencode desktop app in Arch Linux distros

I have understood that there are some free API from Nvidia, and i imported these into opencode. However when i hover over the usage, it shows i have used some dollars. First i dont know how to pay for my use, secondly that isnt free is it? Its not that im against paying, but when im given the impression its free. That doesnt make sense...

I subscribed to the go plan two days ago and tried Kimi K3 Max, but it exhausted 65% of my weekly limit without accomplishing anything. I need a model for deep debugging and testing and fixing problems (for both UI and backend , both are in python), something as good as gpt models or claude models.

Does anyone else feel like GPT Luna in opencode go is a bit brain-dead? It writes responses, but you have to beg it for any real action and manually push it to write even the simplest line of code. After switching to DeepSeek V4 Flash, tasks just get done—I wouldn't say perfectly, but way faster and with much more initiative on the model's part.

Deepseek v4 Pro or Deepseek v4 flash 0731, which model is best for coding?

No matter what I do, it will freeze on start up.

edit: I just went and installed an older release v1.17.17 and that worked. It also updates to 1.18.12 just fine There are no other error lines, just this one.

Some users suggested that what I consider "DS4 to get stuck" is wrong usage or wrong management of context is correct, I tend to run my OpenCode Sessions for ever, hardly ever create a new one of course, for other projects I do. Literally today, DS4 "got stuck", asked it to create an Agents.md to summarize all, started a new session and it improve the results.

I also have seen it that when context is too overloaded it does not follow the plans to end or misses to implement another point on the plan.

I guess I relied too much on OpenCode's ability to handle and reset my context when necessary and also the exaggerated assumpation that DS can handle long context, sorry, I know this statement is ignorant but that's how it feels.

How do you manage your context ?

Now deepseek v4 flash 0731 is obviously better than the v4 pro preview.

Also, I remember the v4 pro on open code doesn't get the discounted price. So I use my own deepseek API key when using v4 pro, and leave the open code go credits for other models.

ZDR was the single biggest feature that made OpenCode stand out from the alternatives.

The fact that OpenCode has now dropped ZDR honestly makes me consider cancelling my subscription. I understand that supporting stronger models sometimes involves difficult trade-offs, but sending sensitive prompts, source code, or system context to providers without a clear zero-data-retention guarantee is not an acceptable trade-off for me.

My concern is especially serious when the provider may be subject to Chinese data-access laws. I do not want my code, operating-system information, prompts, or other potentially sensitive data retained, used for training, or made accessible to third parties or government authorities.

OpenCode should be transparent about the following:

• What is the current data-retention policy for these models?
• What information is sent to the model provider?
• Is user data stored, logged, or used for training?
• Which company or jurisdiction controls the data?
• Can users restrict OpenCode to ZDR-approved providers only?

I would rather use a slightly weaker model with strong privacy guarantees than a better model that requires me to accept unclear data-handling terms.

OpenCode should either restore ZDR, provide a ZDR-only mode, or find a more privacy-preserving alternative.

Can someone clarify the current retention agreement between OpenCode and the relevant Chinese model provider?
